“helpful teamwork”
Pros
Keeping projects organized and moving according to plan is much easier with this collaboration tool. The reporting feature is especially useful for internal communication and it improves collaboration and workflow for developers. It also makes a lot of sense for companies looking to reduce costs.
Cons
Tasks that could be finished faster in other task management tools ended up taking longer here.

“highly rewarding once learned”
Pros
There are a lot of features packed into it so it takes a bit of time to get familiar with everything but once that clicks, it works really well.
Cons
It's definitely complex though not in a negative way; you just need to spend a little time understanding how it works at first.

“collaborative development”
Pros
I am amazed by how well it supports teamwork across every phase of a project. It gives the whole team a shared space to collaborate efficiently and the source code security built into the CI/CD pipeline is excellent. The version control system is also very amazing especially with the way it keeps separate copies of each branch. On top of that it has helped a lot with continuous development, code builds and managing live projects.
Cons
There are still a few areas where it could improve. Conflict resolution and branch merging can sometimes be challenging for users. The dashboards would be much more useful if they included deeper analytical insights and it would also be better if users could create and manage multiple Git repositories inside a single project.

“easy to use”
Pros
Exploring the platform is very easy. The interface is clear and simple and all the key links you need for working with a repository are neatly placed in the sidebar which makes navigation easy. The code review and issue tracking features are excellent. One thing I really appreciate is being able to reference issues and merge requests by their identifiers in a comment and have those mentions automatically turn into links. The option to run deployable GitLab instances is also a very valuable feature from a security standpoint.
Cons
The CI/CD area does feel a bit behind Github. On Github you can look through predefined CI templates and get started quickly with a common project setup but I have not seen an equivalent option in this one, at least not from what I could tell.

“collaboration across teams”
Pros
Working on one project with multiple people is one of the biggest advantages. Team members can commit from different computers and locations which makes collaboration much more practical.
Cons
Getting comfortable with the Git command line can be difficult if you have never worked with it before. New users usually need some training to use it properly.

“private repos and flexible collaboration”
Pros
It offers free private repositories at no cost. It also comes with a complete project management system with all the features needed to deploy just about any project. On top of that, it is very flexible when it comes to collaboration, updating work and managing tickets.
Cons
A downside with this software is that the user interface feels a bit slower than other systems. There are also some situations where real-time updates are not handled very well.

“extensive built-in dev tools”
Pros
Built-in features are very complete and cover a wide range of areas involved in the software development process, from source code management and user access control to project activities and planning.
Cons
Few parts still have room to grow especially the issues and board features. Other tools, such as Jira, offer these capabilities with more advanced options and deeper functions.

“Highly recommended”
Pros
Over the past few months it has become my go-to DevOps platform and I'd absolutely recommend it. The interface is clean and very easy to navigate. It's an excellent starting point for anyone getting into automation and CI/CD. The whole product seems built around being simple, easy and fast and it really delivers on that. It has genuinely made our work much better and we're very happy with it.
Cons
I'm satisfied with pretty much everything in this tool. The only thing I'd like to see improved is the way file conflicts are handled.

“open-source code review powerhouse”
Pros
Reviewing codebase changes is very easy and it comes with standard CI/CD capabilities for continuous integration. I'm also able to access logs across the entire project which is really helpful. On top of that, it's open source.
Cons
Because it includes so many features and functions, it can be difficult to learn how to use everything efficiently. The interface is also a bit complicated to navigate.

“powerful ci/cd pipelines”
Pros
Beyond being a popular Git repository it really shines with CI/CD because the pipeline can be fully customized. I'm using it right now to deploy a new Docker image to Kubernetes every time code gets merged from a development branch into the master branch. It also automatically runs a SonarQube scan along with other tests which saves a lot of manual work.
Cons
When there are a lot of branches, it can be pretty easy to lose track of where you are. It's also easy to forget to choose the correct branch from the dropdown menus before merging.

“Top pick for dev teams”
Pros
As a developer this is like one of the best tools out there. The way it works, how simple it is to use and even the company's open culture are all things worth appreciating and learning from.
Cons
If you are not a developer, getting started can be difficult and beginners would benefit from more customer support. That said once you spend time with it and really understand how it works, those challenges mostly disappear.

Pros
Installing and running it without paying was really useful because it let me test everything first. It also works on most devices as long as there's an internet connection which makes it very convenient to use from different places.
Cons

“Excellent fit for our workflow”
Pros
It has been a very capable platform that fits really well into our development workflow. We use the self-hosted open-source version and we have not run into any major limitations. We especially value its compatibility with SAML and SCIM.
Cons
Compared with some competing tools, it offers slightly fewer integrations. We also ran into a limitation with our continuous integration setup but overall we are still very satisfied with it.
