“devops pipeline made simple”
Pros
This has made our DevOps work feel much more manageable. Setting up both the build pipeline and the deployment pipeline was easy and smooth. It also offers a lot of extensions which helps make the entire build process run very efficiently.
Cons
There is not really anything major to complain about but when I compare it with other open-source CI tools, it does feel a bit expensive at times.

“simple UI for multi-cloud”
Pros
Keeping code maintainable is easier with this and it fits well when working on a multi-cloud strategy. The interface is clean and simple so even beginners can understand the overall workflow without much trouble. It works really well for pipelines, integrations and deploying code.
Cons
I run into issues sometimes when trying to implement it with JIRA.

“organized collaboration and issue tracking”
Pros
Beyond standard version control it comes with a really handy issue tracking system with support for custom labels, milestone markers and more. Its continuous integration setup was easy to work with and performed reliably. That helped create a well-structured workspace where our team could collaborate effectively across development, QA and deployment.
Cons
It did feel like the platform was missing some of the more advanced customization options that a bigger enterprise might want.

“top-notch CI and collaboration”
Pros
GitLab's Continuous Integration tools are among the best available and they're also pretty easy to work with. It's also an excellent platform for software versioning and team collaboration.
Cons
There's definitely a some practice required for people who are new to it. It also lacks quite a few features when you compare it with other version control tools.

“works brilliantly with kubernetes”
Pros
Everything runs exactly as it should. The integration with containers and Kubernetes is really well done. Another thing that stands out is the ability to add descriptions and pages to projects and jobs and it feels much better implemented than Jenkins in comparison.
Cons
It could use a few more features along with additional options and configuration choices for certain jobs.

“Dependable Git hosting for teams”
Pros
For a small research team it covers pretty much everything we need from a Git hosting platform. The source control works flawlessly and the full set of tools has been consistently dependable. I have not run into any downtime at all.
Cons
A downside is that it costs a bit more than GitHub while offering mostly the same core features. If you do not need the more advanced documentation capabilities, choosing it can feel somewhat unnecessary.

“powerful code quality controls”
Pros
This tool delivers efficiently when it comes to supporting high-quality code deployments and helping teams work better together. While source control and repository hosting are at the core of it, the platform goes far beyond that by offering a wide range of tools and permissions that help make sure only the right people can commit code and that the code being merged meets quality standards. Features such as code reviews, pipeline checks and automated test integrations make it hard to imagine poor-quality or bug-heavy code slipping into production or protected branches.
Cons
To be honest it is difficult to point to any serious downsides with a tool this capable. Once everything is set up correctly, most things work very well so the complaints that come to mind feel more like minor irritations than actual problems. Most of them are tied to the interface rather than the development workflow itself. One thing I would really like to see is a dark mode option. Since developers spend so much time staring at screens, having a darker interface would be much easier on the eyes. Another annoyance is how notifications work across sub-repositories. We have organized it into separate teams, each with access to its own folders or repositories but when anyone in any of those sub-repos gets access, opens a merge request or comments on one, everyone receives an email about it. That can get frustrating pretty quickly and while I am not sure whether this can be adjusted at the user level, I would definitely appreciate better control over those notifications.

“fantastic pipeline and docker support”
Pros
It has been a very user-friendly and took almost no time to learn. The scripting is neatly organized which makes development easy. I also really appreciate the Docker support at every stage since it gives us a stable environment for builds and testing.
Cons
Honestly I do not have many complaints about it. The only limitation that comes to mind is that the pipeline setup feels geared mostly toward developers and it would be helpful to have a visual interface for designing pipelines for non-programmers or newcomers.
