Good for timekeeping

Pros

I like the timekeeping system as it is designed to comply with California's Meal Premium regulations.

Cons

Candidate tracking and scheduling interviews with hiring managers feels a bit awkward and could be more streamlined. Also messages to employees would be better received if they came from a custom company email address instead of a generic Paycom one as I feel like it would feel more personal and professional.

Offer great direct help

Pros

One thing I like is that I can call my Paycom representative directly whenever I have an issue which is especially helpful when I am processing payroll under time constraints.

Cons

There were a couple of updates that made features I use regularly less efficient like now having to download reimbursement documents one by one instead of in batches.

terrific onboarding process

Pros

They handled our onboarding exceptionally well. The training and support during our first year were terrific as they made us feel truly welcomed.

Cons

It's taken longer than we expected to resolve our attendance point system issues.

simple payroll process but team not always there

Pros

Processing payroll is incredibly simple as it almost feels like the system does it for you. You just need to review and confirm the information.

Cons

Sometimes my service team is not available when I call which can be frustrating when I need immediate help.

reliable team but tool can feel overwhelming

The Paycom team has always been able to assist me. If they don't know an answer immediately, they quickly find a solution. They are consistently helpful and professional. Overall I feel I can rely on it.

It brings all our HR requirements together in one platform. Also it is an excellent resource for handling all our HR projects and daily tasks.

Cons

Sometimes system updates end up changing or reverting data we have already corrected and the support team is not always sure why it happens.

incredibly user-friendly platform

Pros

Fast response time from Paycom really stands out and the interface is incredibly user-friendly. I'm on this platform every single day and it makes my workflow so much smoother.

Cons

The only major issue I've run into happened with payroll submission. When using the quick method, there's a green save button in the center but the actual "mark as complete and submit" option is white, positioned on the right in a dropdown menu. One morning I accidentally hit save instead of submit, then tried starting the payroll process over the long way. This ended up creating a duplicate payroll and sent approval emails to all employees twice. It would be helpful if the submit button was also green and more prominently displayed on the main page.

Supportive and smooth transition

Pros

The whole team really had our backs during the transition. They gave us tons of support and resources, which made everything way smoother and less stressful than previous implementations. They also did a great job helping our staff realize how user-friendly the system actually is once you get into it.

Cons

There's quite a bit of new terminology to learn, though I guess that's pretty standard when you're switching between HRIS platforms.

It just makes sense!

Pros

UI is interactive and makes data entry simple. Everything flows logically, whether I'm inputting information or pulling reports. Both the desktop and mobile versions are well-organized, making it simple for managers and employees to use without any confusion.

Cons

Only downside I've found is that you can't handle drug screening through the background check process. That said, we've really enjoyed making the switch to HireRight!

huge time-saver for payroll

Pros

The payroll process itself is fantastic. It's become so much quicker and gets easier every time. My team loves being able to review and approve their own checks before anything is finalized it really cuts down on errors and a huge shout-out to our implementation team, they were absolutely amazing and made the whole setup smooth.

Cons

The main downside for me, as a solo HR department, is that it's added to my workload in other ways. I end up being the go-to person for every password reset and account lockout which eats up a lot of time. I really wish there was a dedicated support line for employees so I could focus on more strategic work.

user friendly and helpful

Pros

I find the interface really user friendly. The mobile app is fantastic for checking pay stubs and updating my info on the go. Whenever I've reached out for help, customer support has been quick to respond and actually helpful. It's made handling all my work stuff so much simpler and I'd definitely recommend it to others.

Cons

I wish the training materials went deeper into details. Pretty minor complaint though.

simple after you learn it

Pros

Making the switch from my previous company's system was surprisingly smooth. The portal layout is smooth and I can quickly find what I need when I check it each week.

Cons

Getting used to navigating everything takes some time. You really need to dive in and practice with it to figure out how it all works.
