excellent bug tracking

Pros

Working as a Quality Engineer, this tool really helps with tracking bugs and reporting them without much hassle. Setting priorities for bugs is easy which makes it easier for the team to resolve issues in the right order. It also includes useful options for creating stories, epics, bugs, production bugs and sub-tasks. Logging work is simple and the ability to attach images and files is very helpful during reporting and follow-up.

Cons

I honestly haven't run into many issues with it. The only downsides are that it doesn't perform well on a slow internet connection and bugs or stories can't be deleted unless the proper access is granted. In those cases, we have to reach out to the admin to get it done.

flexible tracker

Pros

It's a very customizable issue tracking tool with a lot of flexibility and plenty of really useful features.

Cons

Getting started can feel a bit overwhelming for new users especially if they're not familiar with Agile. It also takes a highly skilled admin to properly customize the platform for a team.

Navigation issues

Pros

One thing that keeps this software useful is how many hooks and APIs it has for connecting with other tools. That makes it widely usable and very versatile and there are a lot of features packed into it.

Cons

Using it day to day is not very user friendly. The navigation is weak, it is pretty easy to lose work or lose track of items without the specific IT number and the way the information hierarchy is set up feels poorly designed.

progress tracking that helps

Pros

This has been really useful for our team when it comes to keeping tabs on everyone's progress on the tasks that matter most to the overall direction of the business.

Cons

At times, it's not very easy to locate exactly what you need and there can also be too many options to sort through.

organized support requests

Pros

Being able to manage and see all of my IT support requests in one place is really important for running a support service well. The priority settings, along with assigning tickets to different views, help me organize my day effectively and keep customers happy because they know I'm actively working on resolving their issues.

Cons

Downside is that the setup and configuration process feels tough and more complicated than it should be. That said, once everything is configured the way I want, I rarely need to go back and change those settings.

helpful notifications

Pros

One thing that really works well is being able to add multiple team members or collaborators to a single ticket so everyone gets notified at the same time. The email updates are also really useful because I don't have to keep logging in and checking for changes.

Cons

The interface feels a little outdated and if it's your first time using it, it can be somewhat confusing and hard to figure out.

reliable alerts

Pros

Since it's used almost everywhere, you end up picking it up naturally over time without much effort. The notification settings are genuinely helpful for keeping communication flowing well especially things like tagging people in comments, adding watchers and subscribing to specific events.

Cons

At the same time, it can feel pretty awkward in some cases and not quite flexible enough. For instance, there's only a single level of subtasks, subtask estimates don't roll up into the parent ticket estimate and when you move subtasks into a sprint, the entire story gets pulled in too which makes having subtasks feel a bit pointless.

resource tracking win

Pros

The best things about it is being able to track the effort of an individual resource across every project they've worked on and it only takes a few simple steps.

Cons

I don't really have any issues with the tool itself but a few plugin integrations could be better. For example, JBehave sometimes fails to load the features or scenarios.

all-in-one integration hub

Pros

One of the great parts of this software is the range of integrations it offers. It connects directly with other APIs like InVision and Adobe XD so everything can be handled in one place. The interface is clean and you can assign users to tasks based on each stage of the process which helps keep the workflow organized.

Cons

Getting to certain areas, like your own dashboard, can sometimes be a bit frustrating because it requires opening extra browser windows. Because of that, the navigation doesn't always feel very simple.

trello integration bonus

Pros

Getting started with it is very easy even for people who do not have much prior experience. The integration with Trello works really well too.

Cons

Mobile app is a bit more limited than the web version and the interface does not feel quite as polished. It is also priced higher than other development project management tools available on the market.

tracking and sprint boards

Pros

Day to day, this is the one tool I rely on most to get the information I need. I use it for bug tracking, sprint review boards and also for writing test cases and test plans especially with the Zephyr plugin working alongside it. It also gives me a lot of flexibility since I can add custom fields, reports and boards. On top of that, I'm able to customize the way bug lists, user stories and tasks are displayed which makes it fit our workflow much better.

Cons

Biggest trouble came when we had to migrate from one project to another. We weren't allowed to delete the old project so we had to create a new one instead and that caused some links to break. The migration also did not preserve the original formatting which made parts of the text much harder to read afterward.

planning with insights

Pros

Working with project tracking and planning across different methods has been the biggest advantage here. Some of our projects run agile, others follow waterfall and a few are hybrid and this has been the most adaptable solution for handling all of them. It gives us strong visibility as well, from burn down charts to smart boards so there's a lot of useful insight built into the platform.

