“Outstanding customer care”

Pros

Having everything I need in one place has been a huge plus. Scheduling, billing and the rest are all just a few clicks away which makes day-to-day work much more convenient. Customer service has also been outstanding, easily some of the best support I've dealt with. Whenever I've run into an issue, I've never had to wait more than a few hours to hear back.

Cons

I don't have any real complaints. There are a few small areas that could use minor updates but their team is always open to feedback and actively looking for ways to improve the platform for everyone.

“Works well”

Pros

It is a central hub for everything. Once you get familiar with the client portal, it works really well and billing is incredibly simple. It does a lot to keep me organized.

Cons

I do wish it were built a bit more with speech therapists in mind, especially when it comes to report formatting. At the moment, you can add tables but reports still can't be arranged into clean, well-organized sections. I'd also like the option to accept in-office credit card payments through their Stripe processor.

“more time for patients”

Pros

Switching to it has saved me a huge amount of time. Before this, I was juggling an EHR, a detailed Google Calendar setup, Jotform and Wave for invoicing and accounting. Now I mostly run everything through SimplePractice and leave the accounting to my accountant. That change has freed me up to focus more on my patients and on growing the practice. I honestly didn't realize how much time was getting drained by unnecessary busywork until I moved over. Another big plus is that if we decide to start accepting insurance or offering telehealth, the software already has options in place to make that possible.

Cons

The price is high although it's not really more expensive than similar platforms and it still doesn't include every feature I'd want. One thing I'd really like is the ability for patients to upload documents through the portal such as psychoeducational testing or IEP paperwork. I spent a lot of time comparing different systems before choosing one. It definitely has a few limitations but overall it's still the strongest option I found.

“Centralized and secure workflow”

Pros

Having billing, forms, notes and everything else kept together in one secure, centralized place has been really valuable.

Cons

Its frustrating how confusing the billing side feels so far and at times it seems packed with too many features that just get in the way. There's also no option for a "family session," only individual or couple sessions.

“Solid for solo clinicians”

Pros

Being able to keep track of client sessions, treatment notes, payments and similar tasks in one place is a big plus. It works really well for an individual clinician but it falls short badly when it comes to group practices.

Cons

There are quite a few issues. To start, the support team is hard to reach when help is needed. The software just is not powerful enough for a group practice and the cost becomes very high for a larger organization. I would really like to see some kind of discount for bigger companies. I run two group practices and the system allows double bookings which is a serious problem because a therapy practice cannot function with overlapping appointments. We have to manually check room usage every week just to catch those scheduling conflicts. Another frustration is that we cannot customize the client-facing view. Instead of only showing our office location, it displays all of our different rooms. It would be much better if we could control what clients see on the front end. On top of that, it does not integrate data with QuickBooks so we end up spending hours every week entering information manually.

“Comprehensive tools and smooth syncing”

Pros

Right away, the platform feels comprehensive and efficient. It really organizes the entire workflow and I especially appreciate how well it syncs with my Google Calendar and website.

Cons

A few of the settings aren't as user-friendly as they could be. It would also be helpful to have variable pricing options based on the size of the practice.

“Recommended for anyone who wants to save time”

Pros

Using it has been really simple. I'm able to customize the forms exactly how I need them and the template customization feature is very user-friendly. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to save time with scheduling, note-taking and getting paid quickly.

Cons

It does cost a little more than some other EHR platforms. Still because it's so simple to use, I feel it's worth the price.

“Helpful for notes and accounting”

Pros

The setup is uncomplicated and entering the information I needed didn't take much effort. It also seems to handle accounting well and managing notes has been working out nicely too.

Cons

I do wish the bills and invoices it generates offered more customization options.

“Easy to handle overall”

Pros

Getting around the software has been very simple and the platform feels quite user friendly overall.

Cons

I still haven't fully figured out the insurance billing side although I can't really tell whether that's due to the software itself or just me still learning it.

“thorough psychosocial section”

Pros

The psychosocial section feels thorough and really well written which I appreciate a lot. There are also plenty of options available when it comes to writing progress notes.

Cons

Getting around the schedule and linking over to progress notes from there can be a little confusing. It takes some effort to figure out where everything is.

“Lets me handle client notes, billing, scheduling”

Pros

Having everything together in one place has been really helpful. The platform is fairly simple and I can handle client notes, billing, scheduling and the rest without needing to jump between different systems.

Cons

A few parts are not completely user-friendly so I'm still learning how some things work. It also took some effort to figure out how to send the initial intake paperwork along with a client scheduling email.

“Valuable HIPAA-compliant scheduling tools”

Pros

The HIPAA-compliant scheduling tools and client portal have been really valuable. I've also appreciated the support I received through Zoom teleconferences with the support team.

Cons

set up process has been fairly complicated. There are times when it's hard to figure out how to return to sending information or check whether a client has replied. Bringing an entirely new system into the workflow has definitely been a challenge.

“True to it's name”

Pros

The name really suits it. This is the best EMR platform I've worked with and once I got used to how everything functions, I felt much more organized and had real peace of mind.

Cons

Honestly, I can't think of anything I dislike about this software at this point.

“Secure records”

Pros

Being able to book appointments and have everything sync with my calendar is really useful. The reminders are also a big help. I can enter my notes for client sessions, along with insurance details and demographics and it's reassuring to keep client information stored in a HIPAA-compliant system.

Cons

I'm on the Essential plan and it's frustrating that it doesn't let me customize reminders or offer online booking for clients. That's disappointing, especially since another free service I use does allow online booking. Some extra features like customizable SMS and email reminders and Telehealth would be nice to have in one platform but as a small business owner, paying extra for them just isn't cost-effective when I can get those tools elsewhere for free. The downside is that I end up juggling multiple platforms. The built-in reminder messages are decent but they only let me send them 24, 36, 48 or 72 hours ahead. I prefer having more control like sending one the day before and another two hours before the appointment so I use a separate service for that.

“Incredibly efficient program”

Pros

Switching from a paper-and-pen practice, this program feels incredibly efficient. I'm genuinely excited to move ahead with such a organized organized system for keeping records and handling payments.

Cons

“Best program for submitting insurance claims”

Pros

Out of all the programs I've used for submitting insurance claims, it has been the best. It feels very secure and is fully HIPAA compliant which is really important to me.

Cons

Scheduling has been a frustrating part of the experience for several of my clients. It seems to be especially difficult for clients who aren't very comfortable with technology.
