Centralized team communication

Pros

Having everything for team communication in one place has made a big difference for us. Channels do a really nice job of keeping projects organized and the search feature has been a lifesaver whenever I need to dig up an old file or link. It has pretty much taken the place of internal email for our team so day-to-day collaboration feels a lot quicker and more natural.

Cons

I miss plenty of messages because I can't seem to get the desktop notifications to reliably alert me. On top of that, if I'm away even for a day, it's very easy to come back to a pile of messages and catching up starts to feel like a chore.

makes communication convenient

Pros

Been using it for quite some time now it's been really useful. It makes communication with colleagues much simpler and sharing files is convenient too.

Cons

There's not really much to complain about. I've tried a few other tools and honestly they feel pretty similar. As long as I can chat with coworkers, this works fine for me.

Value-packed team communication tool

Pros

It feels like good value because it brings chat, file sharing and file storage together in one place with a user-friendly interface. Support is dependable and it keeps team communication quick and well organized. It really helps collaboration even if the occasional bug or notification hiccup can disrupt things a bit.

Cons

Costs can add up once the team gets bigger and the free version comes with limits on file storage and message history. There are also times when minor bugs or delayed notifications show up and having too many channels can make conversations feel cluttered.

Top workplace collaboration software

Pros

Honestly, I have zero complaints about it. To me, it's the best collaboration tool available for workplaces.

Cons

I really don't have any issues with it. My only wish is that more companies would adopt it instead of sticking with more popular messaging platforms.

Threaded messaging stands out

Pros

Threaded instant messaging is the reason I'd recommend it. It keeps business communication organized really well, no matter how many teams you have or how large they are.

Cons

It's really only convenient when you're on a premium plan especially if you need meetings with multiple participants. I tested it and the experience is completely different from what you get on the free plan.

One stop shop for messaging

Pros

It feels like a true all-in-one messaging app, with support for just about every plugin and connector to other services you might want or need. Getting started is simple and the free plan makes setup quick and accessible.

Cons

That said, the Pro and Business plans feel pretty pricey for a small team that mainly just needs chat. The big bold 50% pricing claim is also misleading since that discount only applies to the first three months.

Lets me delete and edit messages

Pros

I appreciate being able to edit or delete messages when needed. It's also really helpful that when a meeting starts, a bar shows up at the top, making it simple to jump in right away.

Cons

when you're working with a very large team, it's pretty easy for messages or shared items sent to you to get buried and be hard to find.

Broad range of integrations

Pros

Working across channels with other companies, the wide range of app integrations and the smart bot are features that really set it apart from Skype for Business, Microsoft Teams, Jabber and similar tools.

Cons

At times, I end up missing replies in threads because they're not always obvious enough. It would help a lot if those were highlighted more clearly. On top of that, integration with common calendar tools would be a really valuable addition.

100 day free version is a plus

Pros

Using the free 100-day version gave us enough time to finish a short-term project with team members working remotely from different parts of the USA which was really useful.

Cons

The way conversations are organized feels a little confusing. It's hard to tell which chats are current and which ones are still unread.

Ability to create channels

Pros

Having multiple teams communicate in one place is really convenient and the ability to create channels makes it much easier to keep conversations organized in a more strategic way.

Cons

Searching for past messages was frustrating. It was pretty difficult to go back and locate exactly what I needed the way you can with email.

file sharing is simple

Pros

Keeping team communication quick and organized is where this really shines especially with channels that make conversations much easier to follow. File sharing is simple as well which makes working with the team even more convenient.

Cons

Honestly, I didn't run into anything I disliked while using it. Everything worked perfectly for me so I really don't have any cons to mention.

Enjoyable experience

Pros

It is a genuinely enjoyable experience thanks to how user-friendly it feels. It combines powerful features with a polished, professional look and just enough playful design to make the whole experience pleasant to use regularly.

Cons

The channel list in the sidebar can feel crowded which makes it harder to quickly scan and find what I need. Another downside is the file compression especially when working with lots of images since shared files can lose noticeable quality.

Beginner-friendly

Pros

Getting started with it is very simple especially for beginners moving over from another tool. The open channels are a big plus since people can join freely without needing an invite which really helps team connectivity. The chat interface feels clean and enjoyable to use and the emoji and GIF support makes conversations more engaging. Integrations and webhook functionality are also included which adds a lot of value.

Cons

There is still a bit of a learning curve for new users, particularly when it comes to the more advanced functionality. Notifications can also become noisy if they are not set up properly.

Keeps communication organized

Pros

It keeps team communication quick and well organized through channels, direct messages and integrations with other tools.

Cons

The notifications can get overwhelming at times and some really useful features are still restricted in the free version. I'd love to see those features improved or expanded.

Does what it is supposed to do

Pros

Everything it promises is there and the interface keeps things clean and simple. It may look simple at first but it really does a solid job of helping manage projects.

Cons

I honestly don't have any specific complaints about it. I'm happy with what it offers and I haven't run into a point where I felt it was missing anything I needed.

Easy to keep in touch with team

Pros

Keeping in touch with the team in real time is much simpler with it. The channel setup does a nice job of keeping conversations organized and it also integrates really well with the other tools we rely on.

Cons

Things can start to feel noisy when there are too many messages and channels active at once. Notifications can also become overwhelming if they're not set up and managed carefully.

Affordable tool for small business owners

Pros

It has been an excellent option for staying in touch and chatting across the organization. The platform is simple to use, the startup cost is affordable and the customer support is top-notch which makes it a very appealing choice for small business owners.

Cons

it seems to be missing some of the file sharing and storage features you get with other collaboration and chat tools like Discord. The mobile app also runs into occasional bugs and issues.

useful search function

Pros

Using it, I could keep client conversations, planning discussions and technical topics in separate spaces instead of mixing everything together. The search feature also helped me track down past decisions, shared files and important updates much faster.

Cons

Once multiple channels were active and filling up with messages, I ended up missing some quieter updates. Sometimes important information moved through the channels too fast even with the message search tools available.

Pros

It has been a powerful tool for staying in contact with a large team. I really appreciate how simple it is to move around the app on both my phone and my computer.

Boosts engagement across teams

Pros

Slack has been a really effective way to keep group conversations going and boost engagement across teams. It also works really well for friendly competitions, plus sharing news and important updates with everyone on the team.

Cons

I don't like that anyone can post messages without management specifically filtering or censoring them and I think that should be in place.
