clean workflow

Pros

Across a lot of smaller projects with teams of up to 20 people, the app has been much more convenient than JIRA which feels too bulky or GitHub Issues which comes across as too limited. The interface is simple and polished and the flexibility is a huge plus, you can shape the platform to handle anything from tracking groceries at home to managing a moderately complex release process.

Cons

The business plan is fairly expensive and it would be nice to have a middle-tier option with a limited number of users and more than one but fewer than several power-ups.

Digital diary

Pros

This software feels like a digital diary with reminders, not just for yourself but also for the people you want to keep informed. It's free and the board, list and card setup helps you organize things from broad ideas down to specific details. You can create both public and private boards and there's plenty of room to customize them. It lets you write notes, use colors and icons, attach images, print content and even change the language. It also includes checklists and keeps a full history of everything you do. On top of that, it's simple to work with and you can use it wherever you are.

Cons

The mobile app isn't as functional as the computer version although even with that difference I really don't have any major complaints about the software. As for customer support, I can't really comment because I haven't needed to use it yet.

flexible boards, frustrating search

Pros

Our team relied on this software to manage product development and we got a lot of value from the free version. I really appreciated how flexible it was in the way cards could move and interact across boards and between users. The range of plugins was another welcome bonus for us especially since we work across several other platforms and wanted those connections reflected through tools like Google Drive, Slack and Zoom.

Cons

Trying to search in the app feels like a skill you have to master. The consistency is pretty lacking and the search interface itself could use a major overhaul. Once you're dealing with several boards and different permission settings, finding an active card turns into a real hassle. If that card has been archived, the odds of it showing up in search results again are extremely low.

boost teamwork

Pros

This tool lets me set up boards with all the information for each project in one place. Using agile methodologies in this tool has been fantastic. I especially value being able to share assigned tasks with my team, track the results we achieve and move cards as the project progresses. The interface is also very user friendly and accessible.

Cons

As strong as this tool is overall, it still lacks some functionality for assigning tasks in a more detailed, step-by-step way so project control ends up being less specific.

color-coded boards

Pros

Keeping up with workloads feels much more manageable with the software. It lets you create multiple cards, assign team members and add due dates which helps keep tasks organized. The color-coded labels are especially useful for prioritizing what needs attention first. You can set up personal boards for your own tasks but shared boards are also available making it possible for several people to view updates and collaborate in one place. The custom Power-Ups are another strong feature since they connect this software with third-party tools and can really improve productivity. On top of that, there are personalization options for changing how boards look which does not necessarily make you more productive but is still a nice touch.

Cons

This tool does work for project management but the cards themselves are fairly basic. And even though the interface is easy, it can still take a bit of time for some users to uncover all the different features especially things like Power-Ups.

makes a big difference

Pros

This platform really works well for visual learners like me. Being able to see everything I need to do organized into different list categories makes a big difference and it's especially helpful to watch tasks move from one list to another across the board. I also appreciate that each task can include its own to-do list which makes the whole experience feel even more visual and user friendly.

Cons

My only real issue with the platform is that boards can start to feel a bit chaotic when there are too many tasks piled onto them. I also wish there were more flexible ways to organize information within each task since that would reduce how many separate tasks you need to create in a list.

fantastic checklists

Pros

Compared with sticky notes, this feels far less cluttered and a lot more reliable. I can get to my boards from anywhere instead of only where I left a note behind. The color-coding options work really well for organizing everything into categories. Even the free version is excellent and comes with plenty of features which is what I use. Checklists are especially helpful and being able to duplicate cards along with their checklists for repeat tasks saves a ton of time. Adding comments to cards is also useful for keeping notes in one place without needing to make a separate card. Shared boards are a nice bonus too, like putting together a recipes board with friends.

Cons

I want the option to color the full card or even an entire list. It would also be helpful to have push-style reminders when a card is getting close to its due date such as an email or text notification. Some of that may already exist in the paid version though.

versatile boards across devices

Pros

Using this software across all my devices has been really convenient and the interface is very easy to work with. I enjoy having shared boards with both my family and my co-workers and the power-ups add a lot of value. It also connects really well with Zapier which makes automating tasks, lists and meetings very simple. There are plenty of customization options too which is perfect if you want to give your boards a bit of personality. It works really well for managing projects, keeping all kinds of lists and a lot more. The activity history is especially useful when working with a group, whether that's family or a business team because you can clearly see who created or moved a list or card. As a result, things are much less likely to get lost compared with paper lists. I use it for shopping lists, to-do lists, personal and team projects and even team communication.

Cons

Biggest drawbacks for me are that it doesn't work offline, at least on my laptop and I wish I could organize my boards in a way other than having them always alphabetized in the web version. I can get around the board-order issue by putting numbers at the beginning of the board names but it would be better if that were built in.

Good for tracking updates

Pros

The platform is part of our daily workflow for keeping up with product updates, bug fixes and feature requests. It also connects really well with several other platforms which makes creating and updating cards quick and easy.

Cons

The text formatting on cards can be a bit confusing at first but they provide a helpful guide that makes it easier to format things the way you want.

easy setup

Pros

Once I went through the intro tutorial videos, getting started with the software felt very easy. It also offers a strong range of add-ins which makes it simple to connect with plenty of other software you may already be using.

Cons

Before switching to this software, I had been managing projects with mind mapping software. The reason I gave the app a try was because my previous tool was missing features for cloud-based map support and its mobile app was seriously limited. Even with that, I just never got comfortable managing projects through cards instead of maps. Our usual projects involve well over 200 separate parts that need tracking from concept through final build and using cards turned into too much of a chore to keep up with something that has so many moving pieces.

