Good if you really working Agile

Pros

Simple yet invaluable, Pivotal Tracker is a must-have for proper agile implementation.

Cons

Sometimes, in between sprints, when we need to temporarily change the methodology for a short period of time, PT isn't really good for those times, in my view.

Helpful agile project management tool

Pros

Pivotal Tracker is surprisingly user-friendly. I quickly grasped its various project types and appreciated its clear progress tracking.

Cons

Aesthetically, I think Pivotal Tracker could be better. I wish we could add attachments, screenshots, etc., in the story description.

Best Application for Agile And Project Management

Pros

For managing projects, especially in agile environments, Pivotal Tracker is unbeatable. It's user-friendly and particularly beneficial for small businesses with multiple projects.

Cons

Sometimes handling more than one project is difficult on it and is very inconvenient. One more big inconvenience is that more of the managing stuff is manual, which could be automated.

PT tracks well

Pros

Using Pivotal Tracker for our project management, bug tracking, and story creation has been incredibly helpful for our team.

Cons

Integrating this software with other platforms can be a bit confusing. I feel like it needs more frequent updates to match the evolving needs of our company.

Structure project management/ticketing system

Pros

With its deep integration with GitHub, Pivotal Tracker is my go-to project management system. Its minimal learning curve and focused feature set make it a time-saving tool for teams.

Cons

It can be too limiting; sometimes the icebox gets huge, and things get lost. SCRUM masters have to do their due diligence to keep things clean, in my opinion.

I prefer Jira, but pivotal tracker is not bad either

Pros

Adding multiple team members to work on a story is effortless with Pivotal Tracker. This feature simplifies paired programming by keeping track of who is working on each task.

Cons

Getting used to this tracker took time, especially since I was already familiar with another task manager. Finding specific stories and prioritizing tasks was challenging.

Systematic way to manage projects

Pros

Pivotal serves as a versatile SAAS platform, offering features like real-time collaboration for project management, easy story acceptance or rejection, and convenient story viewing based on their status.

Cons

When I first used it, the UX seemed outdated, almost like it is from a decade ago. Getting the hang of it was tough; I had to rely on someone's assistance or watch demo videos.

Downgrade from previous system

Pros

I find the Story view in Pivotal Tracker to be well-organized, with helpful search options. Although I anticipate the color coding will become even more useful once I get the hang of it.

Cons

Since I am not an admin, I hardly get a chance to interact with Epics and Stories on this platform.

Pivotal Tracker - BPC

I appreciate Pivotal Tracker's simplicity in work assignment and description fields. As a recent college graduate, it's intuitive to understand what tasks need to be done using this tool.

Locating completed tickets or those buried in the backlog was quite challenging.

For the scrum teams around

Pros

Using Pivotal Tracker is a nicer experience due to its clear-cut functionalities. It allows for easy marking of features and releases, smooth task management for developers, and straightforward addition of blockers. The intuitive UI contributes to a more productive workflow.

Cons

While the layout of buttons and links makes sense, the UI feels outdated in terms of design.

Great for Scrum

Pros

Pivotal Tracker excels in following the Scrum approach to software development. Assuming familiarity with Scrum, creating backlogs, grooming user stories, and sprint analysis are all fantastic features.

Cons

It is heavily focused on Scrum, which did not align with our diverse agile practices. We switched to Trello because of this limitation.

Pivotal Tracker Review

Pros

Among the agile management tools I've used, Pivotal is one of the simplest. Its straightforward flow, including Icebox, current iteration, and done states, is easy to navigate. Integrations with GitHub and Slack make it ideal for small projects and startups.

Cons

After using it for four years, a few cons stand out. There is no notification when updating story descriptions; you have to tag someone to notify them. The mobile app runs sluggishly on older iOS versions and crashes at times.

Your teams needs to learn and accommodate the software

Pros

It is highly reliable, with well-thought-out features, making it suitable for small teams without prior project management knowledge.

Cons

Pivotal feels rigid, it expects teams to conform to its structure rather than adapting to their workflow.
