“They value customers”
Pros
They reached out right at the scheduled time to walk me through the product and ask about what my practice actually needed. The representative really paid attention instead of pushing a sales pitch which I appreciated. Their pricing works well for smaller practices and having a dedicated mentor is a big plus. They guide you step by step through the setup, adding patients and entering claims. On top of that, they handle the insurance paperwork needed so billing can be submitted through their clearinghouse.
Cons
There isn't a lower-cost option for practices that only send out around 10 to 12 claims each month.

“Offers lot of useful educational material”
Pros
Using it has been pretty simple. There's a lot of useful educational material available and whenever I've called support, the reps have been knowledgeable and genuinely interested in helping resolve the issue.
Cons
I'd really like the ability to scroll through daily payment dates on the calendar instead of having to type in the dates each time. I know there's a daily report but sometimes I just want to move through the days quickly to confirm that all payments were posted. That would be a very helpful feature for my workflow. Support is usually very knowledgeable and willing to assist but I did run into a problem when I was trying to enroll in ERAs. It wasn't clearly explained to me that there was a deadline and my case was closed before I had a chance to fax the forms. Since I work in a different office, getting the doctor's signature right away isn't always possible and we were also in the middle of integration at that time so an extension would have made a big difference. The integration with P. Fusion could also be better. Other systems that PFusion works with don't seem to require such exact character matching and that has made things harder for our office. It's still fairly new so I'm hoping that improves over time. Another frustration comes up when a payment needs to be deleted or adjusted before the insurance EOB arrives. If I need to make a change or move part of the payment to a different date of service, it's not simple to remove the payment once it has already been applied to a visit unless all the claims data is deleted too. That's been disappointing. A rep did show me a workaround by copying the messages and reposting them into notes but that becomes pretty complex when there are a lot of transactions. Even with those issues, I really do love it overall.

“Enjoyable to use”
Pros
After spending more than 15 years stuck with an outdated Allscripts system, switching to Tebra has been a huge relief. Their billing was one of my biggest concerns because Allscripts felt incredibly shady but Corey from Kareo made it clear that the monthly invoice would be simple and easy to understand and that has absolutely been the case. The system itself offers a lot of tools and different ways to organize workflows for each provider which has made it genuinely enjoyable to use. On top of that, their payer enrollment team has been fantastic.
Cons
Would like to see more flexibility when it comes to customizing reports, beyond what I've been able to figure out in the software so far.

“Amazing EMR integration”
Pros
The EMR integration has been fantastic and their team has worked closely with us to get the system implemented successfully in our practice.
Cons
A few extra tracking forms are still missing and having those available would be really helpful for business analytics and reporting.

“Saved us a lot of money”
Pros
It's very user-friendly and simple to work with. Switching from our previous company was definitely the right move and we've been really happy with how much money it has saved us.
Cons
The reminder phone calls can be a little misleading and it often takes quite a while to reach the customer support team. The billing team though, has been excellent, definitely two thumbs up.

“Makes a huge difference”
Pros
It has been excellent across the board, especially when it comes to support. Moving between screens feels very simple and each option includes the level of detail I need. Their support team has been outstanding too, from the helpful information on the website to the direct contact us assistance. Whenever something comes up, it gets handled quickly and that makes a big difference for a small business like mine.
Cons
It may sound minor but there's no extended grace period for payments. Since I'm running a small business on a very tight budget right now, the payment still comes out even when the funds aren't quite there. I understand that's the way they manage that part of the service but having even a one- or two-day extension would really help.

“Easy to contact support”
Pros
Getting in touch with the team is impressively simple which has been a real plus.
Cons
Having to scan all the superbills and then go back the following week to verify that none were missed is frustrating. I should be able to rely on the team to handle that without needing to double-check.

“Smart and engaging tool”
Pros
Everything about it feels smart, interactive and simple to use. It brings patient registration, marketing, medical charting and billing together in one fully integrated system which makes daily work much more convenient. Setup was simple, there's no maintenance to worry about and the pricing feels very reasonable for what's included.
Cons
There really hasn't been much to complain about. Over the past couple of months, I haven't run into any active issues worth mentioning.

“Visually appealing interface”
Pros
The support team was really good and very patient with me which I appreciated a lot. The interface also feels user-friendly and simple to work with.
Cons
Since we run a very small office, the software feels a little more complex than what we really need. That said, I can see how its powerful features would be a strong fit for other practices.

“Gentle learning curve”
Pros
The pricing works really well for practices of any size, including medical billing services and the system is quick to learn which makes it possible to start submitting most claims almost right away. The analytics are also very valuable for sharing insights with providers and administrative staff.
Cons
The user-friendliness, the short learning curve and the affordable cost stand out as positives.

