“Variety of intake form templates”
Pros
it covers a lot of what I need in one place. It comes with a variety of intake form templates, includes all the diagnosis codes, generates statements and superbills, keeps appointments and notes well organized and automatically sends text and email reminders to clients.
Cons
The only thing I'd change is having Telehealth included in the Professional Plan.

“Clients are happy with it”
Pros
Getting started with it felt very simple. The interface is clean, the customization options are useful and nothing about using the software felt overly complicated. The telehealth portal has been excellent and the client portal is very simple to set up. My clients have had no issues or complaints when it comes to getting their portal ready to use.
Cons
If I could change one part of the program, it would be the appointment reminder and confirmation setup. It does a very good job sending reminders for upcoming appointments but clients can't actually confirm that they'll attend the session. Having that option built in would be really helpful since I currently have to follow up separately. It would also be useful to have a way to distinguish between individual and corporate clients because there isn't currently a setting to create a proper client profile for corporate accounts.

“Beautiful interface”
Pros
A big reason this worked for me is the beautiful interface which really matters in a platform I use every day. It comes with solid, full-featured tools and the mobile app has been a lifesaver for scheduling, uploading documents and staying in touch with people while I'm away from my desk. It was also user-friendly enough that most users could pick it up pretty quickly and it gives me more time to focus on the work I actually enjoy instead of getting buried in admin tasks.
Cons
As with most health record software, not every part of it feels completely user-friendly. That said, I was able to learn it just by jumping in without taking any training classes so it's still learnable through regular use. The demographics section seems built mainly for insurance billing so it's not as detailed as I would prefer. There are also a few features from my previous software that I still miss but overall this has been a really strong program and it helped me get started in private practice.

“Open to feedback”
Pros
Having everything built into one platform is what I appreciate most, new client intake forms, billing, scheduling, appointment reminders and insurance claim submission are all included and the value for the price is outstanding. I used SimplePractice the first time I was in private practice for five years and now that I'm starting a practice again, I came back to it. One of the things I always remembered most was the customer support, along with how open the company was to feedback and adding new features.
Cons
Honestly, I can't think of anything I dislike about it.

“Fantastic tool for practice management”
Pros
Love the overall experience. The platform was simple to set up, it's user-friendly and my clients have said it works very well on their end too. I also really appreciate not having to rely on other tools for note integration and client messaging since it's all built in.
Cons
There was a bit of a learning curve when it came to figuring out how to use it without taking insurance but after some practice and setup, it worked out really well. It would be even better if there were a more detailed onboarding tutorial for new practices.

“Photo note uploads save time”
Pros
Being able to snap a photo of my paper notes in the app and upload them directly is a huge plus. It cuts down on a lot of extra work and saves me a ton of time.
Cons
One thing I haven't been able to find is a collaborative paperwork option, at least not from what I could tell. There are times when I want to go over forms with someone in person so it would be really helpful to open a form together and complete it in real time within the system instead of only sending it through the client portal.

“support team responds in a timely manner”
Pros
Getting around the platform is simple and customer support usually responds within 24 hours. The client portal is also very user-friendly and works well for clients.
Cons
A few features and customization options still feel limited. I'd really like more flexibility such as being able to create my own custom reports. It would also help to attach documents to client records and have clients send them back through the messenger. Having the option for live phone and chat sessions would be a valuable addition.

“Helped me stay better organized”
Pros
Running a solo psychotherapy practice, I knew I needed something to help me stay better organized. After doing a bit of research, I came across this tool and started digging into the features, adjusting my intake forms and adding a few clients so I could get a real sense of how everything works. I've been really happy with the experience so far, especially with how simple the calendar and client portal/client information tools are to use. I'm also excited to start using the credit card processing, appointment reminders and the rest of the features it offers.
Cons
There's definitely a lot to learn and it has taken some time to get comfortable with everything, I'm still learning as I go. That said, the tutorials have been very helpful and the support team has been quick to respond whenever I've had questions. I chose to spend a little time each day during the 30-day free trial instead of expecting to figure it all out in one sitting and that approach has worked well for me.

“Love everything about it”
Pros
Starting a new practice, I wanted something simple and not overly complicated and this has been exactly that. I'm honestly amazed by how simple it is to use.
Cons
I really don't have any complaints. I've loved everything about it so far and I'm genuinely impressed by how comprehensive it is. The whole system is also very easy to navigate.

