customized to fit our needs

Pros

Every transaction can capture a lot of useful data which makes the system very adaptable to the way we work. It can be customized to fit our specific needs and pulling reports from that data is really helpful.

Cons

Getting a full understanding of everything the system can do has been challenging with a small finance team. There are a lot of features built in and finding the right information can sometimes feel pretty complex.

Reliable finance hub

Pros

The financial module is a strong point and having a central database makes everything much more consistent. It also supports a wide range of applications within its ecosystem which works really well for a medium sized enterprise.

Cons

User interface could definitely use some improvement and feel more modern and attractive. At times, NetSuite also becomes quite slow espeically when there's a lot of heavy customization in the records.

weak controls

Pros

Works well as an ERP for small to mid sized businesses. It's flexible, fairly easy to understand and the saved searches can be built quickly to help answer all kinds of business questions.

Cons

Coming from SAP, a few things have been frustrating. First, the access and role setup feels like it lacks a proper control framework and I don't really see enough internal control around permissions. On top of that the interface is difficult to navigate. There are plenty of drop down menus yet I still struggle to locate what I need. Reporting also feels pretty basic and the dashboard and business analytics tools seem limited, at least from what we've been able to use. Another issue is the add on apps. I'm not a fan of how some modules have been developed by external partners instead of being part of one unified solution. We recently looked into using the scheduling tool in advanced manufacturing and it was poor enough that the recommendation was to find a different partner tool instead. Relying on outside partners also means managing relationships with multiple vendors and the level of service is not always consistent.

powerful consolidation

Pros

Covers the key areas we need really well espeically for managing PPE, prepayments and revenue. It also performs exceptionally well when it comes to consolidation, intercompany transactions and handling multiple currencies.

Cons

One area that can be frustrating is building saved searches since the process is not always very simple. It can also be hard to locate the right fields because there are many with very similar names.

Productivity boost due to NetSuite ecosystem

Pros

Everything being available in one platform gives us solid control and keeps the workflow flowing well. It also comes with a wide range of apps that help get work done more productively.

Cons

Creating a universal invoice template that works across all entities has been difficult. Finding a clear way to do it through SuiteHelp and Google searches is also harder than it should be.

strong financial control but rough FSM

Pros

The system is visually easy to work with and when mistakes happen, they're usually simple to correct. We also moved from using several different systems to just this one so having everything together in one place has been really valuable.

Cons

FSM still feels like it's in a development stage. For our business, it just doesn't meet the standard we need right now. The WIP solution isn't ideal either and we've run into quite a few problems with time billing.

One thing that really stands out is the MCP connection with Claude. I also really appreciate the MCIP platform and how the platform lets us connect different systems in a practical way.

Cons

There's nothing to complain about.

visibility and scalability boost

Pros

Has given us much better visibility into the business and it's been excellent for scalability as well. It's a platform that can continue to grow right alongside us as our needs expand.

Cons

Navigation can be tricky at times. When setting up new lists, finding the correct field ID in the criteria isn't always quick which makes it harder to pull the exact information you're looking for.

all in one ERP visibility

Pros

Gives me clear visibility into my inventory so I always know what's happening and keeping everything in a single system saves me a lot of time.

Cons

The pricing is fairly expensive and you're usually committed for at least a year. It can also be hard to get support quickly when something urgent comes up.

Pros

Having everything in one system lets us connects our team to the full set of data the business collects very easily.

Cons

Some enhancements still feel unfinished, like consignment stock not being supported on Assembly items which limits our ability to use it fully.

Absolutely worth the money

Pros

It really feels like we made the right choice with this solution. The level of innovation stands out and having one reliable tool across the business is incredibly valuable for our enterprise.

Cons

Not much to complain about. The only downside is that being based in Australia, we sometimes have to wait a bit longer for updates though that's understandable given the differences in currencies and regulations.

smooth integrations

Pros

One thing that really works well is how it connects and collaborates with other software, like employee reimbursement tools for example. The syncing is very reliable which makes the whole process much more efficient.

Cons

At times, saved searches can be difficult to edit so it ends up being necessary to create new ones instead. On the bright side, going through that process does help build a better understanding of how everything works.

really helpful SuiteAnswers site

Pros

The system is simple to work with and the support team is approachable when help is needed. SuiteAnswers is also very useful for the team espeically since we don't have a dedicated finance system in place.

Cons

Performance tends to slow down during busy periods, like month-end and journal uploads can take longer than expected. Saved searches also have room for improvement.

Amazing customization capabilities

Pros

Customization options and overall adaptability are a big plus. NetSuite OneWorld works really well for consolidation, subsidiary management and handling multiple currencies.

Cons

Report loading can be quite slow and intercompany eliminations also take longer than they should. Building reports gets difficult when they need to pull from multiple fields.

Broad range of integrations

Pros

Really good value for the money, with a user friendly setup and powerful integrations. One thing I especially appreciate is being able to manage the system with our own internal team instead of depending on outside consultants or third parties.

Cons

Financial reporting is entirely based on account type which can be restrictive when you're working with an existing chart of accounts. There also isn't enough flexibility when it comes to building management reports around specific requirements. I also wish the reporting had more filter options so I could pull reports with department, class and location breakdowns all at the same time.

Slow exports

Pros

Managing subsidiaries and handling consolidations directly in the system is really helpful since there's no need to export everything to Excel first. The foreign currency management is also a solid feature and works well.

Cons

The downside is that data takes too long to load and it feels more manual compared with Xero. It also has less AI functionality and more outdated export options. On top of that downloading more than 1-2 months of data often fails because the export or loading process breaks.

powerful reporting and visibility

Pros

Its a powerful cloud ERP that delivers strong financial reporting, real time visibility into data and plenty of flexibility for customization.

Cons

Getting comfortable with it takes time because the interface isn't very easy and performance can lag now and then. Customization and reporting frequently need technical know-how and the quality of support responses can be hit or miss.

Pros

Customization is very easy and the platform is highly flexible. There's also a lot of useful material in Learning Pass, along with solid guidance available through SuiteAnswers.

Troubleshooting performance problems can be difficult once all the customization is in place espeically when the issue seems tied to server performance.
