“Templates are a bonus”
Pros
The templates are a huge plus and being able to share my screen during telehealth sessions is something I really love.
Cons
Telehealth costs extra here, especially when other services include it for free.

“custom forms simplify onboarding”
Pros
Being able to customize informed consent forms and send them to clients electronically has been a huge plus. It makes the onboarding process much more organized. I also really appreciate that the same documents can be sent to multiple people or email addresses for the same client.
Cons
The layout isn't especially user-friendly at the beginning. It takes a bit of time to learn where everything is and how it's organized.

“Valuable features”
Pros
Running a new mental health practice, I've really appreciated the functionality here. It includes a lot of useful features like customizable intake and assessment forms, a client portal that's simple for people to use and helpful scheduling and reminder tools. The overall range of services and built-in tools is pretty broad and most of them have been genuinely useful.
Cons
A few parts of the setup process are not very clear and getting live customer support can be frustrating since it feels hard to reach and slow to respond.

“they listen to feedback”
Pros
It feels very practical and organized to use. The software is simple to navigate and can be customized to fit your specific needs. It really seems ahead of the curve and I appreciate that the team genuinely listens to user feedback.
Cons
My only frustration before was that it wasn't possible to add multiple clients under one email address. That said, it took user feedback seriously and has since resolved that issue I had in the past.

“Simple patient portal”
Pros
The organized layout and simple patient portal are really helpful. It makes going paperless much more manageable and keeps everything secure and in one place.
Cons
At the same time it is not as user-friendly as it could be. Sometimes it takes quite a while to figure out a basic task such as how to email invoices to a parent rather than directly to the client. I also dislike that customer support is not available by phone. Even though they reply quickly by email, I would still prefer having the option to speak with a real person.

“Private practice made manageable”
Pros
Handling all of my paperwork online feels secure so I never have to stress about it. I can also manage client billing in the same system and that has made starting my private practice much more manageable. On top of that, there are plenty of useful videos I can rely on whenever questions come up and the software keeps getting better with ongoing updates.
Cons
I'd really want more flexibility to customize certain templates so they fit my needs better. For instance I shouldn't have to enter a diagnosis on a treatment plan when the client isn't using insurance.

“packed with essentials”
Pros
Everything about it feels very user-friendly and anytime I'm unsure how to handle something, there's usually a blog post that explains the solution. It really includes everything I need to manage my small therapy practice.
Cons
when a parent is also a client or when multiple children are being seen, each child has to have a separate email address.

“Would recommend!!”
Pros
Having a platform like this has made a big difference in my day-to-day work. In the mental health field, there is already plenty to manage so I really appreciate software that takes some of that pressure off. It's user friendly and helps simplify so many parts of my job, especially documentation, scheduling and billing. I've recommended it to others before and will absolutely keep recommending it. Please keep doing what you're doing!
Cons
I did run into some challenges using the software in a group practice setting, particularly when working with minors. Thankfully, those issues have been resolved over the last few months and they are no longer a problem. At this point, I really can't think of any other downside.

“Keeps electronic medical records secure”
Pros
The appointment reminder feature has been really helpful and having a secure system for electronic medical records is a big plus.
Cons
not being able to directly import an intake template from a Word document that I had already been using is frustrating.

“fantastic new-user guide”
Pros
The setup process was incredibly quick and the onboarding process made a big difference. You can be up and running in about an hour but there are also plenty of options for detailed templates and more advanced documentation if you need them. The new-user guide really stood out to me because the sidebar had a checklist of recommended setup steps, along with links and explanations for each one. It honestly felt like someone was right there guiding me through everything. I also really appreciate how simple it is to jump back into client information and the calendar. I had heard positive things about the mobile app though I had not used it much at first. Then I realized I could use my phone to take pictures directly inside SP and they do not get saved to my personal photo library. Not having to print, scan, email and upload documents was such a pleasant surprise.
Cons
An area that left me wanting more was the information about how they protect client PHI. It was not presented as clearly or prominently as I expected. I had to ask very specific questions to get the details I needed and even then the explanations did not feel especially thorough. I believe it is using the proper safeguards but I would have felt more at ease if that information had been easier to find and more fully explained.

“Everything I needed”
Pros
Everything I need is built into it and the billing tools have been especially useful.
Cons
some users really only need access to the calendar. I wish there were add-on options for specific features instead of having to purchase a full account for each additional user.

“Strong help database”
Pros
it does a really nice job balancing practice management with clinical documentation for a small practice and I appreciate how much flexibility it gives me with customizing forms and documents. The client portal is simple to use and I almost never have clients run into problems with it. The booking widget works well on my website, too. Telehealth has been reliable, with very good video and audio quality. Another big plus is the help database, it's one of the better support libraries I've come across, with plenty of useful articles and clear, up-to-date instructions.
Cons
The settings menu isn't very user-friendly so finding a specific option can take more digging than it should. The CEU offerings also don't really cover topics that interest me. Their clearinghouse is missing one of the insurance carriers I need and the reporting and broader practice management tools feel fairly limited. I'm also not a fan of the paid therapist collaboration group being hosted on Facebook, especially when sensitive information may be discussed there. Given Facebook's reputation, that feels out of step with SimplePractice's brand and quality. On top of that, charging users for access to a group on a platform that costs them little to host, aside from possible moderation, doesn't feel like a particularly good value.

“Flawless performance”
Pros
Navigating the many sections for documentation, claim filing and entering client details feels very manageable. The platform covers a wide range of tasks I need in one place which makes day-to-day work much more convenient.
Cons
I just wish I had more time to fully learn everything the product can do. I'd also love an option to import patient information from another program instead of typing everything into it manually, unless that feature already exists.

“Modern UX”
Pros
The sleek, modern UX stands out but the biggest advantage is really the platform's overall functionality. It does a much better job than most electronic health record systems I've used. It's not flawless by any means but it's probably the closest thing to a complete solution available right now.
Cons
Client portal still feels underdeveloped, especially when you're serving a more high-end clientele. If the software offered more customization beyond just the color scheme, it would be possible to refine even the smallest details to better match a practice's brand and expectations.

“patient and friendly staff”
Pros
Getting started with this platform was surprisingly simple. I had tried Theranest before and came away completely frustrated so switching to this one was a relief. It was honestly impressive how much simpler everything felt right away. When I did run into some confusion around insurance, the customer service team was very attentive and the written response they sent to my question was detailed and thorough.
Cons
The learning curve has still felt pretty steep at times and figuring out the billing setup and understanding the billing information is less user-friendly than I would prefer.

“great way to stay in touch with patients”
Pros
practice policy paperwork has been really useful. It sends messages out promptly and gives me a convenient way to stay in touch with patients through surveys and questionnaires, plus I can have documents signed electronically. It did take me a bit of time to learn how everything worked but once I got used to it, it was helpful.
Cons
Lately it has been freezing whenever I try to edit the intake note templates which has been frustrating. Building forms and making changes to existing ones is also a bit confusing and not as simple as it should be.

“More affordable compared with other EMRs”
Pros
Compared with other EMRs like Practice Fusion, the pricing is competitive, even though Practice Fusion includes e-labs and Luminello does not. The system is also fairly user-friendly to navigate and use.
Cons
Labs can't be sent electronically. You can print a generic lab slip for patients to bring to the lab but the list of available lab options is extremely limited. If what you need isn't listed, you can't use their slip for it because there's no "other" field where you can enter free text. I asked support about this and was told to put it in the comment section but when I tried that, the lab simply ignored it.
