simple setup for test automation

Pros

Using this application is very easy especially if you have worked with tools like GitHub before. It also connects really well with Git tools such as SourceTree and the setup process is especially simple. We use it for our test automation workflow and it has helped us move faster through the whole process, from creating test cases all the way to running them.

Cons

We really have not run into any problems or found anything to dislike. It has been an excellent addition to our software development and testing workflow.

Excellent tool

Pros

Right from the first time using it the look and feel was excellent and very simple. It also lets us set different user roles which helps protect our code and prevents just anyone from merging changes.

Cons

The setup for continuous development is not my favorite. I think that part could be made more user-friendly.

powerful ci/cd and git integration

Pros

Among the online tools available, this one is like the best choice for setting up CI/CD pipelines especially since you can create a limited number of them for free. The version control features are easy as well and I really appreciate how well it integrates with Git on my local machine. Creating branch merge requests is simple and they automatically appear on the dashboard whenever new code is pushed to the repository. It's also very simple to track activity within the tool.

Cons

The interface still needs a lot of improvement and can be a bit complicated to use. The dashboard also doesn't provide as much useful information as GitHub does.

outstanding source control value

Pros

It covers all the essential features you need in a source control solution and the pricing is quite competitive as well.

Cons

GitHub may be a bit more user-friendly and offers a broader set of features.

publishing feels rewarding

Pros

Getting started can be a little challenging but once you find your rhythm and become familiar with it, publishing your work on it feels incredibly satisfying... we've all been through that stage.

Cons

Like I mentioned the beginning can be tough especially when you're trying to learn it on your own. Still, the sense of relief and accomplishment once it finally clicks more than makes up for that initial struggle.

detailed repository logs and docs

Pros

Beyond the detailed repository features, one thing that really helps is being able to check the log history for every merge request. It also gives us a convenient place to store related documentation without much hassle.

Cons

One issue is that warning or error messages shown to users don't stand out enough so they're pretty easy to miss.

free start with room to test

Pros

Being able to get started for free was the biggest advantage for us. It gave our team enough time to evaluate the functions properly with input from multiple stakeholders before making any commitment.

Cons

It is not a major downside but the Premium plan only includes 50GB of storage. It would be better if they offered extra storage options for users managing larger databases.

powerful ci/cd for projects

Pros

We keep all of our projects on this tool and it offers a lot of useful features for a data scientist. One of the best parts is the CI/CD feature which is really easy to set up and work with.

Cons

The recent UI changes haven't been my favorite. The site feels a bit too overwhelming at times and I'd honestly prefer a lighter, cleaner version.

Stands above the rest!

Pros

Among all the Git repository hosting services we've worked with it was the best. The interface was clean and easy to move around, pricing feels reasonable and the customer support was better than what I could get from other options on the market.

Cons

I still enjoy using it but lately it doesn't seem to be keeping up as well with its competitors. Because of that I'm considering switching to a better alternative.

gitlab makes coding clearer

Pros

After using it for over a year it has been really simple to work with for both project management and software development. One of the best things is being able to view the old code and the updated code side by side in different colors.

Cons

Haven't come across any downsides in this tool. It's a really good tool for developers.

Bug tracking is amazing

Pros

Working with it alongside my team for application repositories has been really helpful. It's simple to manage and use and the fact that it lets you have as many repositories as you need for free is a huge advantage. That makes it much easier to keep everything organized in one clear system and stay on top of bug tracking.

Cons

It's interface feels quite different from other competing platforms so it can take some time to get used to if you are not already familiar with how it works.

packed with features

Pros

This platform offers a huge range of features while still being easy and simple to use. The documentation is extensive, customer support is reliable and the level of customization gives a lot of flexibility.

Cons

Pricing can add up quickly especially for companies with a lot of users. Also some lesser-known third-party tools are not supported for integration.

good tool for team collaboration

Pros

It has been really positive experience because this tool gives development teams a much better way to collaborate and improve the quality of the code produced for each project. It goes beyond the standard code development tools too. Along with code review, creation, builds, testing and deployment, it also helps keep projects moving faster, supports secure work and makes the whole team more productive. In our case it is one of the tools we rely on every day to plan, build, manage and even fix issues in our code. Most features in this tool are very simple to use and it integrates well with other tools which makes it especially useful during the testing cycle.

Cons

Even though the platform is generally easy to use, a few tasks like editing files can still feel a bit confusing so making that part simpler would help users a lot. On top of that the paid plan can be pricey which means smaller teams or students may find that the free version is enough for what they need.

safest option for dev team

Pros

This one is already the standard when it comes to configuration management and this platform feels like the most widely used option for remote and distributed development. In a lot of situations people just install Git on each machine and work through the terminal but for team development especially when an external public repository is not an option, setting up and managing a Git repository with it seems like the safest and most standard way to handle Git.

Cons

It may simply be something users need to get accustomed to but I would still like clearer visual cues and more beginner-friendly messages when conflicts happen. More than that it would be helpful if the interface did a better job of explaining the overall concept of Git configuration from the start so new users can understand it more easily.

flexible deployment and pricing

Pros

I appreciate how flexible the installation options are. You can choose between a self-hosted setup or the cloud version and both come with several pricing tiers ranging from free all the way to ultimate. The free plan already includes plenty of features that handle the needs of basic development without any trouble. Once more advanced tools are needed, upgrading to a higher tier is easy and all the information already stored stays intact.

Cons

Based on my actual experience with it, I can't think of anything I dislike about it.

nice version control platform

Pros

Working with this tool makes team collaboration much more flexible and I appreciate that it is open source. Using specific commands, I can reach files stored in different folders on a computer without much trouble. Its features also make it possible to sync files across the platform, apply changes and keep track of multiple versions of the work that has been done.

Cons

Security is not as strong as it should be since it seems possible for others to access our files. The command structure is also complicated and the workflow is very strict leaving little room for mistakes even though corrections can still be made afterward.
