Software issues after Upgrade "Low Priority"
Pros

I find it easy to use when entering orders and updating product screens.

Cons

As a customer for 9 years, the latest software issue is causing significant problems for our restaurant. The custom order request line items appear on every line item from the previous ticket. Despite waiting for 3 weeks, Customer Service informed us that it was a "Low Priority" for them and provided no timeline for a fix. This slowdowns the order process and creates numerous issues for the kitchen, customers and servers. Additionally, we were forced to switch and use their in-house credit card processing and gift card services in 2022.

Non-Existent Customer Service
Pros

talech is easy to use and I can use my iPhone or iPad as entry devices.

Cons

The reporting is mediocre, and it's impossible to customize any reports. Balancing at the end of the day is nearly impossible. Tech support and customer support seem to be on different planets, and the customer service team has no understanding of how the product works or how to treat customers. It's a very poor experience overall!

POS that works but could be better
Pros

My customers are happier. The receipts work well with the rebate program from my supplier. We can review their previous purchases to see if they already bought what they need. This is also useful for their early buy sale purchases. Emailing receipts is a nice feature. I can quickly review sales and inventory to determine what needs to be ordered.

Cons

When it was shipped to me, it wasn't linked to my account, so nothing worked for approximately 2 weeks. I spent hours on the phone with the onboarding specialist assigned to me. They claim to offer 24-hour support, but it doesn't apply to start-up or onboarding. They only work from Monday to Friday, 9 to 5. It's advisable to stick with the assigned onboarding specialist as they are most familiar with your situation. However, mine was in the Central Time zone, so nothing was addressed until 10:30 AM EST, which was 1.5 hours after opening. I faced significant difficulties with inventory load, but the onboarding specialist was very helpful. It's frustrating that the sales reports don't accurately capture debit cards, as I had hoped it would save time and make tracking easier. The scanner never functioned and had to be returned because they finally acknowledged that it was a programming issue that wouldn't be resolved anytime soon. Sometimes inventory doesn't track properly, and the availability of help callbacks is not consistent, despite the promise of 24/7 support.

Talech is better than a lot of others out there!
Pros

I love how easy it is to set up the POS system for my business. I can separate categories, control inventory and do so much more. It's super easy to use and set up. Even new hires understand it quickly when it's explained to them.

Cons

In my opinion, Talech is overall wonderful. The availability of 24-hour support is amazing; however, there are times when the wait to speak with someone on the phone is a bit long.

Cannot depend on Taltec
Pros

It's a small system that usually works. However, sometimes it doesn't function properly in metal buildings so I have to go to an outside door.

Cons

During the week, I could call Regions Bank (where I purchased the unit) and get my questions answered. However, it was a bit different on weekends when I was selling products at a sales event. The battery died, and there was no way to replace it in the unit. I had to send the unit back to Talech. This situation left me unable to make sales and I had to ask for cash after only 6 sales. I wonder how much money I lost, and it's annoying.

Beware! Do not waste your money purchasing this device!
Pros

There is nothing. The only positive aspect is that you are assigned a live, local representative who can assist you.

Cons

The system is difficult to use and entering client information is time-consuming and complex. There is a lack of a signature feature, and the fee payback process at the beginning of the next month makes balancing, recording, and tracking money very challenging. Additionally, the POS apparatus rarely worked.

Talech, simply HORRIBLE software if you have a lot of products!
Pros

talech has a nice register app and is relatively easy to use and learn the register.

Cons

Talech.com (where I, as the owner, do 98% of my work) is highly unstable. It times out and logs you out approximately every 15 minutes. Stock takes don't save after a timeout, resulting in the loss of everything. Have you ever tried counting thousands of products only to have them repeatedly deleted? It's incredibly frustrating.

Talech POS System for a Retail Store
Pros

In my experience, Talech is highly adaptable to a retail store, covering sales transactions, inventory tracking and management, and accounting reports. Speaking with a Customer Service Agent is quick and easy if needed, and the team is proactive in providing assistance.

Cons

Within inventory management, there are certain features that could greatly improve inventory tracking and management. For instance, during an end-of-year inventory count, it would be extremely helpful to have the option to freeze inventory numbers and then unfreeze them to update quantities. Currently, updating inventory numbers requires a stock take, which can be quite time-consuming for businesses with over 2,000 products. Another important feature would be the ability to customize employee access to specific information in the software, such as inventory updates and sales reports. While it is possible to restrict access to these areas, it also restricts employees from accessing key features necessary for their other tasks.

Quality Software for Small-Scale Inventory Mgmt./POS
Pros

Talech is capable of excellently handle small-scale inventory management and POS needs. also it's user-friendly and easy to train new staff members to operate proficiently. The software interface is minimal and easy to navigate.

Cons

Customizing inventory reports can be challenging, but it can be done by contacting Talech directly via phone or email. However, it would be beneficial for Talech to enhance their report system with more features and the option for users to customize reports.

Talech Stealing Money Because they Were not Processing Credit Cards Properly
Pros

The POS software generally works well, and the reporting is satisfactory. I haven't used others besides Square, but it seems to get the job done. However, its main purpose, collecting money in exchange for products is where it falls short.

