“saves so much time”
Pros
Feels really user friendly. Creating invoices is simple and since I send invoices constantly, it ends up saving me a ton of time.
Cons
There's nothing I dislike about it. It's geared more toward small businesses so if you're a bigger company, you may want to check out other options.

“made onboarding simple for us”
Pros
Using it is simple, most people won't need a lot of training to get started. It works well for small businesses that don't have the budget to train new staff on a more complex system.
Cons
Feels like its designed for smaller businesses. Once operations start growing, you may want something more efficient since the fit doesn't quite hold up at larger scale.

“reports are thorough”
Pros
Setup and daily use were simple and all the key features were reachable with a click. The reporting was detailed and covered what we needed and whenever a question came up, customer service responded quickly.
Cons
It seems built more for smaller companies, once we scaled up, it couldn't handle our growing requirements or the needs of our customers.

“User friendly tool!”
Pros
This is a super simple invoicing and bookkeeping tool for small businesses. It keeps me organized and helps me stay on top of my business finances without a lot of hassle.
Cons
I'm not a fan of how billing scales with the number of clients. That said, the price still feels fair considering the features and services included.

“strong invoice and tax tracking”
Pros
So helpful! Its great for keeping tabs on both transactional and tax records without feeling complicated. I also get solid invoice and billing management, including the ability to track paid and overdue invoices. Also, it lets me generate and send professional invoices which has made my billing process look more polished.
Cons

“Positive experience!”
Pros
The interface feels really simple and it's quick to enter time, projects and expenses. Reporting is a strong point too, I was able to dig into the numbers and analyze the data without much hassle.
Cons
Honestly there isn't much to complain about. I used it daily for three years, genuinely enjoyed it and have recommended it because it just works.

“easy invoicing”
Pros
FreshBooks feels really simple for handling day-to-day business admin. I've used it to track expenses, create and send invoices and log/manage time and it keeps everything organized so getting paid is less of a headache. The reporting is also easy to read and it's convenient that it works on both desktop and mobile.
Cons
Downside is pricing... costs can add up as the business scales. A few more advanced accounting tools aren't as complete as some competitors and you're also dependent on having an internet connection. If you're moving over from another system, the transition can take a bit of time.

“Account shutdown without refunds”
Pros
It did work properly while my account was still active, right up until they closed it without any explanation. Because of what happened, I strongly suggest keeping your data stored elsewhere, there's no clear way to get your information back once they decide to shut you down.
Cons
My account was terminated without any reason given and the support team then stopped responding to my emails. I'm in waterproofing and during the free trial, plus a few days after I paid, I was able to generate quotes without any problems. After that, they shut the account down, refused to say why and wouldn't offer a refund. I spent a lot of time migrating those quotes into their system and now I'm forced to start over in a different app. I can't recommend this for small businesses especially if you haven't got your data saved in more than one place because tracking down all the quotes you previously sent could take a while. I previously used the service for another business that only had around 2-3 transactions per month for over two years so I felt safe trying it again for this new business with higher activity... but that trust didn't pan out.

“Has great features”
Pros
Has a lot going for it especially when it comes to creating consistent invoices, setting up a client without hassle and getting quick status reports on performance and outstanding invoices. It also makes employee expense entry simple and the whole workflow sits in a clean, easy-to-navigate interface.
Cons
Once your billing volume grows, you eventually have to work with other tools.. particularly for accountants who need certain access. This year, the integration with QuickBooks was removed (it seems more like a QuickBooks-side change) and that change was enough for us to stop using FreshBooks after 15+ years. We just outgrew it as our invoicing ramped up but it really served us well for a long time.

“auto-billing that works well”
Pros
Comes with a set of features that's genuinely helped organize our billing process. The client auto-billing and auto-payment functions feel easy and they make it simpler for clients to pay while keeping their payment details stored securely. Also, it plays nicely with other tools which makes the whole workflow more efficient. There's also mobile app support so billing tasks can be handled on the go without losing momentum.
Cons
The only thing I'd call out is that the learning curve didn't feel fully adaptive at first. That said, I haven't run into any real issues with it.

“very efficient”
Pros
The invoicing tool is really efficient, it lets us create nicely branded invoices and makes it simple to request payments from clients. Also, the reporting features are detailed and accurate so we can keep a close eye on our financial health without guesswork. The budgeting and expenses tracking is also strong especially with receipt capture which helps us stay within the limits of our budget.
Cons
Nothing negative to report so far. The experience has been consistently smooth and we haven't run into anything we didn't like.

“great expense tracking for taxes”
Pros
Love how im able to track every expense connected to my business bank account and the app also lets me sort them into different categories. That organization really helps when it's time to do my taxes.
Cons
When I pay by credit card, the tool doesn't let me break the charges down into individual transactions. It only records the monthly payment as one entry so I can't log each transaction that makes up that total.

“a dependable tool”
Pros
It has been my invoicing setup for more than five years and I genuinely enjoy using it. The online checkout links, recurring billing and estimates with signatures cover the core stuff I need to run my business smoothly.
Cons
I don't have many complaints at all. The only part I wasn't thrilled about was that payments used to take a bit too long to land in our account but that delay has improved over time.

“we rely on it!”
Pros
Feels like a well-known, trusted option for business accounting and that confidence matters. It also comes packed with a solid set of features so there's plenty you can do without needing to jump to other tools right away.
Cons
Seems like there might be other software options that go even further with features designed specifically to running a Canadian business.

“Excellent project tracking”
Pros
This tool is really simple to work with and the extra built-in features are genuinely useful for service-based businesses. Sending proposals is quick and you can roll those into estimates or invoices without much hassle. I also appreciated the scheduling side... being able to set up payments in a structured way helps a lot. The profitability tracking for each project is another standout especially since it accounts for labor and other costs so you can see where things actually stand.
Cons
For solo operators, the pricing can be steep relative to the core features. On top of the monthly subscription, the credit card processing fees add up so the overall cost is hard to justify unless you'll regularly use the extra features it bundles in.

“Freshbooks saves time”
Pros
My favorite thing is how quickly I was able to get up and running. The payment tiers felt really reasonable and it's been a big improvement for me to send professional invoices and statements directly through the platform instead of using random Excel sheets or Google Docs. Clients seem to respond better when the documents look polished. It also makes it simple to send out professional quotes when I need to.
Cons
One part I didn't care for was the GL categories since they don't show numbers. I'm used to having traditional GL codes so it took some adjustment. It's possible they've changed that since I last used it (back in 2021) but at the time I couldn't really map it to the way I'm accustomed to working with GL codes.

“My review...”
Pros
Using it for everyday estimates and invoicing is pretty simple. I was also able to get mileage tracking without paying extra fees.
Cons
Considering the price, it lacks several add-ons and a bunch of features that you can find in other software. Switching would be a lot of work so I've just kept using it. The tracking mode isn't 100% accurate and it won't automatically email me a copy of my invoice or estimate, finding past documents can be a little tricky and they only keep them for a limited period.

“had a great experience”
Pros
I keep coming back to it whenever I need to create invoices since it's genuinely simple and helps me produce really polished, professional-looking invoice layouts. The financial reporting is also a standout, everything is clear enough to track our financial health and stay on top of how the business is running. Setup doesn't demand any technical know how so the learning curve stays short and I can get moving quickly. Also, the automated payment reminders are a lifesaver for chasing down overdue payments without extra manual work. Customer support has been excellent too, the team is responsive and available when I need help.
Cons
No real downsides have shown up for me so far. I honestly haven't run into anything I dislike with it.