“Encouraging team”
Pros
It can be hard to start a private practice because of all the moving parts and the biggest relief for me has been how much support they provide. Between the staff's encouragement, the tutorial videos and the FAQs, there is always help available when I need it. The layout is user friendly and well organized which has made the whole process much less stressful. I'm especially thankful that they have a full insurance team ready to step in when questions come up. On top of that, having the payment system built right into the EHR is a huge plus because it saves me from juggling another tool, lets me stay focused on my clinical work and still makes sure I'm getting paid.
Cons
There are no downsides.

“Recommended by my friends”
Pros
it feels very natural. Even when I hit a snag with a task, I can usually sort it out in just a few minutes. The one time I contacted customer support, they were responsive and helpful. I'm really happy I came across this platform, especially since it was recommended by three of my psychologist friends.
Cons
The only downside I've noticed is that the default intake templates can't be deleted. You can create and add your own templates but the built-in ones still stay on the list. To avoid accidentally sending a client the wrong forms, I started naming my own templates in all caps which has helped reduce the confusion.

“completely paperless system”
Pros
Having the ability to customize my client portal documents has been a big plus and I really appreciate being able to run a completely paperless system. The billing tools are incredibly useful for tracking revenue and I like having access to insights and trends within my business. The credit card feature is another favorite and the autobill option makes it much simpler to consistently enforce my rates and policies.
Cons
Getting started with the EHR was a little challenging at first, especially when it came to figuring out how to navigate it. It took me some time to learn where the settings were since they aren't placed under a separate button. I also find the notes section less user-friendly than Therapy Notes, where there are more dropdown menus for entering information quickly, along with autofill options and the ability to make small adjustments when the mental status exam is WNL. Another thing I wish worked differently is scheduling future appointments. If I click on a future date, I'd expect the appointment details to automatically populate there but there have been times when I scheduled a future session and then couldn't find it because it appeared on the current date instead.

“Online booking feature has been a lifesaver”
Pros
online appointment booking has been an absolute lifesaver. On top of that, being able to request clients' credit card information and keep it securely on file for direct billing through the portal is incredibly convenient. Sending intake forms through the portal and getting them signed before clients even walk into the office is another huge help. The whole system is user-friendly and honestly makes running a private practice much more manageable.
Cons
I genuinely enjoy using this program. I could probably get even more out of it if I spent time watching tutorials and reading more about the portal features but overall it's very simple to use.

“face-to-face video support”
Pros
Right away, the layout felt clean and simple across a lot of the functions and processes. The 30-day trial turned out to be really useful and the face-to-face video support during onboarding was excellent. The phone app still needs some improvement but it's a very helpful tool overall, especially when I need to upload an image from my phone and save time.
Cons
At the same time, quite a few functions and processes are tucked too far down in the hierarchy or come across as added on rather than fully integrated. The system architecture also has some major limitations for a solo practitioner with multiple income streams, partly because notes and payments are connected to the schedule timeline. Auto-spell also overrides many abbreviations that are commonly accepted in mental health care. As for the app, it includes most of the features you need but it's pretty easy to lose your place when navigating the schedule timeline since the current date isn't clearly marked relative to where you are.

“Layout is easy to understand”
Pros
Having the calendar, billing, credit card details and plenty of other tools all in one place is really convenient and the setup is laid out in a way that's simple to navigate.
Cons
ACH billing still isn't available although I'm hoping that gets added in a future update to the platform.

“Reasonably priced software”
Pros
Starting my own practice came with a long list of things to manage so I expected I'd need to test several software options before landing on one that worked and maybe even settle based on budget. It was the first platform I used and I never felt the need to keep looking. It was genuinely simple to learn on my own and when a few specific questions came up, customer support was very helpful. The pricing also feels very fair for the amount of functionality included.
Cons
At the moment there are still a few missing features that would be especially helpful when working with clients under 18. That said, the customer service rep I spoke with mentioned that new updates are expected soon and should address some of those concerns.

“Flexible learning”
Pros
Getting comfortable with the software doesn't take much effort because you can test things out, delete them and start fresh whenever needed which makes the learning process really helpful. The mobile app has also been very simple to use so I can finish my session notes quickly from wherever I am.
Cons
when you change something related to a client's billing from a session on the calendar, it only affects future sessions and doesn't carry back to any past ones.

“Convenient for scheduling clients”
Pros
After more than a year of using it in an agency setting, scheduling clients still feels really convenient. The client portal has been especially helpful and the automatic text reminders are something I've appreciated a lot as well.
Cons
Once I left the agency and opened my own practice, the platform ended up being a bit more involved than I originally expected. That said, it still hasn't been a bad experience at all, I'm just learning the features I never had to use before. One thing I really wish it offered is the ability to use two separate accounts for payments. My business partner and I are the only two people in the office and it would be much more practical to share the same software but we don't because there's no way to keep the funds separate.
