“Simple, Easy-to-Use File Transfer Program
Pros
Hightail is very simple to use. I can easily drag and drop files of any size, and then send a link for the recipient to access the file.
Cons
When recipients receive an email that simply says "John has sent you a file," it might be better to find a more resounding way to convey the message. With the abundance of spam these days, an extra step is necessary to assure them it is legitimate.

“Easy for photo storage
Pros
I rely a lot on Hightail. Whether it is for our photos, brand standards or sharing files, images, and videos with teammates, this platform comes in handy. Sometimes, the file size is too large to send via email and that is when Hightail saves the day.
Cons
In the five years I have been using Hightail, I haven't come across any issues.

“Send large files
Pros
Hightail simplifies the process of sending large files. Whenever new staff members join our team, we have multiple files to share and Hightail makes it unproblematic.
Cons
The user interface could use some improvement in terms of user-friendliness. It is relatively basic, which suits our needs but could be more intuitive.

“Product with an identity crisis
Pros
Back when it was called YouSendIt, everything seemed easier, and I am not quite sure why. However, after the transition to Hightail, my small ad agency found it a bit confusing. All we wanted was a simple and efficient file-sharing solution at an affordable price. Instead, additional features were added, which I suspect most companies never utilized or required. Side by side complexity and expenses increased. Think of the Snip Tool so uncomplicated, easy to use and fast. Nowadays, when a client sends a Hightail, Google Doc or any other file, I simply decline and request a Zip, Word, or PDF file instead.
Cons
The branding isn't great, the software can be complicated to use, it lacks user-friendliness, it's overly secure and overall, it can be a bit of a hassle to use it.

“Probably the best I have used
Pros
Using it is fairly easy and the user interface is pleasant. It allows the sharing of massive files.
Cons
There isn't much to complain about, really. They have a data cap, which can bother me at times, but I understand that it is necessary.

“Useful, But There Are Better Alternatives
Pros
With the ability to upload, store and share multiple large files, I can easily organize them into projects which makes it manageable to handle multiple projects side by side. The integration with OneDrive and Dropbox is also beneficial for users of those services.
Cons
Considering its price, unless you are a power user, you will likely find better alternatives. While the higher-tiered plans are competitive, the same cannot be said for the lower tiers. Personally, I have experienced issues where email notifications to recipients often fail to be delivered, but this is a minor problem when dealing with low usage volumes.

“Good for online proofing, file sharing and creative project management
Pros
Sending graphics to clients for feedback is a not a problematic process with Hightail. The annotation tools are user-friendly for anyone. Moreover, collecting files from others is as simple as sharing a link, which they can use to directly upload and send files to me.
Cons
Customizability is limited, especially when it comes to custom branding. Users are required to sign in to leave feedback.

“good alternative to dropbox
Pros
I use this software to collaborate with my clients on the new products we introduce to our line. For instance, if clients cannot access Dropbox, I upload the files to Hightail. It is a user-friendly and reliable solution.
Cons
There is not much which I did not like about Hightail. It is a fantastic software and a great alternative to Dropbox.

“Hightail is the Answer for Finicky Firewalls and Filesharing
Pros
Hightail is the only software that has successfully allowed us to share file despite our strict firewall. We have tried numerous other solutions, but they were either blocked, too expensive or had size limitations. Since I interact with our creative agency on a daily basis and sharing large files is essential, Hightail is the best software I have discovered for this purpose.
Cons
Nothing at all. It is easy to use, there are no space limitations and it works perfectly fine with my firewall (unlike Dropbox).

“A secure and easy to use transfer service
Pros
I have been using Hightail occasionally for over ten years. It is an incredibly easy to use file transfer platform. For most individuals, the free account is sufficient, and the pricing for higher storage levels is reasonable.
Cons
I don't think Hightail has as prominent a presence and integration with other software suites like OneDrive or Google Drive in the business world. While people are aware of it, I am uncertain about how well it meshes with other platforms.

“Free version
Pros
Uploading large documents has become a simple task with Hightail, and the upload time is quite quick. Additionally, I receive email notifications, which I can even forward if I forgot to include someone in the original recipient list.
Cons
I use the free version, so there is a limit on how long the file remains available for download. It is not very poor as I get I get a month's worth of time. The free version is enough for me since I only use it around ten times a year or so.

“Love the simplicity of it
Pros
One of the things I love about Hightail is how unbelievably easy it is for everyone involved to use. Whether you are sending or receiving files, the process is simple, which is the key when using this service with clients.
Cons
I find it a bit pricey when it comes to larger files. I would prefer a more affordable plan than the $12 Pro version that offers additional options compared to the free version. Currently, with the free version, I can't set an expiration date or password. However, I don't use the service frequently enough to justify paying for the Pro version on a monthly basis.

“Excellent next level file sharing app
Pros
The level of control Hightail provides for sharing files is outstanding. In the past, we used to share Dropbox links, but they lacked security and the ability to track file downloads. Hightail solves those issues.
Cons
There isn't much to dislike. However I wish the team pricing was a bit lower, but it's still fair compared to the alternatives.

“Hightail Is An Effective Tool
Pros
Hightail eases the process of transfer of massive files among users, making remote work more convenient. Once it's set up, it runs seamlessly.
Cons
I am curious to know about the features that I might not be using and what is they are beneficial for me. As majorly, I use it for file transfers only.

“File Sharing software
Pros
Sharing files, including videos and pictures is a piece of cake with Hightail. We use it to send product videos to clients and easily collaborate on fixes. It is also cost-effective compared to other software options.
Cons
The most significant drawback of Hightail for me is obtaining a monthly payment receipt. It is very cumbersome and time-consuming to locate. It is illogical that I have to search for it when it should simply be emailed to me. Only one client uses it because there are better, reasonable priced pricier software options are available.

“Tech Novice Friendly File Sharing
Pros
I can securely share and download large files by simply providing a link. It is a great software without a doubt!
Cons
I didn't encounter any issues with the software. It was easy to have access to previously sent files, and the user interface even remembered email addresses I had used before and filled them in automatically.

“Change to Hightail was a bad deal, porno name lost me some customers!
Pros
Back when it was called YouSendIt, it was very simple and user-friendly. I used it daily without any issues and my customers loved it.
Cons
I used to work with numerous schools and colleges. However, when the name changed to Hightail, their email servers started blocking the term "Hightail" as if it were porn spam. Consequently, I received complaints about job submissions not being received. Customer service is noe aup to the mark, and the beloved app was replaced with a clunky online interface that lacked intuitiveness. Canceling was a challenge. I was relieved when my credit card expired!

“Great for large files and folders
Pros
Hightail simplifies the process of sharing large files and folders both internally and externally. You can create "spaces" where you can store various types of files and share the space's link with anyone.
Cons
Safari doesn't support uploading folders, but I found it easy to overcome this limitation by using Chrome and uploading folders to spaces that way. This was the only hiccup I encountered with the service.

“Hightail -- One of the better FTP Software Packages Available
Pros
When it comes to FTP software programs, Hightail works seamlessly and doesn't require bypassing our firewall to retrieve files.
Cons
It is not cost-effective to use, and if you only rely on the free version to retrieve files, you are constantly bombarded with requests to upgrade to a paid version. This is something quite annoying!
