fantastic for project visibility

Pros

The software works really well for laying out the overall direction and structure of my projects. I share the boards with clients so they can follow along with progress on the work we're doing together. They're also able to add files and important details themselves which makes the board a really useful central spot for keeping track of everything related to a project.

Cons

At times getting clients comfortable with the kanban style setup can be a bit tricky if they haven't used that kind of system before. Another limitation is that while subtasks can be created, they aren't visible directly on the cards. Because of that, I don't rely on the software for managing the finer details of a project. It works better as a tool for the bigger picture view.

It's really useful for organizing work teams, their assigned tasks and the status and progress of each one throughout the process.

project management from anywhere

Pros

The software has been my go to tool for project management. It also comes with a mobile app so I can access it from pretty much anywhere which makes it really convenient to use.

Cons

The interface can feel a bit confusing at times but it becomes easier to understand as you keep using it.

accessible platform

Pros

Right away the best part of the software for me was how simple it is to use. Even the most hesitant people on my team picked it up almost immediately. It also made it much easier to keep an eye on tasks, deadlines and the overall progress of the team.

Cons

A few more features being included in the free version would make the platform more accessible to a wider range of users.

powerful content calendar and setup

Pros

Getting started with the software doesn't take much effort. The interface feels polished, the workflow makes sense and the steps are simple to follow so both new users and experienced professionals can settle in pretty quickly. The free version is a solid option even with its limits and being web-based is convenient since there's nothing to install from a DVD. It's also available free in the Microsoft Store. The content calendar is one of its stronger points and does a good job helping with tracking. Like most software, the free tier gets the least support while the paid version offers the better experience.

Cons

One thing that feels missing is deeper daily integration of the calendar tools especially since the calendar isn't included as a basic built in feature and instead comes as an add on. Even though plenty of users rely on other calendar systems like Outlook, its own calendar feature really should be more directly integrated. There are also plenty of competing tools out there that are just as user friendly and many of them use the same approach with a free basic plan that creates just enough friction to push people toward subscribing.

task sharing tool for small teams

Pros

Even with just a short tutorial, this program is very simple to use and people with limited computer skills can start working with it without much trouble. For small businesses, it's a really valuable tool for scheduling tasks and sharing information in real time which helps organize workflows and improve organizational processes.

Cons

The only downside I can point to is that the menu design feels a bit basic although it doesn't really take away from everything else it offers.

perfect for simple teamwork

Pros

Works really well as a collaboration tool. I use it often and recommend it anytime someone needs a easy way to follow tasks and activities in a project that isn't too complicated.

Cons

It can feel limiting if you expect it to handle the needs of a more advanced project management setup. As long as you go into it knowing the software is built more for simple projects and team collaboration, it ends up being the right fit.

Allows customization

Pros

Easy to get started with and the boards are simple to manage, update and keep track of. It also comes with plenty of features and customization options which made it work well for different needs.

Cons

I can't think of anything I disliked about the software while I was using it. It handled everything I needed it to do and did so without causing many issues.

Great kanban workflow

Pros

Has the best kanban board interface I've used and it also comes with plenty of support for third-party plugins.

Cons

It does feel a little pricey which is why I never ended up trying the paid version.

boards for everything!

Pros

Compared with most project management tools, this one is much simpler to manage. I use it for work, school and even personal organization and the free version already covers a lot of needs. The paid version becomes more valuable in a professional setting. It also works well for teams because people can start using it quickly without any training.

Cons

While it is intentionally simple, at times that simplicity can cause it to fall short when you need something more scalable. In those cases, it sometimes has to be paired with other project management tools.

visual task boards done right!

Pros

From the start this email feels very user friendly. It doesn't take long to get comfortable with the dashboard and everything is laid out in a way that makes sense quickly. If you're someone who organizes work visually, with colors, lines and clear patterns, it fits really well. The option to create color coded labels based on task priority makes the board simple to scan, easy to navigate and quick to share with others. On the collaboration side, assigning tasks is very accessible and engaging. You can drag and drop team members onto a task or if you want a more formal approach, invite them by email to join it. Both the mobile and desktop versions are stable, responsive and fluid. My team and I haven't run into any serious bugs at all.

Cons

Something I liked the least is that Lite accounts don't let you upload a custom background image. That said nobody really chooses the software just for a personalized background so it's a pretty minor limitation. Overall there aren't any critical downsides for me.

perfect for client collaboration

Pros

Being able to share boards with clients is a huge plus and the tagging feature works really well. It also helps a lot with keeping track of time-sensitive tasks and actions.

Cons

Honestly there's nothing about this tool that I dislike. I absolutely love using it and recommend it to all of my clients for communication and project management.

clean set up

Pros

The kanban setup feels really clean and accessible. Creating boards and lists is easy and being able to control access with permissions is a big plus. It's very user friendly and also has a bit of personality which makes it nicer to use day to day.

