EROAD Use Cases
Based on our analysis of EROAD’s features and product positioning, we have identified key scenarios where the platform is commonly used by transportation, logistics, construction, and field service organizations for fleet visibility, asset tracking, compliance management, and operational efficiency:
1. Transportation And Logistics Organizations Providing Real-Time Delivery Updates To Customers
Transportation and logistics organizations often receive frequent customer inquiries about shipment locations and estimated arrival times. Without accurate visibility into vehicle movements, staff may rely on phone calls to drivers or estimated schedules, leading to delays in communication and reduced customer confidence. EROAD addresses this challenge by providing real-time vehicle tracking and centralized fleet visibility, enabling dispatchers and operations teams to quickly identify vehicle locations and provide accurate delivery updates to customers. This improves customer service, reduces time spent coordinating with drivers, and helps organizations maintain greater transparency throughout the delivery process.
2. Organizations Streamlining Fleet Activity Monitoring Across Operations
EROAD helps organizations streamline fleet activity monitoring by providing a centralized view of vehicle locations, driver behavior, and operational performance across the fleet. Businesses that previously relied on manual processes or multiple systems to track fleet activity can use the platform to access real-time information and actionable insights from a single interface. This improves operational visibility, supports faster decision-making, and helps managers identify trends and inefficiencies that may impact productivity, safety, and overall fleet performance.
3. Food And Beverage Distribution Companies Improving Delivery Transparency And Customer Service
The platform is suitable for food and beverage distribution companies that need to provide customers with accurate delivery updates while managing large fleets across multiple routes. Without real-time visibility into vehicle locations, customer service teams may struggle to answer delivery-related inquiries and provide reliable arrival estimates. EROAD addresses this challenge through live vehicle tracking and fleet visibility tools that enable teams to monitor deliveries in real time and communicate accurate ETAs to customers. This helps improve customer service, reduce uncertainty around deliveries, and strengthen customer relationships through greater transparency.
4. Waste Management Companies Reducing Fleet Costs And Improving Visibility
Waste management companies often operate large vehicle fleets that require constant oversight to control expenses and maintain service quality. Limited visibility into vehicle activity, routing patterns, and driver behavior can lead to unnecessary fuel usage, increased administrative work, and higher fleet costs. EROAD helps organizations monitor vehicle locations, track fleet activity, and access detailed performance data through a centralized platform, enabling managers to identify areas for improvement, reduce manual workloads, lower expenses, and make more informed decisions about fleet management.

Automated Reporting
The platform automatically collects trip data, mileage, and state line crossings. This helps businesses manage IFTA and IRP reporting without manual calculations. It reduces errors and saves time for fleet managers handling large operations.
Dashcam Integration
EROAD supports dual-facing dashcams that provide real-time video monitoring. These cameras help in reviewing incidents, improving driver accountability, and reducing risk on the road. Video evidence also supports faster claim resolution when needed.
Regulatory Compliance Management
EROAD includes tools that help fleets stay aligned with tax rules and transport regulations. It simplifies compliance reporting and reduces the workload of manual documentation. This is especially useful for large or multi-region fleets.
Maintenance Management
This feature helps schedule regular vehicle servicing and tracks maintenance history. It also sends alerts for engine faults or system issues using IoT data. This reduces unexpected breakdowns and keeps vehicles in better condition for longer periods.
Driver Behavior Monitoring
The system tracks driving habits such as speeding, harsh braking, sudden acceleration, and idle time. This helps fleet managers identify risky behavior and guide drivers toward safer practices. Over time, it improves road safety and reduces vehicle wear.
Geofencing Triggered Alerts
This feature allows users to set virtual boundaries around specific locations such as job sites, warehouses, or restricted areas. When a vehicle enters or exits these zones, the system sends instant alerts. It helps improve security and ensures better route discipline.
Fuel Usage Tracking Report
EROAD features ‘Fuel Usage Tracking Report’ that helps monitor fuel consumption patterns across the fleet. It highlights inefficiencies such as excessive idling or fuel wastage. This allows businesses to control fuel costs and improve overall operational efficiency.

It didn't provide the full range of safety and maintenance tools that other platforms offered which is why we eventually moved to a different solution.

“route tracking done right”
Pros
EROAD gave us a reliable way to stay on top of driver Hours of Service while also keeping tabs on vehicle locations for tracking and route planning.
Cons
At the time it didn't offer as many additional features and considering the price we were paying, we ended up moving to another provider.

“Communication is a huge issue”
Pros
It is easy to sign up for, install and train our drivers on. Also it is permanently mounted to the dash but is small enough that it does not get in the way.
Cons
Communication with Eroad is absolutely terrible. Like any business, we have management changes, so I have had to reach out to them multiple times. I left tons of voicemails, sent countless emails but got nothing back. We added new trucks and needed more units but months passed with zero response. After trying repeatedly, I finally reached someone who gave me the contact for the Director of Indirect Sales. He was shocked we even got his number, said he would look into it and later ghosted us. When we decided we'd had enough and wanted to cancel, they refused to let us out of the contract. We even asked where to send the units and offered to just pay out the rest, but they zero respond. We just want to make sure we're not being charged after the contract ends and they won't even answer that. So if you value your time and money, STAY AWAY from this company!
