highly functional employee hub

Pros

I am able to track my time either by logging hours manually or using the punch-in feature, plus I can assign funding sources and send everything for supervisor approval. But that's barely scratching the surface, my vacation time, accruals, documents, performance evaluations, pay stubs and tons of other stuff are all right there when I need them.

Cons

The performance review feature seemed to have some calculation issues, though I'm not entirely sure if it was the system or just me figuring things out since this was our first year trying digital reviews.

Worst service and many problems

Pros

I'm relieved we're no longer tied to this platform. The service quality has really tanked over the last year and we went through six different account reps during that period, each transition somehow made the customer support even worse than before.

Cons

Over the past few years, I've noticed some serious internal problems that really hurt their service quality. We've dealt with payroll mistakes, incorrect accruals and what I can only describe as terrible customer support. Our reps actually told us they were quitting because things were falling apart internally that says everything. We went through 6 different account representatives in just one year and each change made things worse. Eventually we decided to switch to something more dependable. When we tried to leave, they promised a termination specialist would contact us but that never happened. They shut off our access before sending the termination checklist, and we missed some important data requirements because of poor communication. Now they're demanding $5000 just to pull one report. I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere for a more reliable solution.

Good for pay and time off

Pros

It's really convenient for checking pay stubs and seeing when my next paycheck is coming. I can request time off right through the system too. Our whole team uses this daily to clock in and it handles all our employee documents and benefits info in one place.

Cons

The navigation is pretty confusing if you haven't watched their tutorial videos first. What really bugs me is having to connect to the company's specific wifi just to clock in - though I guess that might be our company's security setting to prevent people from clocking in remotely. Still, it's a good app for tracking pay and accessing documents.

A compliance lifesaver

Pros

Paycom has been a lifesaver for keeping us compliant in today's challenging HR landscape. The ongoing development and innovation they bring to there platform really gives me confidence when handling our most sensitive employee data.

Cons

We haven't run into any problems or heard complaints about the platform so far.

Lots of helpful tools inside

Pros

I love all the extra learning resources and various services it provides, including payroll tools, timecard management, tracking features and employee monitoring for supervisors.

Cons

I haven't really found much to complain about but there are some things that could be better organized. Some of the tools supervisors need are tucked away in weird spots that don't make much sense, would be nice if they were easier to find.

Makes payroll easy but updates are slow

Pros

Managing payroll has become incredibly simple and it's honestly our top feature by far.

Cons

When we update existing employee info especially department changes, I have to go into multiple sections, page 1, page 3 and User Access Groups. It's a bit tedious having to make the same change in several different places.

Works well when set up right

Pros

It is so simple to use. When you input all the data correctly from the start, everything runs smoothly and gives you accurate results.

Cons

The upgrade process gets pretty annoying sometimes. They really need to offer more live training sessions or actual classes with real instructors.

excellent employee self-service

Pros

The fact that employees can handle their own deposits, vacation requests, tax forms and other stuff themselves is really helpful

Cons

I don't like having to change my password so frequently. Managing both client and employee accounts makes it really tiring to come up with passwords I'll actually remember.

A total transformation from our old system

Pros

Paycom completely transformed our experience after dealing with major headaches from our previous provider. What used to be stressful and problematic is now smooth and worry-free. We're thrilled with the change.

Cons

It can be a bit overwhelming at first when you're getting familiar with all the features and there's definitely a learning curve for new users.

good implementation with incredible support

Pros

Brenden Lewis my Paycom specialist, truly exceeded expectations when we needed it most. After Paylocity completely failed us just days before payroll, Brenden helped us get everything set up in just 3 days which seemed impossible at first. Lauren Jimboy was equally amazing during implementation. Both responded incredibly fast to emails, calls and even texts. The whole experience was smooth and the platform itself is really intuitive to navigate. I'd definitely recommend this to other businesses looking for reliable payroll solutions.

Cons

The timecard section needs some improvement.

Simple tool but sometimes loads slow

Pros

Really simple tool that makes handling payroll and company operations a breeze. The interface is simple and I can go through everything without getting confused.

Cons

The loading times can be pretty slow sometimes which gets frustrating when your trying to get work done quickly.

One hub for all our needs

Pros

Having one central hub for everything has been really helpful for our team. We use this for tracking time, managing expenses, handling training modules, uploading documents, getting new hires set up and organizing benefits all in one place.

Cons

Nothing negative to mention. It would be great to get push notifications on the app though. Also wish I could add more stops when I'm manually entering mileage logs.

Has everything but a bit overwhelming

Pros

It brings together so many essential functions, from core HR and performance management to recruiting tools, learning systems and time tracking, all in one centralized location.

Cons

user friendly but time features need work

Pros

I find both sides very easy to use. When I log in, whether as an employee or manager, I always know exactly where to find what I need. If I ever get stuck, the help feature is simple and easy to use.

Cons

Time entry feels clunky for hourly staff, not as interactive as it should be. The time off calendar is missing a key feature where you can download a report showing everyone's time off requests, which would be really helpful.

Cheap price caused expensive problems

Pros

The pricing is definitely more affordable than other options out there, though you do notice the difference in what you're getting for that lower cost.

Cons

It lacks internal integration which created serious compliance problems with our payroll accuracy. When we discovered these issues, it took months to fix them and we're still dealing with amended tax documents. Management eventually admitted that their platform isn't properly integrated and there support team doesn't get adequate payroll training to help clients effectively.

Good for taxes but poor training

Pros

Helps keep our tax obligations current and ensures we stay compliant with state and IRS requirements.

Cons

Communication dropped off after our main contact left, nobody picked up where he left off with training. Even though I'd used Paycom before, I was completely lost with the new Betti feature and felt abandoned in the process.

Lots of options but sometimes too rigid

Pros

Lots of flexibility with all the different options you can choose from. What they tell you upfront is exactly what you'll get, no surprises there. The implementation team was really solid and helped us get everything set up smoothly. They delivered on every promise the sales rep made during our initial meetings.

Cons

It can be too rigid at times like how pay periods automatically include weekends in calculations even when you dont want them to. While it delivers exactly what the sales team promises, that specificity can sometimes work against you when you need more flexibility.

Great support but location tracking needs work

Pros

The sales rep and service team are incredibly dedicated - whenever I have questions or run into issues, they're right there to help. Having worked with other services in different departments before, nothing really compares to this level of support.

Cons

I wish the geo-fencing for clock-ins was more flexible. Some of our team members work both in and out of the office and tracking their hours accurately for payroll becomes a real trouble.

Easy to use after a rough start

Pros

Biggest advantage is how easy it makes running my business day-to-day. Everything feels smooth and user-friendly, so I don't waste time figuring things out. Customer service has been fantastic and they're really experienced and know what they're doing. Whenever I need help, the support team is excellent at getting me sorted quickly.

Cons

Getting started was pretty rough and I had to wait over 6 months just to get my bank account verified which was frustrating.
