“Great
Pros
This software is quite friendly and allows me to complete many tasks quickly. I try to fix errors and show solutions.
Cons
What I like the least is that it is not available for some platforms as free software and does not allow me to see how it would work on that system.

“I've used CostPoint to track recorded work time.
Pros
Once I got the hang of it, it became fairly easy to update my timekeeping and sign in, as well as check my available leave balance.
Cons
Adding new programs to my worksheet is not very intuitive and some of the menus feel complex and unclear about their functions.

“I have used Deltek on the Project side and the Accounting side. Very positive experience!
Pros
I find the software intuitive and very easy to use. All modules seem to flow together seamlessly from project setup to billing.
Cons
There are not many things I don't like about Deltek Costpoint. Compared to other accounting software, it is the best!

“Great functionality but not easy to use
Pros
Due to the nature of our work, I found it to be a great product to use when working on government contracts.
Cons
The software is not user-friendly. It took me quite some time to learn how to use it properly, and the reporting function is complicated.

“I had to use CostPoint for work before.
Pros
It's feature-rich and does just about everything I need it to do. Also, the modular nature of the software means that I can add additional functionality as needed.
Cons
The learning curve is steep, and the software is expensive. I would not recommend using Costpoint without some level of outside training.

“Terrible timekeeping system for employees and my company.
Pros
This software is useful when it works, to bill time for which I hope to get paid. That's about it, and the former requirements are not always met to guarantee that outcome.
Cons
I used Deltek about six years ago and now again (it's changed for the worse). I've always had a single charge code to worry about, so that's easy. That said, basic functions of this iteration (account setup, login from various browsers, password reset, etc.) are abysmal. I've had to contact my company at least once a day regarding issues simply logging into my sheet (various browsers, two different computers) and once just to find my charge code. Corporate always has to get involved or intervene. This is supposed to be a timekeeping system for logging hours I get paid for. Who is paying for all the work to deal with the problems of this unreliable software? It shouldn't take me numerous attempts across different browsers and devices to access an application with a single username, password, and domain login. My company shouldn't have to "help" its employees enter their own time.

“Ultimate GovCon Compliance
Pros
Deltek pushes this ERP solution to all Government Contractors now, no matter the size of the business. As a GovCon accounting/business system SME, I would not recommend this system to businesses with less than 100 FTE / 5M annual revenue.
Cons
Setup and maintenance are not for the average user. Training is a bit scarce unless I hire a consultant. It's very expensive if I want full integration. Support from the manufacturer is fair at best.

“Good product that meets our needs
Pros
Deltek is always making sure they are improving the software. There are lots of add-ons that fit about any need or want I may have as a customer.
Cons
The pricing structure is not great for our small business. Add-ons are great but come with additional costs (of course).

“A few kinks but easy to use
Pros
The platform is decently organized by Employee/Salary information and Leave information, making it simple to manage either, and the accrual process is easy as well. I manage employee data and leave data, but I am not an expert on any of the other system capabilities.
Cons
I've had issues with file feeds that have taken a long time to resolve. There are a few manual processes I need to do during the accrual process that seem like they should be automated (like removing duplicate beginning balance records when an employee goes from one type of leave to another in the same year).

“Extremely Buggy and Not User Friendly
Pros
Time-entry is okay on this product, but otherwise, I do not like anything about this product. It is really not user-friendly.
Cons
It is very difficult for me to submit expense reports, and the system is very buggy. First, the system is really difficult to use. I've had to help three coworkers submit expense reports because it was too complicated. I can't save an expense report unless everything is perfect, and the error messages are often vague and not helpful. The system is extremely buggy. The workflow tab only reads one attachment per expense. Sometimes it reads the wrong attachment. I also found a bug where the wrong per diem rate was listed.

“CostPoint Review
Pros
Overall, as someone in the government contracting industry, I find CostPoint to be as reliable a software as any out there. With its wide acceptance across the industry, it is an extremely useful software to be familiar with.
Cons
Costpoint lags behind its competitors in the innovation it offers its users and customers. The software updates are infrequent and often don't result in any major updates or upgrades. There are also many areas of functionality within Costpoint that seem to offer duplicity and could be improved.

“Good product, good customer experience
Pros
This is a good product that continues to evolve. The customer experience is excellent, and their annual conference is a great opportunity for me to learn more about how to better use the product.
Cons
Some things, like expense reporting, are lacking. They are making progress, but this is one area that needs improvement.

“Costpoint learning curve was scary at first, but was easy to navigate once we delved in.
Pros
I like that it is Windows-based and intuitive. I also like that I can switch between systems/screens easily.
Cons
Not being properly trained, the learning curve was difficult as I didn't have one-on-one training. I also don't understand some capabilities.

“Use daily reports work well
Pros
Their just-in-time reporting feature is very useful.
Cons
The contracts model needs more attention. It could be more robust. It really is not functional out of the box.

“Very robust product
Pros
The overall robust features and functionality available within CostPoint make the overall accounting process seem simple to me.
Cons
The multi-step process for most functions is my least favorite thing about Costpoint. I would prefer that within a function, the overall process could streamline a little better.

“Really enjoy all the options available
Pros
I like how multiple applications work together. I really enjoy the ease of access when working between two companies in CP.

It would be really nice to have a keyword search to find charge codes.

“Great system, some learning curves coming from GCS but very easy to use
Pros
This software is very user-friendly. Segmented sections for separate departments make it easy for me to control access. It integrates well with all our other software that ties into Costpoint.
Cons
I do not like having to build queries for every single report. There should be a default query that I can change according to the need.

“Good tool for analytics. Mostly prebuilt reports help
Pros
I am in the BI team, and I find reporting easy. I wish forecasting was as easy as other tools.
Cons
Some joins in Cognos Framework Manager don't exist, and we had to build them again. When the new release comes to market, we have to add them back.

“Great
Pros
I had a chance to speak to the people who understand the product that I work on. It was great to interact with companies that offer similar services.
Cons
It's very complex. The system requires a lot of hands-on interaction for me to become proficient. The integration is great, but with it comes a steep learning curve.