“Not suitable for mental health practice”
Pros
It's fairly simple to use but it doesn't work well for psychology, counseling or mental health since it's built more around a medical model. I'm also not sure how effective it would be if it were adjusted to fit the specific needs of our agency.
Cons
Creating forms is confusing and I have no idea how that process is supposed to work. Those forms really should have already been uploaded.

“unable to download clinical information”
Pros
The clinical record has very detailed drop-downs that make it quick to skim through and click positive signs and symptoms. It would be even better with more (-) boxes for pertinent negatives. The interaction checks and medication details are especially strong and really stand out.
Cons
We ran into daily issues, especially with eRx. Those problems took up a lot of patient time and slowed charting and billing down to a crawl. The real deal breaker though, is not having any way to periodically download clinical information for off-site storage in case of an electrical outage or a ransomware disaster.

“Beginner-friendly EHR”
Pros
Getting started with it was surprisingly simple. I had zero training and was still able to jump in and use it from day one without much trouble. The navigation makes sense, the categories use terms that are familiar in my field and the whole system connects well from one step to the next. Being able to copy notes and then update them is a big help, especially when working with groups. The templates are also useful because they give me a solid starting point for entering note information. Another thing I appreciate is that the note sections do not force minimum entries and the system holds a lot of content without running into character limits.
Cons
if I start a note and decide not to finish it, canceling it is not very convenient unless I switch the note type. That leads to another issue, when I change the note type, there is no option to carry over the information I already entered into the new form. I would also prefer the ability to remove sections from notes when a certain category does not apply.

“Easy to learn”
Pros
It was quite simple to understand and the customer service has been top-notch.
Cons
There have been a few glitches here and there but they've always been resolved quickly. I also don't like that there isn't a way to search for patients by birth date.

“Pleased with the service”
Pros
Starting at our practice with zero healthcare background, I was immediately handed a huge job, let go of our third-party billing company and move everything back in-house with this tool. I didn't know billing, patient demographics, insurance, payment posting or any of the day-to-day pieces. Even with that steep learning curve, within the first week after launch we had the fundamentals in place and successfully moved our single-provider practice onto Kareo without major disruption. Payments started coming in during the first 30 days which was a big win. We also use a connected EHR and that has made claims much simpler because our physician enters the DX codes during the clinical note process and everything flows directly into billing. We've gotten so efficient with it that claims from the previous day are typically submitted by 10 AM the next morning. I'm really happy with the system and the support team behind it.
Cons
when certain payers make unexpected changes to their EID, those updates do not always get tested and reflected in it quickly enough. Usually we only realize something is wrong when payment posting starts getting messy and then it turns out the payer changed something in the technical data interchange. After that, we find out the change was not yet system-tested in it. At that point there can be a little back-and-forth over where the responsibility falls for the interchange problem. To be fair, once the issue is identified, they do work on correcting it but it can take a while before everything is resolved.

“Condescending support staff”
Pros
Honestly the advertising is about the only thing that works here, not the actual substance behind the product.
Cons
Dealing with the post-sale technical support has been incredibly frustrating because their attitude comes across as obnoxious, condescending and know-it-all. When we submit support tickets, they mostly ignore the plain-English questions we're asking and just send us back to their online videos and help articles which are completely unrelated to the issue we're trying to solve.

“Fast reporting and simple workflow”
Pros
The system is very user-friendly and the reports help speed everything up without adding extra steps.
Cons
I'd still like to see built-in guidance while using the system such as tips or an FAQ available directly inside it.

“Ability to customize branding”
Pros
Right away the front end feels very user-friendly and having a responsive support line available is a huge plus. I also appreciate being able to customize the branding when needed. The reporting options are extensive and the API access makes it possible to pull raw data into an external database so you can tailor reports exactly the way you want. Another major benefit is that the system is hosted for you so there's no need to maintain your own IT staff and unlimited users without added fees makes the value even better.
Cons
To be fair no billing platform is ever completely flawless. If you spend enough time with any of them, you'll find areas that could work better. With that in mind, a few features still need some refinement in how they connect and function together. They present really well at first glance but behind the scenes some parts can still feel a little rough. Still, it seems like they're heading in the right direction and will likely improve those areas soon.

“Knowledgeable support around the clock”
Pros
Excellent product overall and the support team is consistently knowledgeable and available nearly around the clock whenever help is needed.
Cons
Claims follow-up setup is a drawback. You can enter a follow-up date but there's no alert when that date arrives so you still have to rely on a spreadsheet to keep track of reminders.
