Flexible tool but expensive

Pros

Planisware has a ton of features that work really well across different industries and methodologies. I've used it to manage everything from the initial planning stages all the way through to tracking, controlling and closing projects. It's super flexible which makes it great for different kinds of projects. What I love most is how easy it is to integrate with other web apps because it's built on a container based architecture. It's also pretty flexible in terms of deployment, you can run it on your own servers, on your cloud or even have it hosted and managed by Planisware themselves. It's just all around really convenient and adaptable.

Cons

The price is pretty high compared to other options especially if I need to use a lot of the premium features or do a bunch of tasks each month. On top of that I've found the customer support to be lacking. Sometimes it takes forever for them to respond and even when they do, they don't always fix the issue or offer refunds when needed. It's honestly pretty frustrating for me.

Varied functions for many industries

Pros

I've found that the product offers a broad set of features that adapt to various methodologies, sectors and industries and in my work I can manage everything from demand through execution while covering planning, monitoring, control and project closure. Because of its container-based architecture I can integrate it quickly and easily with other web applications which organizes my toolchain. Also deployments can be tailored to our needs I have the option to install solutions on-premises, deploy them within our cloud or use Planisware's hosted and managed service giving me flexibility for different operational requirements.

Cons

I find the price to be considerably higher than other options which becomes especially apparent when I need to enable numerous premium features or execute a large volume of tasks each month so the total cost can escalate quickly. In addition my experience with customer support has been disappointing because they are often slow to reply sometimes fail to resolve the issues I raise and in cases where I expected a refund they have not followed through, leaving me frustrated.

Experience With Planisware Enterprise

Pros

The standout feature of Planisware Enterprise lies in its versatility and customization options. The software allows users to tailor it according to their unique requirements and workflows enhancing the effectiveness and precision of project management. Another aspect that I appreciate is its ability to handle resource management and complex project portfolios. With tools for capacity planning resource allocation and financial management Planisware Enterprise aids businesses in optimizing their project portfolios and budgets. It's important to note that the advantages users value most may vary depending on their specific needs and usage scenarios.

Cons

In my experience as a potential user I found that successfully using Planisware Enterprise can be challenging especially for those who are inexperienced with the software. It may require extensive training and expertise to fully leverage its capabilities. Additionally the pricing of Planisware Enterprise seems to be on the higher side particularly for smaller firms or organizations that may not require all of the program's complex features. While the software offers many capabilities I have also heard that tailoring it to suit specific demands can be difficult. This lack of adaptability and customization options may frustrate users seeking more flexibility.

an all-inclusive project tool

Pros

In my experience with Orchestra I consider it to be a comprehensive, all-in-one solution that enables me to capture, manage and report on projects and portfolios end-to-end and when used to its fullest it can serve as my single source of truth.

Cons

Have come across a few limits in Orchestra's ability to export or display Gantt-style reports and I find that the planning/Gantt timeline requires multiple sequential steps to create or adjust which in practice reduces my workflow efficiency.

Versatile with lots of custom views

Pros

The platform is remarkably flexible providing an extensive range of configurable options that let users sculpt the tool to fit varied project styles and organizational structures which I find invaluable when different teams require distinct setups, I can easily imagine both modest teams and sprawling enterprises deriving significant benefit from the feature set, as long as they perform a thoughtful assessment of their unique needs. There are numerous methods for depicting project status and progress, from visual boards to timeline views and the system additionally supports ways to organise the user experience for specific team roles. Perhaps the feature we like most is that it enables not only detailed project planning but also the allocation of resources at multiple increments (hours, percentage of FTE, days) and it automatically notifies those assigned so they can manage tasks and report time.

Cons

The user interface could benefit from further polish although I have noticed that the development teams have been making steady improvements since we began using the product , additionally, the platform offers only a modest set of integrations with other widely used applications which can be a constraint for organizations that rely on diverse third-party tools.

best for allocation tracking

Pros

For me it's exceptionally simple to keep track of allocations and to reassign people across different projects when needed.

Cons

However I often find the application behaves unpredictably at times when removing people from projects which consistently increases maintenance time.

Everyone sees the same information

Pros

I value that everyone in our organization can view the identical information simultaneously ensuring alignment and transparency across teams.

Cons

Personally I find that the reporting features particularly Gantt charts and related scheduling visuals, require substantial improvement to support our project planning and tracking.

A Versatile Tool with Useful Features for Project Management

Pros

I highly appreciate the various advantages offered by the software such as project control fund control and time monitoring. It provides personalized web desktops and insightful reports enabling us to effectively manage project finances and deliver services on time. The adaptive map feature allows us to monitor plans modify project activities and demonstrate program outcomes. It also facilitates financial management for managerial programs.

Cons

While my company finds it a bit pricey we believe it is worth the investment. It would be beneficial if the software could simplify certain processes to make them more userfriendly and require fewer steps. Additionally there are some terms within the software that are not compatible and need to be aligned. However considering the overall benefits we understand the effort required for such adjustments.

