Float app works without endless menus

Pros

The Float app just works and I don't have to click through a million screens to find what I spent last month or what my budget looks like like I do with American Express. I can peek at my spending and budget in seconds without digging through endless menus. Perfect for when I'm standing at the bus stop and just need to check my balance real quick. Everything's just sitting there waiting for me.

Cons

It drives me absolutely nuts that I have to type in two separate emails every single time I need to send an invoice to more than one person. And that receipt scanner? It's literally just a camera and almost never actually grabs the text so I end up manually typing everything anyway. The rewards could definitely be better but I guess you can't win 'em all.

great for visualising freelance time

Pros

Being a freelancer I really appreciated how Float puts my time and availability right in front of me in a way that actually makes sense. Blocking off client stuff, personal time, keeping track of how booked I am, juggling a million different projects at once it's all really simple.

Cons

Float was clearly built for teams and agencies not solo folks like me. All those resource and capacity features just felt like clutter I'd never touch. I don't need a whole separate tool just to schedule stuff.

Easy to use with self-filter

Pros

This thing is so easy to use. I also really like that I can filter to see just myself when I need to. We're mostly using it to keep a general handle on how we're tracking time across everything.

Cons

Some of the views just have way too much going on. When you're looking at everybody at once it's so crowded and hard to actually read anything.

Schedule is readable and adjustments simple

Pros

The schedule view is actually readable, drag and drop happens fast, you can see capacity forecasts without squinting, adjustments are simple. Float gives you everything you need to actually get organized.

Cons

Certain fields like tags and roles won't budge no matter what you do. And if multiple people are editing at the same time, shifts sometimes glitch out or you have to reload, which totally kills your momentum.

Perfect for balancing team workload

Pros

What gets me most about Float is how it lets me make sure everyone on the team is pulling their weight equally. Everybody performs better because I can plan each project with way more strategy. The monitoring is perfect I can see exactly how work is progressing and spot what needs fixing. It's been huge for hitting our team targets and dealing with any work hiccups the second they pop up.

Cons

Their performance has been rock solid honestly. No glitches, no slowdowns. Everything runs accurate and the tools all talk to each other the way they should.

really easy to get around

Pros

Float is really easy to get around in. Any employee you throw at it can pick it up without a problem.

Cons

I don't have any major complaints about Float. If anything, it would be nice if the loading times were a bit faster

Simple to use with no complications

Pros

It's just so simple to use. No unnecessary complications.

Cons

The interface is just so basic. And the colors they picked? Not great. I get confused trying to find stuff because nothing stands out.

handles project and time management

Pros

Whether it's for yourself or your whole team this tool handles project and time management like a champ.

Cons

It covers a lot of ground but when it comes to assigning more detailed or complicated tasks to staff, it doesn't have the tools Trello or Asana have.

Quick to learn

Pros

Float takes no time to learn and helps me plan out my team's resources like a pro. I can see exactly who's free and hand out tasks without guessing. Plus it plays nice with other tools I'm already running.

Cons

Nothing really terrible but the reporting side could use some love. More ways to look at data and pull reports would actually be helpful.

visual work layout for better management

Pros

Seeing all the work laid out visually means we can manage everything better. Everyone gets a daily plan based on their actual role so the work flows evenly and hits everyone's needs. The production schedule keeps us moving in real time so we can push everything forward together and deliver projects all at once.

Cons

Nothing bothers me and I haven't run into anything that actually made me mad.

Drag and drop scheduling is a dream

Pros

I find it so easy to use. Drag and drop scheduling is a dream, time tracking works great and the whole interface is just clean and simple.

Cons

The Gantt Chart stuff is super basic and when you need to export schedules, your options are pretty limited.

The Best Project Management Software

Pros

Float stands out as a powerful project management tool with realtime project management capabilities resource allocation features draganddrop scheduling and team collaboration tools. It offers customizable views integrations with popular thirdparty software and is valuable for streamlining project management processes.

Cons

While Float offers extensive benefits it's important to note that the cost of its subscriptionbased pricing plans may be a limitation for small businesses or freelancers. Additionally there may be a learning curve to effectively use the software and maximize its features.

Float has improved collaboration among our departments.

Pros

Float has all the features I need for my startup like a robust mobile app so Im not bound to my system while working. And the UI is another thing I appreciate. The app not only enables me to share files with the right people but to be a part of the conversation wherever I am as well. I also find the widgets in Float as quite detailed.

Cons

There’s nothing really deal-breaking for me here, but if I had an issue I know that the customer support team will be kindly receptive to my comments and suggestions. As of now, I would like the possibility of customizing Float according to our company branding.

Total lifesaver for project managers.

Pros

Float is great for project managers as it allows for easy management of time while adding contract workers at the same time. It has great visuals and a smooth UI. My designer has been really appreciative of it and used to have trouble sorting his work week’s flow with our older software.

Cons

It’s a small issue, but we have wasted a lot of time trying to figure out a color scheme for tagging our projects, which could be tagged automatically. Also, entering a project (if it’s not already there) is a bit annoying as well. I just need to have an option to ‘add a project’ when I enter a date or time rather than going out of the search and specifically choosing the add project option. It would just save me time, thats all.

A simplified way of performing project management.

Pros

Float enables us to add jobs and projects quickly. The helpful color codings make each activity and project stand out for our convenience. It allows us to log larger blocks rather than just the required "logs per minute." We have made better time logs and plans thanks to Float.

Cons

Project planning is not as detailed as we wouldve preferred. The provided tools are currently quite basic. And time tracking, which we use the most, is not available individually.

Amazing data management with a quick search feature..

Pros

Float has an excellent UI and is simple to use. It enables coordination between several resources across multiple projects. It is evident that they have given priority to usability, effective use of screen space, and straightforward navigation. The main highlight is surely the search feature with which a single word can yield extensive information, including tags.

Cons

One significant problem with Float is that anyone can alter literally any value for any field. This basically means that lists of task names, clients, job descriptions, etc. cannot be centrally controlled. This makes it challenging to analyze data across records if there are multiple users of the system.

Although this is very useful software, it cannot always provide a smooth experience..

Pros

It has an interface like that of a calendar, which is very welcoming for new users. Float is exceptionally easy to use, and the calendar-like part has encouraged our teams to use it. Since the user experience is constant throughout the entire product, Ive been learning more about Float the more I use it.

Cons

I use a trackpad, and that has been the biggest hurdle in my experience with Float. Sometimes, the software gets buggy and randomly receives a click from my trackpad, which opens up a certain dialogue box and ends up wasting my time.

Easy-to-use software that gets the job done!

Pros

I had a difficult time comprehending trainer occupancy before we had Float, and it was impossible to plan training across multiple regions well in advance. Thanks to Float, I can quickly see whats coming up and give stakeholders accurate reports so they know how busy we are and will be. I can quickly assess how much time we spent on what at the end of the quarter.

Cons

I access Float as a member and a project manager, and switching between those can be difficult. I think it would be wonderful if there were a "Department Manager" role that allowed those with this level of access to change the calendar for anyone in their department but not those in other departments.