Free software

Pros

Right from the start, the fact that it's free is a huge plus. There are Business Class and Enterprise plans but the free version is already fully functional for what we need. We mainly use it as a Kanban board to manage and monitor projects around the office and it does a really good job of helping us stay on top of our To-do, Doing and Done tasks, along with lists like "Someday" and "Inbox." The notifications are also very helpful especially when we don't have time to constantly check the boards since the email alerts keep us updated. On top of that, the native app on Mac has been flawless for me and it works well alongside the Android app when I need to stay connected on mobile.

Cons

It fell short for us in issue tracking. We gave it a try but didn't stick with it because the data wasn't very useful for analytics. For example, we couldn't export things into a spreadsheet to better understand the numbers and reporting. It also doesn't include Gantt charts or built-in time-tracking tools which some competing products do offer.

Rich integrations

Pros

This platform brings together the best parts of scrum planning in one place. It feels accessible, easy and makes it much easier to keep every task under control. The wide range of integrations is a huge plus and there are so many useful features available for free that it's hard not to love using it.

Cons

Overall, I think it's excellent but I do wish there were a simpler way to format lists while creating a card. Another frustrating part is that if you click away while editing without hitting the save button, your changes don't get applied which can be pretty annoying.

clean design

Pros

The flat design looks really nice both on the website and in the app and the app is genuinely enjoyable to use. The interface is very easy, with a single column setup for each task so everything stays clear at a glance. It's also simple to create different boards and invite an entire team in just a couple of clicks. On top of that, features like the calendar and deadline tools are very helpful and end up being useful in a lot of situations.

Cons

You can't add content such as photos, videos or files like .doc, .pdf and .psd. Because of that, it may not actually save much time if you need a lot of materials to be directly accessible in one place. It would also be better to have notifications when someone changes or updates something or at least the option to turn those notifications on. Another downside is that the boards can't really be organized as freely as you might want since you're stuck keeping them arranged in lines.

simple sharing

Pros

Getting started with the platform feels very natural. The interface is so easy that it doesn't need popups or hover tips to explain where things are which really says a lot about how well the product is designed. People usually understand the basic workflow right away and in my experience almost nobody gets confused using it. Another thing I really appreciate is being able to join other this tool workspaces without having to create separate accounts which makes collaboration and sharing much more convenient.

Cons

The app still feels very much like just the software. It hasn't really pushed itself much further and while that was probably a deliberate choice to keep the product minimal, it also makes it feel like it could have evolved a lot more by now. It changed the project management space in a big way but since then it seems like it has fallen behind.

I rely on it!

Pros

Stands out in my workflow because it connects with so many tools I already use which makes it more useful than other task management platforms I've tried. I also use a third-party Gantt chart add-on every day and it works really well as a browser extension alongside this software.

Cons

I wish it had integrations with Xero or FreshBooks since it would be really helpful to attach estimates or pricing to cards and then sync that information back to either platform once the work is finished. A built-in time tracking action would be useful for that setup too.

user friendly

Pros

Is a very user friendly project management tool that helps both individuals and teams stay on top of progress and work together on projects. Being able to create teams and tag people on cards is one of my favorite features since it makes it simple to assign tasks or ask questions right where the work is happening. I rely on the app's list feature every single day to organize my daily, weekly, monthly and other ongoing tasks and honestly I'd be lost without it.

Cons

Figuring out the best way to use the platform for your specific needs can feel a little confusing in the beginning but this tool offers plenty of helpful resources to show you how to get the most out of the platform.

boards for everything

Pros

Has become a big part of how we work together and honestly there's a lot to love about it. From the friendly branding and team behind it to the product itself, it has really changed the way our team collaborates. We rely on it for a wide range of work-related tasks and I've even started using it in my personal life too. It doesn't take much to get going and it's flexible enough that you end up wanting to use it for almost anything. I especially enjoy being able to add images and GIFs to cards since I'm a very visual person. As a development tool, it works well as a dependable kanban board with fairly standard features but the real advantage is that the software can handle just about everything for us. We use it for onboarding new employees, monitoring project progress and even organizing healthy meal and food ideas.

Cons

The one area where I've consistently had trouble is with setting up teams and inviting users. It feels like something always goes wrong whenever I or someone else on our team tries to handle that part.

best tool

Pros

Three years in, this software is still the organization tool I keep coming back to and I honestly wouldn't switch to anything else. It works in so many different situations, whether it's team collaboration, brainstorming ideas or even tracking bugs. The number of ways this tool can be used feels almost endless.

Cons

The way the more advanced features are introduced could be better. There seem to be extra capabilities available but I don't really use them because they aren't presented in a way that helps me discover or understand their value. I'm pretty sure I'd end up loving a lot of those advanced options if the app made them easier to surface and showed why they matter.

flexible to use

Pros

The app is incredibly flexible which lets me set up cards and swim lanes however I need. I can organize a lane by person, priority, task and just about anything else that makes sense for the work. There really doesn't seem to be a limit to how much I can customize it to match the way I prefer to work.

Cons

I don't like that this tool's add-ons can get expensive if you need more than one power-up on a board. That said, they do add real value and I understand they have to support ongoing development somehow. :-)

We stay organized

Pros

One of the best parts about the software is that it's free while still offering a highly customizable setup. It works well for all kinds of needs, whether that's project management, task tracking or other workflows. The interface is excellent and our team relies on it to stay organized, monitor different tasks and projects and communicate about longer-term items.

Cons

At the moment, there really isn't anything I'd want this software to change. The free version already covers pretty much everything we need and it's reassuring to know there's a paid upgrade available if we ever want additional power-ups or add-ons. As our use of the app continues to grow, we may very well end up needing those extras in the near future. I've personally used the platform for years and only introduced it at work a few months ago.