Cons

It doesn't seem like the strongest option for very long-term project management. It works really well for bug tracking and shorter-term development but I wouldn't rely on it for projects that go much beyond a year.

simple workflow

Pros

What I really appreciate about this tool is how easy the workflow is: I can email a project into the software, assign the task and then just wait for it to be completed. We also connected Harvest for time tracking and that has been incredibly useful since my assistant can log time to each project without ever leaving the software. I definitely recommend using that integration. On top of that, being able to change themes and customize the overall look may not be essential but it's something I genuinely enjoy. Having the workspace match your aesthetic makes it feel more personal and enjoyable to use.

Cons

Downloading files could be handled much better. Right now, I have to open an attachment, click "view in new tab," and only then does it download. It would make much more sense to have a direct download button next to the file. Message threads can also get confusing fast because the layout feels bulky and not very accessible. Sending comments to the board by email is also not very practical unless I manually delete everything in the message that doesn't apply. Otherwise, signatures and forwarded text get included too which just creates a lot of unnecessary clutter.

reliable task management companion

Pros

The software has been a really solid tool for managing projects and assigning tasks. I've been using it for years and up to this point I haven't run into any real problems. I'd definitely recommend it to others as well.

Cons

Up to now, I haven't come across anything seriously negative about it. The only thing I'd want improved is the UI since a better design would make it even nicer but overall it's still a decent app that provides all the features users typically need.

Smooth integrations

Pros

One of my favorite things about is how customizable it is and the way it connects with other tools like Slack, Outlook and more makes it even better. That level of compatibility is a big reason I keep coming back to it.

Cons

I really enjoy using this product but if I could change one thing, I'd add more layout style options within each board. I'd also love to see the free version include a bit more so my team members who aren't on payroll can still stay involved in everything we're working on.

budget friendly team tracking

Pros

Has been an excellent low cost project management option for my needs. Changes update in real time and it's very easy to assign teammates and deadlines using the Kanban cards and the Planyway calendar. The built-in reminders work reliably and it makes it simple to show project progress when you're working on smaller, less complicated projects.

Cons

Issue is that the software offers a lot of plugins to unlock extra features and apps like calendars and other tools. That flexibility is helpful but it can also pull you away from the platform's core board since you usually have to leave the main experience to use those add-ons. It would be much better if more of those extension features were built directly into the platform. Another thing to keep in mind isn't exactly a complaint but more of a warning once your projects start getting more complex. Unless you move up to a more advanced business plan, tracking milestones on each card becomes difficult. For example if a project has 3 parts and each part involves 2 people completing 3 tasks, it's hard on the free plan to track exactly who owns each step and which due date applies to it without making a separate card for every task. At that point, you could end up monitoring progress across 18 different cards just to stay organized. Checklists help somewhat but you still can't assign due dates to each individual milestone or task unless you upgrade. I understand they need paid tiers and I don't fault them for that but it's worth knowing that as your projects become more detailed, your costs may increase too. Even with that, the software is still one of the most affordable, fairly full featured project management tools you can start using right away.

fantastic visibility for QA workflows

Pros

Out of all the tools I've used for workflow, ticket and development management, this has probably been one of my favorites. In my role as a Lead QA Analyst, our company was handling a lot of new development work so keeping track of changes and testing them properly was critical for each software release. When something failed testing, it became visible to the engineering team right away. When something passed, that was just as clear. It also gave administration and company owners a real-time view of where my team, along with other teams, stood in the testing and development process for our product.

Cons

My only real complaint was that it didn't have a way to connect with our ticket management software. That said, this was somewhat expected because the system we used wasn't a standard engineering ticketing platform. We eventually switched over to GitHub and the transition ended up going well.

free, flexible and super useful!

Pros

Every day, I use this to keep a shared shopping list with my family and the real time updates are a huge help whenever someone adds or removes an item. It makes it simple for everyone to see what's still needed and what's already been picked up. And on top of that, it's free. I haven't had any reason to use the paid features because the free version has covered everything I need. On the business side, it has been incredibly useful for organizing notes and projects. I also really appreciate that I can access it both on my phone and on desktop. The layout is very horizontal in the way it works, with projects and ideas moving across from one stage to another. It's excellent for basic project management and works really well for small teams handling different tasks and projects. Overall, it's an outstanding tool and definitely worth trying.

Cons

Some of the more advanced features are not always the most accessible although with a bit of experimenting, you can usually work out how they function. It does a good job for personal organization or for managing smaller, more easy projects with a small team. Once things become more complex though, it starts to feel limited. For project management at that level, I would probably look at something like Asana instead.