Cons

The only real downside has been the naming and titles which can be a bit confusing for non-technical staff when they're reporting issues. Aside from that, it feels more like a learning curve than a major problem.

widely adopted

Pros

It's a widely used tool across the industry and the interface feels user-friendly. Pretty much anyone can get a quick overview of how it works and start using the software without much trouble.

Cons

At times though, it can be a bit confusing to track an issue especially when you're trying to figure out where the assignee's comments were left.

excellent ticketing

Pros

This tool has been an excellent ticketing system and task manager for our team. It makes it simple to keep track of everyone's bandwidth and see all open tasks clearly.

It is a really strong ticketing system and honestly I haven't run into any downsides.

Fast workflow but frustrating editor

Pros

AJAX functionality keeps tickets loading fast which makes the whole workflow feel more responsive. I also appreciate being able to add labels and other options directly inside dropdown lists without breaking my flow. The Kanban board view is useful for tracking work visually and the quick user search when assigning tickets or doing similar actions saves time.

Cons

A frustrating part is the WYSIWYG editor which almost always messes up my code samples when I paste them into the text area. Everything looks correct while editing but once the comment is submitted, it ends up broken with random sign " {{ "showing up everywhere. On top of that, whenever someone fixes a comment after an accidental formatting issue, the system sends another unnecessary email to the whole team. Adding images in comments is awkward too, images get attached to the ticket instead of the actual comment which is not very practical. Another annoyance is the Kanban ticket sidebar, when I click a ticket, it opens on the right but the panel is far too narrow even on a large screen.

task tracking and teamwork

Pros

Right away, the interface felt easy to use. I can flag how important a task is, get email alerts for items I'm watching and keep all the issues assigned to me organized in one convenient spot on the dashboard. It also makes it simple to communicate with coworkers on projects, collaborate without friction and share files back and forth.

Cons

I don't have any real complaints about it. It works the way I want it to and performs exactly how I'd expect software like this to in a business setting.

strong accountability tools

Pros

This is a really great tool for keeping developers accountable and I especially love the dashboard features.

Cons

Using it from a project manager's perspective is tougher though I understand Agile itself doesn't really cover a traditional project management function. The challenge is that companies still have shareholders and those shareholders expect budgeting so project management remains a necessary part of agile software development.

Useful features with slow to master

Pros

It works really well which is how the platform keeps our projects organized as a team. Everything stays in clear, concise threads so it's simple to see when someone has updated something and it also helps us keep track of which daily tasks need the most attention.

Cons

The part I enjoy the least is that it takes some time to really learn how to use the platform well. That can feel frustrating in the beginning but once you get comfortable with it, the extra functionality ends up being more valuable than the initial hassle.

frustrating interface

Pros

One thing it does reasonably well is connect with other platforms like Zendesk which helps when you need systems to work together. I also appreciate that you can enter a ticket name and number and immediately check its current status. At a basic level, it gets the job done for creating, tracking and updating tickets so if all you need is a SaaS tool for easy project or ticket management, it is at least usable.

Cons

Too many quality-of-life features are missing and a lot of them seem to sit ignored for years before being closed as issues that will not be fixed. Some of the most frustrating examples are not being able to open links in a new tab or window, including links to it's own site, not being able to sort tickets by name or title which is terrible when you need to work through them in a certain order and filters timing out after a while so you have to do a full refresh. There is also no simple, visible filter for watched tickets so you are left to figure that out on your own. On top of that, parts of the software feel noticeably slow. I am also not a fan of the forced UI update because it hides even more information upfront which is the opposite of what you want when reviewing ticket details. The Slack apps are another annoyance, constantly prompting you to connect your account without giving you any permanent way to block it, only a temporary snooze.

customization and integrations

Pros

Right from the start, it really got this one right. It's easily one of the strongest project management tools available, with loads of customization, the ability to adapt workflows to match your processes and plenty of integrations. On top of that, it fits into a broader ecosystem of excellent products like Confluence, BitBucket and Bamboo which makes it even more valuable.

Cons

That level of flexibility can also make the initial setup and customization a bit challenging when you're trying to tailor it to your needs. A visual tutorial would probably make onboarding much more helpful in that area.
