Great for larger companies

Pros

The customer service is fantastic as long as your company is on the larger side. The user experience is amazing and easy to use.

Cons

Lack of integration is a pain. It lets you send data out but you can't pull data in from other systems which limits what we can do.

good reports but lacking help docs

Pros

It is easy to use and the customer service is good. The reports are very good and it's easy to create your own custom report.

Cons

The online help section in it is pretty lacking. It's hard to find what you need and sometimes the info just isn't there. I also miss some features I had in other systems.

scalable and flexible tool

Pros

I like that Paycom's tools are flexible enough to work for smaller companies but can also be scaled up to a huge enterprise level at any time.

Cons

We still run into the occasional tax issue. I wish Paycom's tax team would communicate better and be more transparent especially when setting up new accounts.

simple setup with multiple confusing paths

Pros

Truly I appreciate how simple it is to set up some things like adding new locations and managing positions. Customer Support really does their best to resolve your issues. If I hit a problem I can usually call a rep to open a ticket and it gets fixed pretty fast. Also this is a very forgiving system so if someone makes a mistake a lot of things are correctable which is such a blessing. The IWant AI feature has also made things really easy for both employees and managers so I'm thankful for that addition.

Cons

The layout is good but it could be great if there weren't two or three different ways to get to the same module or section. Having multiple paths sounds helpful but actually confuses our managers and employees. I'd also like better functionality for effective dating and labor allocations.

easy with loved AI app

Pros

It's an easy-to-use platform for both management and staff especially with the new IWant AI feature. Our employees really love the phone app.

Cons

So far I don't have any negative feedback. Any small issues we've had were taken care of quickly.

employee empowerment transformed payroll

Pros

I like how much access our employees have to control all their own information. It's more than just seeing their paycheck they can make changes in real time. The time it takes to do payroll is so minimal now, it's completely changed that part of our world. I also love Paycom's commitment to continuing education and that they actually listen when you suggest improvements, those seem to come much faster than they used to.

Cons

Some parts still feel a bit clunky to me, mainly scheduling and performance. Scheduling seems built for more flexible, shift-based workforces and when it updates, it sometimes breaks things, then we have to dig deep with our specialist to fix it. Performance is very broad even with recent updates, building a review isn't as simple as I'd like. You have to pre-build sections in different screens instead of flowing through it like a document. Once it's set up, it works well for managers and employees but the initial setup is a problem. Also, it still doesn't like certain special characters when pasting text which can be frustrating to troubleshoot.

Awesome analytics tool

Pros

BETI is great. The payroll dashboard has awesome tools to help create a perfect payroll. Payroll Analytics is one of my favorite tools and it's a great way to review, compare and break down totals.

Cons

The performance reviews were hard to use at first. It wasn't that the tool was lacking and we were just trying to make it work exactly like our old manual process. Next year, we plan to adjust our process to fit Performance Management better.

Reliable all-in-one solution

Pros

It delivered great value for our money with their all-in-one, easy-to-use platform that aligned our payroll, HR and timekeeping. Customer support has been quick to respond, professional & proactive. We've had zero bugs, downtime, or problems accessing the system. The communication from them has always been clear and consistent which made getting started and using it every day really smooth.

Cons

We honestly haven't run into any negatives. It has been reliable, easy to use and has done everything we needed.

Automation makes life easier

Pros

Love how automated everything has become. It really makes the life of an HR person easier. I've completely gotten rid of paper benefit enrollment and the automatic feeds to our vendors are a dream. The whole thing is simple and extremely easy to use even employees can easily change their screen language. My Paycom Specialist is top-tier! They get back to me right away or someone else on their team jumps in to help.

Cons

I don't really have anything I dislike about it. There was a time I would have complained about customer service but that's completely changed in the last couple of years, my support is amazing now.

great admin control but employee workflows are fragmented

Pros

I like that I have control over the system and can be pretty independent with it. Of course when I do have questions our dedicated specialist is always there to help.

Cons

On the employee side a lot of my staff don't like how everything is spread out over different pages. For time management, I have to go to one spot to add a comment, then go back to another to add a missing punch and approve the timecard. It would save so much time if it was all in one section. there are a lot of updates and the update videos they provide aren't very helpful. The mileage tracker is a bit too nitpicky. We have auto-tracking on but the app won't track unless it's running in the background. If you have the app fully open, it won't auto-track because it thinks you're about to start a trip manually. Also I should be able to submit all my trips at once but on the manager's side, it should show as just one entry. Right now, if people submit trips individually, managers have to review too many entries but if they merge trips, all the details for each trip get lost.

Consistently great support

Pros

It has great customer support and a really user-friendly design. We never run into bugs and we can always access it even on mobile. We love using the mobile format for things like approving PTO requests.

Cons

Nothing! The team has always been super supportive in answering our questions and handling our training needs.

Reliable with room to grow

Pros

It consistently gets our payroll right and their reporting features are super robust. They've been very helpful for audits and staying compliant.

Cons

mobile app for managers could let us do more of our day-to-day tasks. I'd also like to see more smooth steps for I-9 compliance during onboarding.

An evolving all-in-one system

Pros

I like that it is an all-in-one system. We can use one platform for so many different things: recruiting, onboarding, training, payroll, benefits, time and attendance. Since we joined a few years ago, they've kept making improvements and even offer monthly training on the new stuff. They're really putting in the work to give us a good return on our investment.

Cons

The implementation was tough and a few of the reps didn't seem knowledgeable enough to handle our account effectively.

Amazing UI but complex appraisals functions

Pros

the user interface is amazing and how easy it is to access. A huge shout-out to the Open enrollment benefits specialist! They make that whole process so simple.

Cons

Creating performance appraisals for employees isn't easy. The goals section is confusing and hard to use.

Automated ROI with fantastic support

Pros

It gives our organization a great return on investment. The support is fantastic whenever we need anything. The platform itself is very responsive and easy for our whole team to use. We never have issues they can't resolve quickly. It saves us so much time through automation especially with leave management, checking schedules and accessing pay info.

Cons

There's really nothing we've found in our five years using it that's been an issue for me or my team.

Great value but need more customizations

Pros

I think it is a great value for the money. And even though it's a powerful system it's easy to use once you learn your way around. The customer support is great and our client manager actively works to keep us in the loop on new features and how to use the system effectively.

Cons

I wish the user interface was customizable but it works well for us. I'd also like the MyCom feature to allow for more customization and better notifications when a newsletter is available.

Top-tier proactive service

Pros

The absolute best part about it is their customer service. Our dedicated support specialist answers our questions quickly and knows the product inside and out. We also have regular best practice meetings that are always super helpful. We recently had a project specialist help us align things even more. It's hands-down the best customer service out there.

Cons

Paycom's learning platform isn't the easiest to use. I have a best practice meeting scheduled to hopefully understand it better which is another perk of their great customer service!

Pros

It has a user-friendly interface with lots of self-service options. The price was also very comparable to other software we looked at.

Cons

Customizable app with network glitches

Pros

I appreciate how easy it is to customize things. For example, I can change my homepage in the app to show my clock-in and clock-out page right away.

Cons

When my internet is bad or I'm switching networks the app glitches and I have to close it completely before reopening it.
