“Cost-effective option”

Pros

this tool delivers in a lot of important areas, customization and control, time tracking with effort analysis, Scrum and Agile support and collaboration for remote teams. On top of that, the pricing is competitive so it feels like a cost-effective choice compared with other options on the market.

Cons

There's still some room to improve in a few areas, though. The interface could be optimized to avoid cache-related issues and fix broken filters. It would also help to improve the responsive UI and BI features, add integrations with open APIs and speed up customer support response times.

I find it to be an intuitive and easy-to-use tool.

Cons

Connecting to BI platforms like Qlik Sense or Power BI is a hassle due to the lack of proper documentation and support. Dealing with customer service is a nightmare; they take ages to respond, making obtaining a simple time report a tedious manual process. Our experience with them was exceptionally poor.

The software is riddled with bugs, filters frequently malfunction, sorting by date never seems to work, and accessing a list of "outstanding" tasks requires endless clicks and refreshes. The interface is overly complex, leading to frequent crashes, rendering it nearly unusable given the extent of the issues.

Orangescrum offers complete task management capabilities that allow me to create, assign, and manage tasks effectively. It's easy for me, as a manager or team leader, to share files, get real-time updates, comment, and receive notifications, ensuring an appropriate channel for communication. The tool also provides flexibility in creating custom workflows, defining project milestones, and setting permissions.

Cons

Initially, using the tool for project management can be quite cumbersome, especially for newcomers. While the ability to customize the user interface is a plus, it still requires improvement to enhance flexibility.

My organization has been using Orangescrum for more than two years now, and we find it to be one of the most comprehensive tools for project and task management. It is our go-to tool to start our stand-up calls, verify project status, add details, or do task planning. End-of-day updates are auto-captured based on team members' details updated. Planned effort versus actual effort planning, resource allocation, and overall progress capturing make it easy for me to manage various projects.

Cons

While the product boasts a well-designed interface, there is room for improvement. Implementing a skill central for team members would greatly enhance its utility.

I appreciate having a support team that always listens to my needs and actually implements them. Recently, they added an emoji feature to the comment section, which I asked for last month, and it is really helpful in communicating with overseas colleagues. They reply quickly to let me know they acknowledge my problem, even if it cannot be solved in the near future. There is also very large storage space for us to upload our files.

Cons

The file uploading system occasionally glitches, and attaching files sometimes results in lost comments. Also, the mobile app version lacks the convenience of the browser version, lacking features like selective notification recipients and kanban task viewing.

When I set out to find a task tracker, I found plenty of cloud-based services that seemed to do what I wanted, but I really needed to have more control. As a programmer and designer, I wanted something that not only worked but that I could also plug into my local systems. Orangescrum allows me to do that. The add-ons are a single cost, and the self-hosting option seems to be priced right.

Cons

Installing the community edition took longer than expected, especially on Slackware 15. The lack of clear instructions for unsupported systems made the process more challenging than necessary.

Some features have not worked as expected, like reporting, forecasting, recurring tasks, and incorrect calculations for actuals. Also, experiencing 404 messages. Resource forecasting is especially problematic. They didn't mention certain limitations when we asked early on, such as multiple holiday calendars and working schedules.

As an organization, we moved to Agile about a year ago and use OrangeScrum to track our sprints and iterations. It gives a very clear and visual progress of our sprint work. OrangeScrum provides different graphs to indicate the progress of product development and helps us create individual tasks to reach the goals set by the product team.

The tool is great, but more options and customizable configurations specific to our team would be appreciated.