Cons

The customer service is unsatisfactory when it comes to resolving major issues related to mishandling credit card information. They refuse to acknowledge problems and even place blame on others for our financial losses.

GOOD SOFTWARE - unfortunately too many glitches which can be resolved..
Pros

talech software is reasonably priced and offers all the necessary features for restaurant users.

Cons

The online ordering feature does not print and cannot be used the way we want. Additionally, there have been multiple unresolved complaints regarding the loyalty program, with no solution provided. The time sheet and employee management features pose significant liability issues without any resolutions. Furthermore, the reports generated are incorrect, showing discrepancies between the downloaded and viewed versions.

Worst customer support
Pros

talech is relatively simple to use, and it serves us well in our fast-service environment.

Cons

The support I received was absolutely terrible. Despite their claim of offering 24/7 support, every time I called, I was informed that it would take 48 hours to resolve the issue. Anything that occurred after hours was basically ignored. Even a simple task like opening a seasonal store resulted in hours of being passed around without a solution. When I requested support for menu cloning between locations, it ended up completely messing up the menu. To make matters worse, I was informed that nobody could fix it until Monday, leaving me completely offline for the entire weekend. This kind of delay is unacceptable when it comes to a POS system. It should work immediately, not after waiting for 48 hours.

Do not recommend
Pros

We required a secure method to process credit cards via mobile for an outdoor event. Talech provided a solution that allowed multiple users to sign in with their own accounts while being linked to the main admin account.

Cons

The usability of the system was not great. We encountered difficulties with our logins (although customer service was fantastic in helping us resolve this). While the mobile card reader worked reasonably well, there were delays in connecting when switching between different users' phones.

WORST PIECE OF TECH AND CUSTOMER SERVICE IVE EVER ENCOUNTERED
Pros

I urge you to save yourself from the trouble and avoid purchasing Talech or Poynt for your POS system. I have never experienced such incompetence and difficulties with a system and its customer service in my entire life. One day, the system works, and the next day it's broken. Initially, I was able to easily refund my customers for the first couple of months, but now the system doesn't allow me to do so. Every day, when I encounter a major problem, I call customer service and get the same agent who has no clue what he's talking about. They put me on hold for hours to search on Google for something I've already tried to look up on my own. I know more about the system than the company itself. Furthermore, when I received the system, my representative promised me a barcode scanner, cash drawer, barcode printer, and more. However, I received nothing except a tiny, useless screen. They continue to charge me for a "bundle package" that doesn't even exist. I can't emphasize enough how terrible this system is and how equally bad the customer service is. For the sake of your sanity, do not purchase it!

Cons

There seems to be a new issue on the back end every day, and when I contact customer service for help, they are unable to assist me. Instead of finding a solution, they simply attribute it to a glitch in my system and claim there is nothing they can do.

We don't have a record of you calling...
Pros

Right from the beginning, it seemed like it would be easy to use and everything would connect smoothly, and indeed, it did initially.

Cons

One major frustration is that the card readers frequently break down, which can quickly ruin your day. If you need to issue a refund to a customer, it becomes impossible unless the card reader is functioning properly. The Bluetooth connection frequently drops, and there doesn't seem to be any solution other than replacing the device.

Stay Away
Pros

The interface is quite user-friendly. Although tech support is available, they are mostly unhelpful.

Cons

My experience with Talech over the course of 4 years has been absolutely terrible. One of the major issues is the frequent breakdown of their card readers. It's a constant cycle of purchasing a new one, which only works for a couple of weeks before needing to be replaced again. We also encountered problems with charges, and they admitted that their software was faulty. The worst part was discovering that thousands of dollars were not deposited into our account due to their 'bug'. We stumbled upon this issue by accident. If you're looking for a reliable and secure merchant provider, I strongly advise staying away from Talech.

Very stressful.
Pros

I chose this software because it integrates sales and inventory tracking. When it functions properly, it is brilliant. Unfortunately, it fails regularly.

Cons

I have been using this system for about a year now, and it has been a constant struggle. I've spent approximately 16 to 18 hours troubleshooting on the phone with their support team, in addition to countless hours trying to figure things out on my own when it fails. It has a tendency to suddenly stop accepting credit card payments, and even with the assistance of their support, we've never been able to process a return. There are also issues with the cash drawer not opening or receipts not printing. We find ourselves constantly rebooting the machine, turning things on and off, disconnecting and reconnecting, and after multiple attempts, it sometimes starts working. We have documented different methods to make it function, but it's frustrating to spend so much time just trying to keep the system operational. Talech has really let me down as a client. While their support technicians are doing their best, they don't have much to work with. I've had to send numerous customers to the bank machine or ask them to come back and pay later, which is not feasible for a small business like ours. Some people never return. I've been trying for a whole week to speak with a higher-level representative from the company to find a solution or consider switching to another company, but they don't seem to make any real effort to get in touch with me. Despite providing my direct phone number, I haven't received a call back. Proceed with caution when dealing with Talech.
