custom fields fit our needs!

Pros

The custom student information fields have been really valuable for us! We need the system to handle nine additional data fields for each student for a First Nation in Canada and this feature supports that requirement well.

Cons

A frustrating limitation is with homeroom scheduling. You can schedule a group of students into a homeroom but currently you can't unschedule that group all at once. They have to be removed individually which turns the task into far more work than it should be, probably around 20 times more. This may get fixed in the next few months. On the other hand if homerooms are assigned carefully from the start there may never be a need to unschedule them later.

useful features but limited support

Pros

Interface is simple to work with and covers the core areas you'd expect including user management, record creation, scheduling, registration, grading and status tracking. It's also flexible to modify, being open source and it's fairly easy to manage and learn. The student and faculty profiles and interfaces are another plus.

Cons

Support is fairly limited and it doesn't come with application management included. There also aren't many available resources from people familiar with the system which can make troubleshooting harder. On top of that it lacks built in rules and configurations so making changes usually means putting your own in house resources into it.

student progress tracking done right

Pros

Keeping up with all of my students is much more manageable with this software. It gives me a clear way to track their progress and overall performance which helps me support their academic success more effectively.

Cons

One thing that could be better is the number of updates released each year. More frequent updates would make the program even more helpful especially when it comes to resolving bugs faster.
