Key Takeaways

Generated from the text of customer reviews

Fullbay is a cloud-based shop management platform for heavy-duty diesel and truck repair businesses, used by shop owners, technicians, and office staff. Users value its service order workflow and invoice tracking. However, its reporting features may be limited. Recently, Fullbay acquired Pitstop, a smart predictive maintenance platform, and launched an AI-powered service order feature that transcribes voice input and cleans up technician notes automatically.

Our Verdict

Fullbay CMMS works well for independent diesel shops and small fleet operations that need service orders, parts tracking, and accounting sync in one place. Pricing runs higher for very small shops, but most users find the reduction in admin work justifies the cost once the team is up to speed.

What is Fullbay?

Fullbay software stands out as a diverse, web-based repair management solution uniquely tailored for heavy-duty repair shops. It streamlines the entire process, from receiving repair requests to generating customer invoices, empowering shop owners and employees to handle all their tasks efficiently This not only saves time but also boosts business productivity, making Fullbay a standout choice in the market.

What Is Fullbay Best For?

One of Fullbay's most practical capabilities is its 2-Way Texting feature. It lets shop owners and service advisors send and receive text messages with customers and technicians directly inside the platform. Instead of switching between a phone, email, and shop management system to chase approvals or share repair updates, all communication stays in one place alongside the service order. Customers can receive real-time repair status updates, photo attachments, and follow-up messages without calling the shop, which reduces phone traffic and keeps jobs moving faster.

How Much Does Fullbay Cost?

Fullbay price is estimated to start at $188.00/month. It offers four different plans, including:

  • Basic
  • Pro
  • Elite
  • Enterprise

All plans are billed monthly under an annual agreement. Pricing is provided through a custom quote.

Besides the base subscription fee, organizations evaluating Fullbay may need to budget for the following costs:

  • Implementation And Onboarding: $1,000–$10,000
  • QuickBooks, ERP, and Accounting Integrations: $500–$5,000
  • Telematics And Fleet System Integrations: $2,000–$15,000
  • Customer Communication: $100–$3,000
  • Payment Processing Fees: Typically, 2.5%–3.5% of transaction value

Users generally describe Fullbay as an affordable option relative to what it offers, with several noting that the multi-tiered pricing structure works well for shops at different stages. However, some smaller-scale truck repair shops flag the cost as difficult to justify on tighter budgets. A few users mention limited flexibility around custom rate editing and return pricing adjustments.

Fullbay Use Cases

Based on our analysis of Fullbay's current capabilities and feedback obtained from users, we have identified key scenarios where this platform is a good fit for heavy-duty repair shops and fleet operations:

Multi-Tech Shops Tracking Labor Hours Across The Floor

Shop managers overseeing several technicians at once use Fullbay to monitor job progress without relying on verbal updates or physical check-ins. Technicians clock into service orders directly, log notes after completing work, and move to the next job without going through the office. This gives managers greater visibility into shop activity without relying on paper timesheets or frequent status checks.

Repair Shops Managing Parts Across Multiple Locations

Parts management becomes harder to track as a shop grows, particularly when multiple technicians, vendors, and storage locations are involved. Fullbay tracks parts from purchase order through installation and flags low stock levels, so technicians can pull what they need without leaving their work area. This structure can help reduce manual inventory reconciliation while improving visibility into stock movement.

Fleet Operators Maintaining Large Vehicle Counts

Organizations responsible for maintaining fleets of 50 or more trucks rely on Fullbay to keep PM schedules, service histories, and parts records organized by unit. The reporting tools give fleet managers visibility into which units are due for service and where maintenance costs are concentrated, supporting decisions that would otherwise require pulling data from multiple sources. Reviewers highlighted reporting and business visibility as valuable components of managing shop performance on a daily basis.

Shops Running QuickBooks That Need Tighter Accounting Integration

Fullbay integrates shop management activities directly with QuickBooks, which can simplify how repair businesses manage both operational and accounting workflows. Service orders, invoices, payments, labor records, and parts information remain connected rather than being maintained across separate systems and spreadsheets. For shops processing a high volume of repair work, this approach can help reduce duplicate data entry while improving consistency between shop and financial records.

Simple fleet record access

Pros

I rely on this as our internal system to monitor and keep records for our fleet of more than a hundred tucks. It's incredibly simple to sign in and pull up records to figure out what needs scheduling soon. Our technicians log in on their phones to check the jobs assigned to them and start working right away. Overall it's been a very good value and pretty easy to pick up, even though we haven't tapped into all of its capabilities.

Cons

Over the last five years I've only run into a single problem with this tool and it still hasn't been sorted out. The trouble lies with how it generates reports and I wish there were a printer-friendly version, I'm certain some reports exist but not the specific one I rely on. It looks great on the screen, yet when I print it, the output doesn't match the on-screen layout at all.

Organized shop scheduling

Pros

Managing our shop has become a lot easier since we started using this tool. I rely on the scheduling and maintenance management features to keep every task and appointment neatly organized and the live tracking for repairs and parts has cut down on so much back-and-forth and wasted time. The interface feels clean and simple so even team members who are new pick it up quickly. I also appreciate the platform's strong security and reliability, we haven't run into downtime or data loss which gives me real peace of mind.

Cons

The only real drawback I've noticed is the initial learning curve, it can take some time for new hires to get comfortable with all of the functionality but after a bit of hands-on use they usually settle in fine. A small number of reports could benefit from more customization settings although that hasn't been a major problem for us overall.
