Powtoon Features
AI-Powered Video Generation
Powtoon's AI suite transforms scripts, documents, PDFs, and presentations into fully produced videos within minutes. Users can generate scripts, voiceovers, avatars, and captions through a single workflow, significantly reducing production time without requiring any prior video editing experience.
Animated Character Builder
The platform provides a character creation tool that allows users to fully customize animated figures — including hairstyles, clothing, facial expressions, and gestures — to match brand identity. This makes storytelling more personalized and visually consistent across training, marketing, and educational content.
Screen And Webcam Recording
Powtoon's built-in capture feature lets users record their screen, webcam, or both simultaneously, then refine the footage directly within the studio. This is particularly useful for creating product demos, tutorials, onboarding materials, and instructional content without relying on third-party recording tools.
Multi-Format Export And Publishing
Finished projects can be exported as MP4, PDF, or PowerPoint files, or published directly to platforms such as YouTube, Vimeo, HubSpot, Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Facebook Ads Manager. “Versatile styles and polished voiceovers”
Pros
There are lots of different styles to work with and most of the platform is pretty simple to use. The new AI voiceovers also sound very professional and really improve the overall quality.
Cons
Every now and then I run into minor browser-related loading issues. I also couldn't find a way to delete uploads I no longer need, so I end up scrolling through a lot of extra material.

“packed with helpful timing tools”
Pros
The quality of the content I can make with Powtoon is really good. It's simple to work with and the progress bar along the bottom makes it convenient to control exactly when elements show up and disappear.
Cons
Pricing is the biggest downside. It feels too expensive and considering how much it costs, it's frustrating that some videos and audio still come with watermarks. I'd also love to see more variety in the library, plus a better way to switch between poses within the character animations.

“provide engaging videos in minutes”
Pros
Creating polished, visually engaging videos with Powtoon is very approachable, even without advanced design experience. The ready-made templates and animations cut down the time it takes to build something professional, while still leaving me room to customize the final result.
Cons
Customization can feel a bit restrictive At times especially when you want to make something more distinctive or closely aligned with specific branding beyond what the built-in templates allow.
