“Flexible and helpful
Pros
I discovered that the product can be used in many different ways. Although I managed freelancers in a fairly simple manner, I quickly recognized the tool's power and potential to handle whatever you decide to manage across a variety of setups. There's a great deal of flexibility in how you configure it to suit your needs.
Cons
For us the sticking point was that we had to rely on freelancers agreeing to join, staying up to date and maintaining high levels of engagement in order to get full use out of the system.

“best onboarding experience
Pros
For our crew we find the program incredibly simple to operate so our operatives quickly grasp how it works and breeze through their onboarding without any hassle or confusion.
Cons
While we appreciate how customizable the platform is, I noticed there are several options that our company never used and I would have preferred those unnecessary features to be removed.

At last I've discovered a fast, simple way to keep track of, search through and review every one of my vendors with minimal fuss.
Cons
I do notice that a few features here and there don't line up perfectly with my exact needs.

“simple supplier database
Pros
I've found the software extremely simple and needed almost no training to get started. Its interface is clean and designed to return search results quickly and the onboarding templates are highly customizable so I can tailor them for different suppliers and freelance contractors.
Cons
We recognize that, like any platform, there are aspects that require tweaks to align with our workflows, Shortlist has been very proactive and has invested real effort into making developmental changes for us and they keep iterating to address our ongoing needs.

“The FMS I wanted
Pros
Having HelloSign integrated removes so much of the onboarding headache for me and the customizable onboarding itself is, in my experience, unmatched. Setting up and scheduling payments has been simple which our freelancers appreciate. The setup feels simple, you can tell they built it with the user in mind. I'm also impressed by how responsive the team is.
Cons
Only one real issue: because I handle a lot of bulk tasks, the workflow can become pretty tedious at times. For instance, when I have around 25 identical assignments active, changing the rate requires me to open each one separately, there's no way to open them in new tabs, edit the amount and then return to the Projects list which loses my sort order. As a result, I end up hunting for the next item and repeating the whole sequence which wastes a lot of time and makes bulk edits frustratingly slow.

“Fills an important gap
Pros
From my perspective Shortlist's emphasis on 1099 contractors is a refreshing addition to the landscape of management platforms, I like the idea and find the underlying concept quite strong although the actual implementation still requires considerable refinement.
Cons
I ran into problems because Shortlist depends on a third-party payment processor called Qwil which makes handling invoices and payments more cumbersome than expected, in my experience the invoicing features are fairly limited, the website isn't optimized for mobile use and there isn't a mobile app available.

“Future-proof and polished
Pros
For me the project setup is really easy. I can prepare a project to share with vendors in no time. There's also an option to set deadlines for proposal submissions and final deliveries. Plus, I find the built-in templates helpful because they make it simple to pick the right project type for what I'm doing.
Cons
Can't come up with any drawbacks.

“love it, support could be better
Pros
I've used plenty of comparable programs yet I'm impressed by how Shortlist handles things, in my experience they really stand out as industry leaders.
Cons
While I'm not a fan of their support which in my view seems to be a common shortcoming among many SaaS providers, everything else works well and I find their help desk to be quite useful.
