No more fixed workflows

Pros

Its ability to customize scripts is a standout for me and the flexibility it offers for both scripting and integrations makes it really useful. I'm able to customize things to fit what I need rather than being stuck with fixed workflows.

Cons

There are times when it's tricky to figure out exactly where the errors are coming from so debugging can take a bit longer than I'd expect.

easy navigation

Pros

There are tons of customizable options and the interface is simple to figure out. The whole system feels pretty flexible so it can be adapted to the way our team works without too much friction.

Cons

A downside is that we ended up having to build quite a bit from scratch. On top of that we needed to spend time training the developers on how we wanted everything set up and used.

powerful reporting after some training

Pros

After you get the ins and outs of this program you can build almost any operational, management or finance report you can think of. There are a ton of options for distributing and visualizing data and the reporting setup makes sense once the workflow clicks. It also offers plenty of data retrieval choices, including pulling data straight into Excel for teams that live in spreadsheets. Overall, it's a logical tool and the process feels fairly simple once you've learned the system.

Cons

Every reporting platform has its quirks and this one is no exception. Getting an admin up and running takes a lot of learning time though basic users usually won't struggle as much. That said, it could definitely be more user friendly especially for people who are new to the reporting side.

simplify donor relationship management

Pros

Has helped us simplify donor relationship management and keep our program tracking organized. With so many built in features, we're able to save time and spend more energy on building better relationships with our donors.

Cons

The sheer number of features means finding the right setup and approach is a bit difficult at first.

Solid ERP

Pros

It's full ERP suite feels genuinely powerful especially the Advanced Inventory, reporting and CRM modules. The interface is approachable for different types of users and setup/configuration is simple enough to get teams up and running without too much hassle. What really stands out is how strong the customization options are. You can modify things to fit specific workflows and still leave room to grow. Overall, it's a great match for small to medium organizations that want a comprehensive system.

Cons

Don't have anything negative to say. Everything feels well balanced and I haven't run into any limitations or gaps that make me dislike the platform.

Powerful billing capabilities

Pros

Offers really strong billing and invoicing capabilities. Project and task management is simple and it also takes care of accounting and accounts payable without a fuss. On top of that the platform is flexible enough to be customized so it can fit the way our business operates.

Cons

Getting started and learning how to use it has been smooth and it covers everything we need. No real problems to report.

amazing support for non profits

Pros

This software has been a fantastic fit for nonprofit work like ours. We launched firstladiesofafrica.org just before the pandemic and the help we got from their team was honestly phenomenal. They guided us through the whole program and I was able to learn everything at a pace that worked for me. I never felt pushed or rushed and the training and access were provided at no cost through their donation program. The platform also includes a lot of applications but it still feels easy to use. Best of all, they customized the setup to match what we needed. I'd happily recommend it to anyone starting up or already running a nonprofit.

Cons

No real complaints here. Everything has worked out well for our organization.

strong multi system ERP

Pros

Great at connecting with all the systems we use like Amazon, our website and eBay so everything runs through one place. Having a single setup for both accounting and inventory management really cuts down on the hassle of juggling separate tools. Another plus is that it's fairly forgiving. When something is entered wrong, it's easy to fix without turning into a bigger problem. I also appreciate the flexibility to add custom fields to items and modify the setup to match how our business actually operates.

Cons

Pricing has become a concern over time. During the first three years with the company, the annual software increase was around 5% but now in year five it's projected to jump to about 20 to 30% each year going forward. At that rate, the system could become too expensive in just a few years. Switching ERP platforms is a major undertaking and since there's no clear cap on renewal fees, the cost could spike further and leave you stuck. If you're considering signing up, I'd strongly push for a maximum cap ideally no more than a 5% increase per year for software pricing.

tough setup

Pros

The platform feels modern and supports a more flexible setup where people can work from anywhere as long as they have internet access.

Cons

The ready-made setup doesn't seem to fit most organizations. Expect to pay for expensive consulting, adjust existing processes and deal with some user pushback before it really works.

Customization at the cost of speed

Pros

There are a lot of capabilities and it's flexible enough to customize workflows to different needs. The platform is multi faceted and can be customized far beyond the basics.

Cons

Performance is a bit of a letdown. Even routine tasks, like loading a customer record to view or edit details, take noticeably longer than expected which adds friction to everyday use.

easy navigation

Pros

I've been using this as part of my job for several years now. While I'm not a power user of every feature, a bit of basic training was enough for me to move around the system confidently and verify that our program integrations with other software platforms are set up correctly.

Cons

Customizing custom fields feels pretty constrained. We've also run into problems with a proper integration with SAP Concur which has led to some issues for us.

Frustrating set up process

Pros

Once the processes and reports are configured, it's surprisingly easy to use. The process side moves quickly and it also hooks in cleanly with other software we already rely on.

Cons

Rolling out anything new can be a pain. The internal implementation team isn't great and the costs start to feel like add ons-every request comes with a "nickel and dime" vibe. Even the quarterly check-ins feel more like sales pitches than genuine support.

weak support team response

Pros

This tool helps a lot with staying on top of inventory levels and sales numbers so you're not guessing as much day to day.

Cons

Customer support has been frustrating. Unless you're prepared to pay extra, it's basically impossible to get any real help from someone. There also wasn't much direct contact with an account manager and after two calls with two different managers, there's been nothing since.

Accurate results

Pros

I liked how powerful the platform is. It also gives real peace of mind that you're working in an environment which produces accurate results and points out inconsistencies.

Cons

Pricing feels very high and I do think there should be more flexibility. Maybe thresholds or clearer guidance on which kinds of companies it fits. As it stands, a business could end up in trouble if it doesn't generate enough contribution margin to cover the cost of the software.

strong multi currency consolidation

Pros

Great for consolidating data when you're working with multiple currencies. Once everything's set up, bringing the figures together is easy and feels made for real business needs.

Cons

The only catch is that it's a bit pricey but for companies handling different currencies, it still ends up being worth it.

December 2023

outdated UI

Pros

This tends to be the default choice for growing companies once you pass roughly 100 employees or around $100M in revenue. It sits in that awkward zone where you're beyond something like QuickBooks but you still may not be ready to justify a fully custom "true enterprise" stack. Pricing feels like a good value for what it covers but development and polish are clearly lagging.

Cons

Interface feels like it's stuck in 2008 and it honestly drags the whole experience down. It's hard to accept that it's marketed as a modern web app when the UI looks and feels so dated. We moved over within the last couple of years so this isn't just an old installation instead it's the product itself. Even for newer mobile features, like an Android expense tracking app, the reviews are so bad that I won't install it on my phone. Yes, the backend seems to keep our accounts accurate but from a day to day user standpoint, it's disappointing to watch a product this old and rough get sold as current.

User friendly timesheets

Pros

Pretty easy to use overall. Once someone shows you how to complete a line, it's simple to enter hours either in a time sheet or within an expense report.

Cons

If you accidentally leave a required field blank, the error messaging doesn't really help; it's cryptic and tough to interpret quickly. Also, the smallest time unit you can enter is 15 minutes and looking up project numbers can get a bit annoying.
