simple virtual assistant

Pros

I really appreciate how simple it is to use with one provider and a built in virtual assistant. It makes it much easier to communicate with my patients while also coordinating with my assistant.

Cons

The messaging experience needs a little improvement depending on screen size. I'd also like it to work more reliably on Safari with MacBooks.

great UI

Pros

The user interface is excellent ... everything feels simple and pretty simple. It's also well integrated with payment processing so handling bookings and appointments runs smoothly and day to day management is easy.

Cons

Pricing is on the high side for small practices that only have one person or a small team. A couple of features also seem aimed more at larger groups, prescribing workflows, etc. so they weren't really fully used in my setup.

perfect appointment management

Pros

Overall, it's a really solid EMR. The calendar layout is something I genuinely appreciate and scheduling appointments feels extremely simple. The telehealth interface stands out as especially good and clients consistently seem happy with it most report no problems jumping into telehealth. Reminders also get positive feedback and online payments are just as painless to handle, too.

Cons

The one area that still needs improvement is updating treatment plans. To make changes, you have to open the previous plan and edit directly within it which took me a while to figure out. It feels like there should be a clearer, more direct and more clinically helpful way to update plans without all that extra back and forth.

not worth the money..

Pros

It acts like an all in one workspace where you can set up templates for key HIPAA compliant tasks like charting and appointment management. The interface feels simple and adaptive so getting around the system doesn't take much effort. I never ran into bugs or glitches during use and since I didn't need to reach out to customer support, it seems like everything has been functioning at a solid level.

Cons

Since I'm running a solo private practice, SimplePractice didn't end up being the best value for the money.

easy scheduling and templates

Pros

SimplePractice has been a real win for me setup and day to day use feel simple and appointment management is handled cleanly. I also appreciate how simple it is to create templates and send them out, plus the way intake paperwork gets organized so clients can get through the forms without a hassle. Being able to document notes right in the system made the whole workflow feel more organized.

Cons

I'm operating a one person practice and the price jump was pretty significant and ended up putting it out of my budget. Functionally, the platform itself was solid and I would've kept using it if the pricing hadn't increased.

telehealth options are great

Pros

It's pretty simple to use and setting it up for multiple users is painless. The telehealth options have worked reliably too, with very few glitches or error pop ups during my usage.

Cons

Cost wise, it feels quite expensive compared to other tools in the market. Also, the premium features don't seem to match what you pay so the value isn't as strong as I expected.

user-friendly portal

Pros

Using SimplePractice has been a pleasure both our team and, more importantly, our clients have found the client portal reporting really simple and user friendly. The document storage feature has also been a lifesaver especially for keeping everything organized and for creating and sending our own documents. Once insurance filing is set up, it becomes much less painful and it's noticeably simpler to file and resubmit claims compared with other platforms we've tried. Also, customer support has consistently been available and quick to respond when we need help.

Cons

Pricing runs higher than other comparable EHR options. It feels worth it for our practice since we have multiple team members but it could get too costly if we grow the team further.

Loved using it

Pros

Simple Practice felt simple to use and genuinely consumer friendly. I also felt confident that my files were protected with encryption and that the setup met HIPAA compliance requirements.

Cons

Pricing eventually started to feel a bit steep for a solo business. It might make more sense cost wise for larger companies that can spread the expense across a bigger team.

Reliable virtual appointment reminders

Pros

It works really well for virtual appointments. Automated reminders go out by phone, text and email and they connect smoothly to opening the app for the actual video appointment.

Cons

There's no feature that lets clients choose or request new appointment times with practitioners. The phone reminder includes a cancel option but the text and email reminders don't offer the same cancellation capability.

highly customizable

Pros

This tool feels genuinely customizable and simple to use. I especially enjoy building my own forms other platforms often claim they're customizable but they don't deliver the same level of real flexibility.

Cons

The pricing is extremely high compared to other EHR options and the costs keep creeping up with minimal notice. You may only get around 30 days to decide whether to accept the increase or scramble to evaluate alternatives and switch platforms if you don't agree with the new pricing.

note scrolling helps alot!!

