Right from the start, it feels very simple to use and manage because the interface is clear, attractive and easy to follow. Its reporting and analytics tools are also very comprehensive, giving helpful insights and highlighting areas where improvement is needed.

Although it includes several task view options, the customization available within each one could be expanded further to better match the different preferences of our team.

Being able to monitor how many hours went into each project was really useful, even when the work was billed at flat rates. It gave us a better way to fine-tune those rates based on the author's actual workload. That tracking also came in handy during tax time when it was time to sort out deductions. On top of that, as the EIC, I could quickly check where my editors and proofreaders were in the workflow without having to constantly chase them down by email.

Cons

At the beginning, the features we relied on were included in the free version which was a huge benefit for a start-up. Over time, though, more and more of those tools were moved behind paid tiers. Since our business was centered on flat-rate work, having access to those features had been incredibly valuable but it stopped being practical once I also had to absorb so many other payroll and payment-related costs.

I really appreciate how it gives a clear overall view of projects which makes it much easier to follow progress across every task involved. It's also a big plus that the platform can be customized to fit the specific needs and workflows of your company.

It would be even better if they introduced more project views since that would add extra flexibility to the way projects are managed.

I like the simplicity and the selection of colors. Whether I am on my PC or mobile everything is well organized which is important for me as I often jot down quick notes on my phone or tablet. Sharing tasks and files with team members is effortless allowing for seamless collaboration on projects. Overall, it significantly aids in task management and boosts my daily productivity.

One thing I am not fond of is that everyone you collaborate with must have the paid plan in order to access the paid features.

There were hardly any downsides. Initially the interface can appear a bit overwhelming but once you dive in you quickly realize its quite straightforward to use.

The colors are appealing and I find the collapse function, tags, multiple projects, agenda function, loose tasks, kanban format, attachments, links, categories, scheduling and integration into other apps to be quite likable.

Timeline: Terrible - Colors and UI theme: Outdated - Reporting is extremely limited. It should be highly customizable for reviews and team meetings. Customer facing meetings and status updates could benefit from more advanced features. The mobile view could use some improvement. How do you define success? If a user can solely rely on the mobile version without needing the desktop or web then thats a success. - Consolidated project view is missing. The agenda view is useless. - Dragging and dropping tasks between projects is not smooth. - Time reminders are not smooth or practical enough. - Automation requires many improvements. We need the ability to link a header with dates so that when a task is created in that specific Kanban, it automatically inherits the date. Mapping a Kanban to a calendar day (Sunday, Monday, etc.) would be very useful. We should discuss this further to provide more explanation.

Pros

Since our team relies on G Suite finding a substitute for Inbox was crucial. MeisterTask has been the perfect solution. It allows me to transform a Gmail email into a categorized to do task, complete with assigned categories, delegated tasks and due dates. The ability to have dedicated conversations for each to do is particularly valuable as it streamlines communication and ensures efficient task completion. My assistant and I can work together effectively, completing tasks and archiving them without any confusion or need for constant inquiries.

It would be great to have a convenient hover feature that provides easy access to descriptions of icons and tools. It would save a lot of time and remove any guesswork about their functions.

So far I have not found a single thing to dislike about MeisterTask. Its quite surprising considering I have been searching for the "perfect" project workflow system for months. MeisterTask seems to fulfill all my requirements. It has truly captured my attention and might be the solution I have been looking for all this time.

Cons

To be honest there is not much about MeisterTask that disappoints me. If I had to be picky, I would say that having the option to change the dashboard background would be nice. Overall i cannot really complain about it.
