“Supports billing tasks”

Pros

Getting everything set up and running in it has been very simple. It's user-friendly, lets me build my own forms while still offering templates to use as a starting point and scheduling appointments is very simple. It also does a really good job supporting billing tasks and creating superbills.

Cons

I honestly don't have any real complaints. As a small private practitioner, it covers everything I need.

“No more handwritten notes”

Pros

Switching away from handwritten notes has been a huge improvement. Having all my information stored in one place makes everything much more organized and the calendar and reminder features help me stay on top of my schedule.

Cons

I'm still getting familiar with the platform and figuring out how to navigate everything.

“written guides and video tutorials”

Pros

Having access to both written guides and video tutorials was really helpful. I also appreciate that the platform includes both standard documents and ones that can be customized.

Cons

I'd like to see the ability to customize the Wiley Treatment Planner.

“Keeps things simple”

Pros

Coming from a much larger electronic health record system at my previous job, I really appreciate how it keeps things simple without piling on unnecessary features. The interface has clean, simple graphics, scheduling clients is very manageable and the staff has been friendly whenever I've interacted with them. There's also plenty of support available anytime I have a question and the tutorials have been helpful overall.

Cons

A few of the tutorials feel repetitive and cover the same processes more than once.

“Checked all the boxes for me”

Pros

After searching for an EHR that could bring everything together, this one checked all the boxes for me. It keeps documentation, client forms and consents, intake assessments, payments and billing all in one place which is exactly what I needed.

Cons

I wish it had a more thorough tutorial that I'd be automatically enrolled in. It would have been really helpful to see not just how to set everything up for my own workflow but also how the system looks and works from the client side.

“impressive templates”

Pros

Being new to this software, I've already been really impressed with the templates. There's actually a lot to appreciate here. Adding clients and getting them scheduled for appointments is very simple. I also appreciate being able to email intake paperwork directly to clients. The client portal is especially useful for the population I work with and online booking is a big plus. On top of that, I absolutely love that there's a mobile app.

Cons

This wasn't a deciding factor for me since the pricing is still reasonable but when I compared it with other similar EHR systems, it was the most expensive option.

“Billing, scheduling and insurance”

Pros

Having billing, scheduling and insurance all built into it has been really helpful. It's nice to have so much integrated in one place.

Cons

The one thing that's frustrating is that the system only allows one email per person. When I'm working with more than one member of the same family, it becomes inconvenient because they have to use separate email addresses for each individual.

“Completely paperless”

Pros

Everything being paperless and user-friendly is a huge plus.

Cons

Customer support wasn't my favorite part, especially as a new user getting started with the software. I would have preferred more direct access to a live person instead of having to rely so much on videos.

“handles my billing needs”

Pros

Between the platform and the support team, I finally got past my billing worries. It really helped me tackle something that had felt intimidating for a while and honestly, I only wish I had started using it sooner.

Cons

Something that caught me off guard at first was how many support emails came through. It felt a bit overwhelming in the beginning although most of them ended up being useful once I had time to go through them.

“Offers helpful features”

Pros

Starting a new private practice felt easy once I saw how many helpful features it offers. Whenever I've run into questions or issues, customer service has taken the time to talk everything through in detail and they've always been friendly and supportive. It has genuinely made launching my practice feel much simpler.

Cons

I honestly haven't found anything I'd call a downside with this EHR.

“Clients appreciate this tool”

Pros

After a little over a month using it, I've been really happy with it. Being able to build note and intake templates and customize them however I need has been a big plus. It's also very convenient to have clients complete or update paperwork like ROIs without much effort. The calendar has been really helpful overall and my clients especially appreciate being able to schedule or reschedule their appointments online.

Cons

The biggest frustration for me is still the calendar. When I'm entering my availability, it doesn't display what's already on my schedule. It would be much more helpful if I could also see meetings that require travel time or other appointments while setting that availability.

“Most comprehensive option”

Pros

After trying several private practice platforms through their free trials, it felt like the most complete and user-friendly option. The customizable templates and the scheduling features especially stood out and felt better put together than what I saw in other systems.

Cons

I wish all of the paperwork like informed consent and intake forms, lived in the same tab or page. It took me quite a while to track down the informed consent form so I could edit and customize it.

“Free of cost Wiley treatment planner”

Pros

Being able to customize and use my own forms, whether for intake or progress notes, is a big plus. I also appreciate having the Wiley treatment planner included at no extra cost and the fact that reminder messages are free. The Client Portal works really well for sending documents and handling communication and the client messaging feature is very useful. It should also save me a lot of time with new clients since it automatically sends out intake paperwork, consent forms and similar documents.

Cons

The lack of live customer support or chat is frustrating. Once everything is set up, I probably will not need much help but right now I am stuck waiting for an answer to a very important question, specifically how to upload my completed switch template after deleting the Johnny Appleseed client before realizing how essential that profile was for getting started. On some forms, I also have to type information manually when a drop-down option would make more sense. The calendar feels a little too basic as well and compared with Therapy Notes, scheduling an appointment in it seems a bit more complex although some of that could be from still learning the system. I also wish there were a way to save a new form in progress and come back later to edit it. Another downside is that I cannot use Square instead of Stripe for card payments which would be less expensive. And while there is a question-and-answer support system, it seems like my specific questions are rarely covered which adds to the frustration.

“Secure patient portal”

Pros

Getting started with this software is pretty simple because it comes with plenty of templates to work from. The secure patient portal is also very useful for sharing documents and the built-in credit card payment option makes billing much more convenient since there's no need to deal with payments in the office.

Cons

Client profile doesn't allow enough room for medical details and other important information, especially for Medicaid clients. Another frustration is that documents in the client chart and notes don't connect well with each other. For example, a signed treatment plan has to be uploaded manually and then added electronically into the notes before it can be accessed there. It would also help to have an option for electronic signatures on treatment plans and more than one ROI option available to send to clients. Overall, documentation outside of progress notes feels limited and there aren't many options to format or edit documents through the client portal.

“easy to navigate between sections”

Pros

navigating between clients and different sections feels very simple. The software is quite user-friendly overall and I especially love that the Wiley treatment planners are built right in which makes treatment planning fast and convenient.

Cons

A small frustration comes up sometimes when I'm creating an appointment. There are two side scroll bars when the appointment window is open and if I click the wrong one, the window can close before I'm finished which means losing the information and having to start again. It's a minor issue and I'm sure it'll happen less as I get more used to the system.