Pros

I really liked the way you can scroll through your notes and instantly see everything in one place. Reviewing what happened in past sessions has been a lot simpler than with other EHRs I've tried CarePatron is the only one that came close for me so far.

Cons

High cost doesn't feel justified right now. There are other EHR options that work just as well particularly for smaller practices that aren't using insurance so it's hard to see the value at this cost.

Easy setup

Pros

The platform is pretty simple to use and getting the app management set up was simple. Overall, we've been happy with how it's worked for our needs. We haven't had to rely on customer support much so there's no real feedback from us on that side yet.

Cons

Cost is the main downside. Occasionally, the links for virtual sessions don't work properly which means we end up having to send the link to participants separately.

makes appointment management easy

Pros

I'm really happy with how appointment management is handled here everything stays organized and I don't run into many interruptions. The workflow feels pretty organized which makes scheduling much less stressful.

Cons

On the pricing side, I think the practice charges are way too high and the rates keep getting bumped up. It honestly gives off a predatory vibe which is frustrating.

all-in-one platform !

Pros

This feels like a real all in one solution and the convenience doesn't come at the cost of quality or innovation. I rarely have to reach out to support but when I did, they were quick to respond and the communication was clear.

Cons

Setting up adult family therapy took a bit of effort and I'd prefer it if the telehealth setup offered a reusable single link for each session instead of needing a fresh link every time.

prefilled templates work for me

Pros

Really enjoyed how simple everything felt especially with the prefilled templates. The platform is user friendly and it connects nicely with outside tools like my calendar and payment processing. Moving from another EHR system was also smooth which made the transition painless.

Cons

The one part I liked the least was the pricing. Also, a few of the templates felt a bit too general and weren't tailored enough to my family practice specialty.

appointments and billing made simple

Pros

I use this software as a customer through another organization and overall it's been very simple. I mostly rely on it to contact my provider, handle scheduling and review my billing. The interface is pretty direct about what it's showing me so it's easy to navigate from a user standpoint, even though I'm not really sure what the backend looks like.

Cons

Setup for system settings feels a bit unusual it's not exactly a deal breaker but there's no password for the application. Instead, I get an email to confirm it's me which might be specific to how my provider configured things but I can't say for sure.

Strong insurance support

Pros

This has been fantastic for therapy practices that accept payments from regular insurance carriers. The interface feels polished for both clients and clinicians which makes day to day usage a lot more simple.

Cons

Reporting isn't as efficient as what you get with other EHR options for therapy practices. Also, there's no real way to include non traditional insurance plans and still generate reports showing what each carrier owes.

perfect tool for my work

Pros

For practices like mine that bill traditional insurance carriers, this works wonderfully. I also find the user experience for clients and clinicians to be excellent.

Cons

I feel the reporting features are weaker than what I've seen in other therapy-focused EHRs and I can't pull reports for amounts owed by companies when we're using non-traditional insurance plans, which is a real limitation.

telehealth and automation that save time

Pros

SimplePractice has a clean, simple setup that makes it simple to manage everything day to day. The telehealth features work well, the billing tools cover the essentials and the built in automation really helps cut down on repetitive admin tasks. Overall, it feels like a time saver less time spent on paperwork and more time focusing on clients.

Cons

There are a few gaps if you need deeper customization or more advanced reporting and the platform doesn't offer fully open API integrations yet. Some users may also run into occasional instability, plus there are times when certain client portal features don't show up as expected. Support is mostly handled through email/chat rather than more direct options.

affordable EMR!!

Pros

This EMR is pretty cost effective versus other options I compared. Scheduling is simple and the patient portal worked smoothly enough for day to day use. Whenever I ran into questions, real customer support was there to help.

Cons

When I was setting up my practice, creating templates took me a bit of extra time to figure out. I also couldn't create temporary student accounts for graduate student supervision which was a limitation for my workflow.
