“Great for a self-managed HOA/POA
Pros
The software is user-friendly once you start working with it. The ability for our community owners to make requests to our committees and the Board is invaluable. The integration of accounting with our bank simplifies end-of-month reconciliations, and the "reports" section provides transparency on where the community's funds are being allocated. As a small POA, we used to spend $10,000 annually on external management. Now, the significant savings allow us to allocate our modest dues to the unique amenities that define our community.
Cons
Changing Board members every two years poses some difficulties in the accounting department. When I first started, I made some mistakes in the transactions section due to the learning curve. The previous Treasurer had only six months to work with the PayHOA staff to import everything from external accounts and ensure a smooth setup before I took over.

“Trusty way to automate billing
Pros
This product eliminates the need for manual email reminders, late payment fees, and restricts payment options.
Cons
The costs have increased more than I would prefer. Now, we have to pay (or make homeowners pay) for direct debit, which seems unreasonable.

Pros
Having accounting and records management in one place is fantastic. I particularly appreciate the option to use PayHOA services for mailing annual invoices, saving me countless hours.
Cons
One feature I would like to see added is the ability to query the data, similar to an SQL database.

Pros
I can track payments daily and generate monthly reports for our HOA board. It also allows me to create and monitor our yearly budget.
Cons
Maintaining alignment with our bank has been problematic at times. I wish we could track savings accounts as well.

I was in search of software that encompassed work orders, accounting, communication, and maintenance tracking. PayHOA fulfilled all these requirements. The setup process was easy, although having more customization options would be beneficial. Nonetheless, it more than meets our needs. Homeowners can conveniently pay their fees online, which are then directly deposited into the bank.
Cons
It could benefit from more customization options, as well as an internal area where admins can store owner documents and information.

This application impresses me in two significant ways. Firstly, it offers an extensive range of capabilities that make our Accounting and Neighborhood Management system a quick and effortless process, saving us time, money, and effort. Secondly, the setup process was incredibly intuitive, and whenever we had questions and needed assistance, reaching out to the customer support team was a breeze. The team members were knowledgeable, familiar with the program, and eager to help!
Cons
So far, I haven't found anything to dislike about PayHOA! We're still exploring all the features it offers, but it has been wonderful thus far.

“Pay HOA has the perfect mix of tools for any HOA
Pros
Our goal was to find a system that could efficiently track HOA member dues and automate the billing process, including late fee assessments and notifications. PayHOA simplifies this entire process, resulting in fewer billing issues and minimal time spent compared to manual checks or deposits into our HOA checking account.
Cons
The majority of the concerns revolve around communicating with tenants of our owned properties. It's not very clear how to create a subgroup for owners/renters to notify them about local events like street cleanings.

The simplicity of tracking expenses and income, generating financial statements for member meetings and year-end accounting, group emailing to members, and storing files for member and board use in one place is a tremendous benefit.
Cons
It would be great to have improved tracking for capital expense projects, especially when it comes to monitoring loan repayments.

As a small HOA that transitioned to self-management, we chose PayHOA after extensive research, and it has proven to be a wise decision. Although the initial data entry was challenging for me due to my limited accounting background, the customer support team was phenomenal. They patiently answered my questions and helped rectify any mistakes. Their cheerful, helpful, and caring assistance was invaluable throughout the process. I especially recommend PayHOA for volunteer groups like ours with minimal accounting experience.
Cons
There were no clear instructions on the order in which data should be entered, which resulted in some duplicated work. However, for someone with an accounting background, this might not be an issue.
