“Amazing auto-invoice feature”
Pros
The auto-invoice and auto-pay features have been a huge help because they cut down the amount of work I have to handle for myself and my employees. It also has a sleek, clean look which I really appreciate. The billing and insurance tools are excellent compared with other software I've used, especially ones that don't seem connected to any portals at all. It also gives a clear overall view of a client's insurance which is very useful.
Cons
I'd change the scheduling colors. Right now, everyone's schedule shows up in the same color and I'd prefer to assign a different color to each staff member so it's easier to view the day and keep track of what's going on.

“Efficient to use”
Pros
Having several services available in one place makes the platform very efficient to use.
Cons
There are a lot of features so it can take some time to learn everything. The answers to my questions are usually in the support portal but sometimes they are not very visible when I search for them.

“cuts down on paperwork”
Pros
It feels very user-friendly. I was able to learn most of it on my own without needing webinars or reaching out to customer support. The client portal has also been really useful since it cuts down on paperwork during sessions and saves a lot of time.
Cons
An issue I've run into is accessing forms that were sent through the client portal when a client hasn't completed them before the session. I'd like the option to open those forms during the appointment, fill them out together and still have them saved in the client's chart.

“I enjoy using it”
Pros
The group practice I work with uses it and after opening another practice, I ended up getting it there too because I enjoy using it that much. It's incredibly simple and the Telehealth feature is excellent.
Cons
The only trouble I ran into was that the onboarding documents section was a bit hard to locate.

“everything integrated in one place”
Pros
After using our current system, this one feels strong enough that I'm considering switching platforms altogether. I plan to test it out for a few months and, if it continues to deliver, possibly help move other clinicians over to SimplePractice as well. Having everything integrated in one place is a huge plus because clinicians can access everything they need without jumping between tools. Billing is more simple and treatment planning is only a click away. Really well done!
Cons
Compared with some other platforms, it's less cost-effective for interns and newer clinicians who have fewer clinical hours.

“Excellent for launching a practice”
Pros
Getting my private practice off the ground has been so much better with it. Being able to send appointment reminder emails, invoices and superbills, while also tracking appointments and keeping my notes in one place, has been incredibly helpful.
Cons
I really don't have any complaints about the software. A few functions like the billing tools, took a little time to learn but the free customer service video chat made that process very helpful.

“Helpful start for private practice”
Pros
When I was trying to figure out how to set up my private practice, it made it simple to sign up and get started using the platform right away.
Cons
there wasn't much guidance and moving through the different pages felt pretty confusing.

“Staff always assists me”
Pros
Having everything my clients need in one system has been a huge plus, scheduling, customizable notes, billing and electronic document sharing are all in the same place. The customer support team is also quick to respond, friendly and genuinely helpful whenever I need assistance.
Cons
There are moments when the platform doesn't feel very user-friendly and I end up spending extra time trying to track down the document I need. I also made a mistake with billing the first time around but the support team helped me sort it out.

“Promising client-friendly platform”
Pros
It gives us several features that fit what we're looking for. Client comfort and usability are top priorities for our organization and from what we've seen as new users, the platform seems like it will be very user-friendly for the people we serve. That part is especially encouraging and makes us excited about moving forward with it.
Cons
Getting everything set up and fully operational has been slower than expected and some parts of the process feel vague or confusing. For instance, we still haven't figured out how to use the video conferencing feature and even after spending about 15 minutes trying to locate it, it's still unclear where to access it or how it works. At times, it comes across as a well-designed system but one that doesn't give enough clear guidance on how to make the most of all its features.

“plenty of helpful resources”
Pros
This has been a learning process for me and I've been really pleased with how user-friendly the platform is. It feels user-friendly, simple to navigate and there's plenty of support and helpful resources available whenever little issues come up.
Cons
At the moment, there isn't a way for multiple clients to use the client portal under one email address which created a challenge when I was trying to set up two children from the same family. It did let me know they're working on a fix for that. I'd also prefer to have certain links like forms, available from the left-hand menu instead of only being accessible through the settings area.

“huge template library”
Pros
Having the template library available has been really helpful and the calendar layout is simple to navigate. Sending emails to clients is simple and I also appreciate that billing is built right into the system. It's really convenient having everything together in one place.
Cons
As useful as the template library is, editing documents is incredibly frustrating once you upload your own forms or try to modify the existing ones. I've ended up having to use the arrow keys and enter text one letter at a time and it took hours just to get a single form uploaded. If that issue gets fixed, I think the software will be excellent and much more user-friendly.

“Clear information pages”
Pros
Found it user friendly and the help and information pages have been really useful and clear.
Cons
At times it doesn't feel especially user-friendly though that may just be because I'm still new to the platform. It seems like once I get everything set up and running properly, it should become much easier to use.

“Responsive support team”
Pros
Compared with the EHR I used before, it was much more cost effective which was a big plus. After logging in and spending a little time finding my way around, the system felt simple to navigate. Anytime I ran into something I didn't understand or needed clarified, I could reach out to the support team and they responded quickly. That responsiveness was reassuring and made me feel more comfortable using the platform.
Cons
The part I liked least was transferring data from my previous EHR. I ended up having to send the intake paperwork manually and that process was tedious.

“Standout customer service”
Pros
Right away, the customer service has been a standout. Every question I've had has been answered and I've really felt supported throughout the process. Moving from pen-and-paper record keeping has also been very simple which has made the switch much less stressful. I'm also excited to start building my own forms and templates next.
Cons
There really isn't anything I dislike about the software. I've only recently moved over from the free trial and my counseling practice isn't fully up and running yet so most of my experience has been limited to the initial setup stage.

“Everything is online”
Pros
Running a private practice, one of the biggest benefits for me is that everything is online so I can get to my notes from anywhere. It also helps a lot having all of my client files kept in one place and the templates are very simple to customize to fit what I need.
Cons
The insurance forms can be a bit harder to locate than they should be. I've had to search Google to figure out how to handle certain tasks like completing a CMS1500 form. That said, it does help that it has a lot of answered questions online so I can usually find guidance there.
