“Hightail saves the day

Pros

The ability to upload large files, the speed of uploading and the convenience for clients to download files from an email notification make the experience seamless, particularly when working with non-tech-savvy clients.

Cons

I haven't been able to find a desktop app that allows me to simply drag and drop files to initiate a transfer.

The product is very user-friendly. I have had frustrating experiences with other software, but never with Hightail.

I have absolutely no complaints or cons whatsoever. I am completely satisfied with the service.

Pros

Hightail offers a very intuitive uplink portal, and it is reasonably priced for small businesses.

Cons

I initially started with "yousendit," but the file sharing company reinvented itself with a name change that had no connection to file sharing. Additionally, Hightail discontinued a great Outlook add-on tool without any warning.

The software is very user-friendly and ensures fast dispatch. It has proven to be reliable as it allows me to track my dispatches. My customers have never encountered any issues when downloading files.

Cons

I love the software. The only issue I face is with internet speed. When sending large images, if there isn't enough bandwidth, the upload process may be slow. That is not Hightail's fault, though.

The general process is simple and easy to navigate.

Cons

It immediately starts saving an audio file and then stops out of nowhere. After a stall, you have to start over if you want it to send. Lately, it has been experiencing significant instability during the sending process, which is quite alarming.

The ease of uploading high-resolution images and privately sharing them with others using a link and access code is fantastic.

Cons

It takes a while to browse through images one by one. I usually advise people to download the whole album and browse them outside of Hightail, and then delete what they don't want.

The website interface feels awkward. Particularly the black background with white text, which makes it challenging to locate the cursor. The overall design lacks elegance.

Pros

As a video producer, I find it fantastic that I can upload a rough cut, share the link with clients and gather feedback all in one place. There are plenty of excellent tools for providing feedback, such as the ability to draw on the screen.

Cons

I often find that my clients are unsure about how to provide feedback at specific points in a video. It is not immediately apparent to them that they need to click on the actual video screen before typing their comments. Most of them simply click on the pause button and then enter their comments. As a result, all the comments end up at the beginning of the video, and it becomes challenging for me to understand which specific shots they are referring to.

Pros

Running a transcription agency, I find that my customers find it extremely easy to use my upload link, and they also like the secure service. Personally, I have been relying on Hightail as a stable platform for sending audio files to my colleagues. I also like the feature that shows a record of sent files and confirms their receipt.

Cons

The black background of the website is not to my liking. It's difficult to see, especially on my monitor, and it feels a bit cluttered. Searching for sent files without scrolling down the page is also problematic. Additionally, they used to send alerts when there were issues, but they seem to have stopped doing that.

This product is very intuitive and user-friendly. It is easy to access stored data and refer back to previous processed files.

Cons

Unfortunately, expired links are not accessible for reference by the owner or sender. This means I have to keep items on the active list longer than I would prefer, just so the client can still access them.

Pros

Many of our clients prefer not to conduct reviews on platforms like Vimeo or YouTube due to potential interference with their SEO. With Hightail, I can ensure that they can view or download files without any problems.

Cons

Even though I've used my contact list multiple times, I still have to manually copy and paste email addresses. It would be more convenient if they would automatically pop up as I start typing them in.
