“Helps monitor employee's performance and productivity”
Pros
Keeping tabs on employee attendance, hours worked and absences for medical or other reasons is very manageable with this software. It also helps monitor each employee's performance, productivity and progress on completed tasks through the performance management features. Payroll processing is fast and up to this point, we haven't run into any errors.
Cons
There have been times when some employees couldn't log into the system to handle their absences, vacations or absence justifications because the employee and self-service portals were sometimes unavailable. It would also be much better if certain tools could work without an internet connection so my work isn't restricted to times when I have access online.

“Awful support and endless fees”
Pros
The sales experience was the only part that went well. Once the contract was signed, everything went downhill. It's basically a self-service payroll company but they clearly don't have the staff needed to properly support their customers.
Cons
Support is practically nonexistent and they keep bouncing you from one person to another like a ping pong ball. On top of that, the fees are excessive and make the whole experience even worse.

“Quick rollout”
Pros
Getting the software rolled out to employees was fast and simple. It's accurate and responds quickly.
Cons
Every once in a while, it freezes and won't let someone clock in or out on their timecard. Waiting a few minutes and trying again has always fixed it.

“Useless support”
Pros
The demo was really impressive and I believe the system can do everything the salesperson showed. The problem is that no one at Paycor seems willing to help you actually reach that point.
Cons
Beyond payroll, the implementation team is a mess. The so-called specialists are not helpful at all and keep sending you to how-to videos that still don't explain how to get things done. Any time you need one-on-one support, they just point you back to another video or email PDFs. Most of the implementation falls entirely on you so you'd better already know exactly how your company needs to be set up. If you don't, I'd seriously look at another option.

“Brilliant HR management tool”
Pros
It has been doing an amazing job with our payroll and HR management. It's very simple to customize and pulling information in the exact format you need is really convenient.
Cons
Customer service can take a little time to get back to you but once they do, they're incredibly friendly and helpful in working through whatever issue you need to resolve.

“Turned out to be a good choice”
Pros
A franchise partner pointed me toward it and despite a few bumps during implementation, it turned out to be a solid solution.
Cons
Support was a bit of a concern when problems came up, first during implementation and then occasionally afterward.

“Has evolved over time”
Pros
It has evolved over time in ways that have helped it keep up with what we need. The recruiting module stands out the most to me and honestly, I haven't worked with an ATS that performed better than this one.
Cons
There were quite a few service-related challenges during 2020 and 2021. We also ran into some problems with Paycor Time but those have since been resolved and things are in a good place now.

“Quick time tracking and requests”
Pros
Everything feels very simple to use. I'm usually logging my hours in a rush and this platform lets me finish it quickly and get back to work without any hassle. Putting in time-off requests is simple too.
Cons
I didn't care for the lack of tutorials or customer support on the platform. It seemed like it could do a lot more but I wasn't really able to figure out anything beyond tracking my hours and vacation time.

“Uncomplicated system”
Pros
it feels simple and easy to use. I wanted something that wouldn't be confusing but would still do exactly what it's supposed to and this does that well.
Cons
when you've saved a few candidates for later, tracking down a specific one can get a little tricky.

“Allows me to monitor my hours in real time”
Pros
I really appreciate being able to clock in and out whether I'm online or using the web which makes it very convenient. It also lets me monitor my hours in real time, submit PTO requests and even send in missed punches when needed.
Cons
There is a bit of a delay in the system so it took a while to get used to clocking in and waiting to see whether the punch actually went through. Because of that lag, there were a few times when I punched in or out more than once and my manager had to fix it.

“works for a variety of tasks”
Pros
It worked well for a variety of tasks. I mostly relied on it for timesheets and tracking hours at my current company but I also ended up using it for a few other secondary functions.
Cons
it wasn't very clear how to use some of the newer features. That said, it was only a minor issue overall.

“Efficient payroll handling”
Pros
Something that really worked well with it was giving employees access to their own accounts so they could check wages, pay rates and pay stubs whenever needed. It also helped with finding qualified employment and payroll was handled efficiently through direct deposit which made sure employees were paid on time.
Cons
If there's one area that could be better, it would be giving employees more convenient access to their individual accounts and letting them see their full wage history even after their employment has ended.

“amazing self-service portal”
Pros
Getting around this software is pretty simple and the self-service portal is a feature I genuinely appreciate. On the accounting side, the mapping, journal entries and reporting functions all do what they're supposed to and work well.
Cons
My biggest frustration has been with the implementation and support. Even after using it for two years, I still haven't been able to get a journal entry to export correctly. I submitted a request and followed up on it but got no response and no one has taken ownership of resolving it. It feels like the IT support team is understaffed.

“central hub for HR needs”
Pros
Everything HR and payroll needs is in one place and the system is simple to use while still being very effective for handling every task.
Cons
It does take some time to learn how to get the most out of the software and there were moments when the reporting tools didn't show real-time data. Still, it wasn't anything too serious.

“Customizable features”
Pros
It is amazing how little hands-on support it needs from their team. Most tools and features can be customized by the client admin and in most cases everything can be handled through self-service setup. It covers nearly everything we need in one platform and cuts down a lot on the manual paperwork I would otherwise have to deal with.
Cons
When support is actually needed, it is very hard to get. The CSR team seems to rely on the same resources customers already have and they will often submit a ticket or work order that you never hear back about. The phone lines are not as overloaded as they used to be but they are still inefficient. Tickets sent by email usually do not get a response and Paycor is not quick to take responsibility when a mistake happens on their side.
