great for integrations

Pros

Being able to connect it with several apps like Zendesk, Salesforce and Slack has been a big plus. It makes customer communication more convenient and helps teams share information across departments much more efficiently.

Cons

The search function could be more user-friendly. Keywords do not always pull up the tickets you need so this part still needs some refinement.

Reliable ticketing

Pros

It's pretty much the industry standard and the interface is easy enough to work with without much hassle. It does a really good job of keeping stakeholders updated on ticket changes and the Kanban-style view is a nice feature to have as well.

Cons

One issue is that when multiple people try to edit the same ticket together, things can get messy. It would be much better if they added more real-time collaboration features.

Bug tracking

Pros

Keeping track of bugs and issues is really easy with this especially when working with a large team. Approving, rejecting and editing issues is all easy to manage and the whole process works reliably.

Cons

At times, it does slow down when dealing with very large workflows and projects. It's a small drawback but I still notice it in my day-to-day use.

Task tracking options

Pros

Okay so tracking work and task progress with this app has been really helpful. It includes plenty of status options to choose from, such as completed, resolved and in progress. Beyond regular tasks, it also lets you categorize work in different ways, like issues, projects, fixes and more which makes organizing everything much better.

Cons

There really are not many downsides to mention. That said, it could offer even more features to better support developers. One issue I have run into is that tabular data cannot be pasted into the comments section.

Dev tracking

Pros

Bug tracking works really well here and handling assignments and status changes is very easy. It also makes story development and release tracking much more manageable.

Cons

Submitting bug reports can feel a bit complicated at times because there are too many fields and options to go through. A more standard form with fewer cluttered choices would make the process much quicker.

Fast and feature-rich

Pros

It comes with a lot of features, runs fast and is really handy for organizing and managing your workday.

Cons

Most of the time I use the dashboards and Tempo and Tempo is especially useful for keeping track of time.

Industry standard

Pros

This is an incredibly powerful and highly customizable project management tool. It's basically the industry standard and I haven't come across anything else that matches its level of capability.

Cons

The tradeoff is that the learning curve is pretty steep. Getting assigned work in the system is simple enough but actually learning how to manage projects well with it takes a lot more time and effort.

Easy setup

Pros

Getting started with it was really easy. It didn't take much prior experience to use it properly since most of it is pretty self-explanatory.

Cons

One area that could be better is creating reports from dashboards or boards. Putting together slightly more complex queries also feels like something that could be improved.

Clear visibility

Pros

As a product manager, this has been an incredible tool for keeping things organized and creating clarity across the team. I use it almost every day and it still feels like I've only tapped into a small portion of what it can do. The range of features is honestly astounding and there's so much packed into the software.

Cons

Getting started does take some patience because there's definitely a learning curve. It's not the most user-friendly platform and since it's cloud-based, load times can be slow at times which does get frustrating.

perfect integration

Pros

After more than 10 years of using this product, it has consistently worked well for me without causing any issues. It has always been very helpful for tracking my projects effectively and its integration with most tools definitely boosts overall productivity.

Cons

I honestly have not had any real complaints about this product. That said, I do wish task queries were available through a drag-and-drop option and it would be even better if workflows could be created, saved as templates and then applied directly to projects within the same domain.

Team planning

Pros

After spending a bit of time with it, I can honestly say this is an excellent tool for software and game development. It has really helped our whole team organize priorities and assign tasks more effectively.

Cons

The interface isn't bad at all but it can be confusing for new users at first. You usually need a bit of guidance or training from a coworker before everything starts to make sense.

Scrum planning

Pros

Our team relies on it to handle day-to-day work tasks and since we follow Agile with Scrum, it fits really well for sprint planning and execution. The interface is well designed, with user stories, backlogs and defects all separated clearly which makes everything easier to track. It also includes burndown charts for scrum masters and that's been especially useful for measuring team productivity and checking how the sprint is progressing.

Cons

Nothing comes to mind at this point. It has met our needs well so far.

Time tracking

Pros

It does a really nice job of letting me track my work hours, create service and project tickets and even set up sub-projects when I need more structure. Updating things is easy and I also appreciate being able to reopen items later if something needs to be revisited.

Cons

The search feature is the part I'd like to see improved. I'm not a fan of having to enter all the search criteria just to locate one specific item and it would be better if that process felt more simple.

Useful boards

Pros

From a software project management standpoint, it covers pretty much everything you need. I spend most of my time on the board view and the custom filters are especially helpful for quickly pulling up the issues assigned to me.

Cons

Managing the backlog can feel a little tough sometimes. It can also be annoying to track down newly created tickets.

Flexible tracking

Pros

One thing I really appreciate is how adaptable the application is when it comes to tracking data. You do need to think things through a bit to make it work for your specific use case but that flexibility is exactly what makes it so useful.

Cons

My biggest frustration with it is how much innovation seems to get pushed onto third-party plugin developers. It ends up feeling a bit like a nickel-and-dime approach.

More than tracking

Pros

When several people are involved in the same work, this really helps keep things moving and gets the job done. It offers more than a basic project management tool which is a nice plus. That said, I wouldn't expect people who aren't project managers to make full use of everything it offers.

Cons

Setting up different responsibility levels is pretty challenging.

Agile boost

Pros

Having the built-in tools all in one place has been a big help and we've finally settled into a routine where we use them consistently. They've made our process more agile than it's ever been, helped us make better use of our time and noticeably increased our overall productivity.

Cons

Getting started was a bit challenging although that tends to happen with any system change. It took some time to understand the different tools and figure out how to use them the way they were intended. After a little training though, we got to a point where we're genuinely happy with everything the platform offers.

Cloud ticketing

Pros

Our team needed a ticket and issue tracking tool and it is clearly one of the most commonly used options out there. From a regular user's perspective, it's fairly easy to work with most of the time. It's also nice that, beyond hosting it on-premises, there's a Cloud version available. That takes a lot off the Systems Team's plate since there's no need to manage servers, backups, security, uptime, fault tolerance and all the other infrastructure responsibilities.

Cons

On the administration side though, the product still feels like it has quite a bit of room for improvement. First something as basic as changing a user's Display Name doesn't seem to be possible for an admin. Maybe that's intentional but it's hard to understand why that would be considered a useful restriction. Instead, the system sends an invitation to the user and only after signing up can they set their own Display Name. Second, admins can sign in as another user to test permissions which is normally a very helpful feature. The problem is that with certain functions while still impersonating that user, the system suddenly switches you back to your own account. That gets confusing fast and defeats the whole point. It also would have been a practical workaround for updating the Display Name issue mentioned above. Third, permission setup is harder than it should be. I tried configuring an account for scripting through the REST API and getting the permissions right with only the minimum privileges needed seemed far more difficult than expected. Finally, the REST API itself is disappointing. The online documentation is frequently out of date some calls fail with errors and even when something runs successfully, it does not always perform the action it is supposed to. That means you can spend time writing code that ends up accomplishing nothing.