Planisware Review

Pros

What stands out to me about Planisware Enterprise is the ability to plan through different hypothetical scenarios. As someone with a neurodivergent thinking style this software has provided me with the unique capability to explore and analyze various scenarios in a way that other tools have not allowed.

Cons

One aspect I find disappointing is the limited availability of a free trial version. Currently Planisware Enterprise only offers a 14day trial and it would be beneficial to have a simplified free version for individuals to test and experience the software's capabilities. Despite this I still find value in using it but having a free option would enhance accessibility.

simple to use and great exports

Pros

So far I really like how interactive the software is to navigate since it allows me to move effortlessly between areas such as projects, resources, users and similar sections without confusion. Also I find the export functionality to be the feature I value most because for the work I perform those exports are indispensable--being able to quickly extract the precise information I need from the system in a ready-to-use format is extremely helpful and organizes my tasks considerably.

Cons

At present only three people within our organization are actively using the system so I cannot yet fully evaluate certain aspects until we expand deployment to a broader group, at which point I expect to provide a more definitive assessment. In the meantime I feel the platform could greatly benefit from more flexible, user-driven report and export customization options and I also think the dashboard customization needs enhancement to allow deeper, more granular configuration and richer detail.

easy to set up and customize

Pros

I found the implementation process very easy and it gives me a high degree of freedom to customize almost every aspect to suit my needs which I really like.

Cons

I am unable to set or manage time for the individual actions contained within tasks so I cannot control or track durations at that more granular level.

Manages large groups, easy to use

Pros

It is capable of handling very large organizations and a wide array of resources and it remains easy to operate without forcing me to sacrifice many advanced capabilities, it scales well both for increasing numbers of users and for expanding functionality and I like the strong local support in France which complements its suitability for both RUN and BUILD tasks while the extensive integration options from flat files to datamarts and reporting tools meet our interfacing needs.

Cons

In my experience the agile processes are not handled as cleanly as I would prefer and the Kanban workflows in particular could feel much smoother and more fluid.

reporting is inflexible for our needs

Pros

The software's smooth performance and the way it presents and visualizes data which makes navigating and interpreting information noticeably easier for my daily tasks.

Cons

I find the reporting options insufficiently flexible and the adaptive reporting capabilities do not align well with our specific business needs so customizing outputs to our workflows remains a challenge.

Pros

I find the time sheet recording really easy to use and it makes tracking my work hours quick and interactive.

Leader for PPM in Pharma

Pros

Planisware is a leading solution for portfolio and project management in the pharmaceutical industry. Its integrated timeline and resource management capabilities make it stand out. The software's configurability is another strength allowing proficient administrators to create unique capabilities without extensive customization reducing the need for custom work.

Cons

One aspect that could be improved in future releases of Planisware Enterprise is its integrations. Currently the software primarily supports basic filebased integrations for data movement which may not meet the requirements for highperformance and realtime access to data for downstream reporting. Enhancing the integration capabilities to include options like AWS S3 or Azure outofthebox would be beneficial.

collaboration is lacking

Pros

the interface interactive and the set of features exceptionally comprehensive.

Cons

I have noticed several significant drawbacks: the documentation is insufficient for me to attain Orchestra expert-level knowledge or to confidently handle everyday usage and support, the platform exhibits marked weaknesses in out-of-the-box standard reporting. Frequently I must perform an excessive number of clicks to complete even basic project operations and the collaboration features for project stakeholders are underdeveloped which often prevents successful coordination.

Planisware Community

Pros

Planisware Enterprise has provided us with a centralized source of data for our NPI New Product Introduction pipeline. The software has also enabled us to mature our processes without outgrowing the solution. It offers valuable features for managing and tracking our product development lifecycle.

Cons

One challenge we faced with Planisware Enterprise was aligning the outofthebox software with our highly customized processes. Adapting the software to our specific requirements required effort and coordination to ensure it met our business needs effectively.

I have successfully used the system to improve portfolio resource forecasting at 3 companies.

Pros

In my experience the support team's expertise and the flexibility of the tool make Planisware Enterprise the strongest project and resource management solution in the market. The combination of reliable support and the software's adaptability contributes significantly to its effectiveness.

Cons

One improvement I would like to see in Planisware Enterprise is the ability to create tabs in the views. Currently reviewing the data management rules and identifying the active rule can be cumbersome. It would be helpful to have a table format that highlights the data management rules in play for better management and visibility.

Great for custom project stages

Pros

I can tailor stages and approval gates because this flexibility lets different project types coexist within a single organization, or allows wholly distinct configurations across separate organizations and, In my experience getting the initial project tasks configured is easy enough to begin work quickly.

Cons

There consistently seem to be far too many individual steps embedded in each workflow and although I can usually figure out the required sequence without much trouble, I feel that a majority of actions could be consolidated so users would accomplish tasks with significantly fewer clicks.
