Logical tab layout

Pros

Accessing paystubs, W-2s and time-off scheduling is quick and the software feels very user friendly overall. The layout of each tab helps point you to exactly what you need without much searching.

Cons

The home screen could be more user-friendly at first but after spending a little time with it, it becomes simple to use.

Simple to put in time-off requests

Pros

Employees can clock in and out without much effort and putting in time-off requests is just as simple.

Cons

From the manager side, having to go in and approve everything is a bit tedious. It would be helpful to have a rule or field where, if an employee goes over 45 hours, the manager gets notified for approval.

Valuable training videos

Pros

Getting payroll done is simple and bringing on new hires is just as uncomplicated. Reports are also fairly manageable to learn without a lot of outside help. The training videos, along with the help and knowledge library, are packed with useful information. On top of that, every person we've interacted with at the company has been friendly, welcoming and willing to help.

Cons

A frustration with Time on Demand is that employees can submit 8 hours of time off across 5 days, when it really should auto-fill the hours based on the number of days selected. The manager view in Time on Demand especially when working with time cards, can also be pretty confusing for someone new because of the collapsible menus and boxed layout.

Navigating it felt very simple and managing the different tabs was really convenient.

Cons

Once I spent a little time exploring it, using it wasn't difficult at all.

Strong reporting tools

Pros

Getting into the system is simple, the reporting tools are really strong and the customer service has been excellent whenever needed.

Cons

Cost could stand to be a bit lower. Other than the price, I don't have any complaints.

Plenty of standard reports available

Pros

Really simple to handle and there are plenty of standard reports that are quick to pull up and access.

Cons

As with any new system, there's a bit of a learning curve at the beginning but once you get familiar with it, it works without any problems.

Superb for managing employee coordination

Pros

It feels very simple and it does a solid job of keeping everyone connected. It works like a really valuable assistant for HR tasks, helping manage employee coordination while also making payroll scheduling and vacation planning much more convenient.

Cons

I'm still unsure whether the issue was with the program itself or just a misunderstanding during a support request but the fast customer service still doesn't feel sufficient when someone needs proper consultation.

organizes our payroll

Pros

It has really organized our payroll and timekeeping process and getting everything set up was fairly simple.

Cons

Every now and then there's a glitch when it's time to clock out but it doesn't happen very often.

Not hard to understand

Pros

Doesn't take much effort to get started with because the platform is simple and easy to understand. It saves me a lot of time when I'm pulling payroll together and checking worked hours. On top of that, it provides a fully automated workflow that makes a real difference, cuts out paperwork and includes modern built-in reporting tools and reports.

Cons

Like any software, it has its share of bugs. A few features could be made more user-friendly and simpler to use especially when moving between this system and other programs. The automation is helpful but there's still room for those capabilities to get better.

All tools under one roof

Pros

It has a very user-friendly layout and it's simple to move around the system. I also appreciate having every tool I need available together on one platform.

Cons

Customer service could definitely be improved. It can also be difficult at times to track overtime and pay differentials accurately because of the way the system is set up and what it's capable of.

Well arranged layout

Pros

Right from the main screens, the basic tasks are pretty simple to understand and handle. PTO is front and center and key account and profile details are also right there where you'd expect them.

Cons

Once you move beyond the basics, navigation gets a bit trickier. Things like benefits, goals and evaluations feel tucked away in some unusual spots. You can eventually find them by clicking around and searching but they're not readily accessible from the main page.

Love its simplicity

Pros

Love how simple it is for employees to use. I can point team members to the online employee portal and they're usually able to find just about everything on their own. From pay stubs to yearly W-2 forms, it's all available in one place. Employees can also add direct deposit accounts and decide how much should go into each one. There's even a built-in option to request time off. I've been really happy with it.

Cons

If I could change one thing, I'd want employees to be able to update their 401K contribution or HSA amount directly in Paycor. Other than that, the software has been very well received across our organization.

Syncs nicely with QuickBooks

Pros

It connects well with other software especially QuickBooks which is used almost everywhere. The mobile app is also a smart feature since employees can clock in when they arrive using the workplace Wi-Fi or from a nearby location which helps prevent dishonest check-ins.

Cons

tax compliance varies from country to country so in some places it needs extra plugins or integrations with other software to work properly.

Provides valuable insights

Pros

Overall, I think this is an excellent business solution and a real time-saver. The information it captures and stores is extremely useful for reporting and I can generate helpful insights instantly. It was also the best option for the price, I looked at a lot of alternatives and Paycor was by far the most affordable. I wanted something as simple as possible and this turned out to be exactly right.

Cons

Our so-called senior implementation specialist was awful and did not fully set up our system. The other thing I didn't like is that if you are not using the app, the mobile website is very glitchy and definitely needs improvement. I run into this often while handling contracts for Intermed.

Employee self-service is a win

Pros

Having employees handle their own information takes a lot off the employer or staff team. It puts the responsibility of pulling the most accurate details directly on them which is a big plus.

Cons

The invitation for a new employee to register expires after a while. If they don't complete it in time, it has to be sent again later.

All-in-one payroll solution

Pros

It keeps everything in one place, from timesheets to pay stubs and even tax information so it's really convenient to stay on top of it all.

Cons

initial setup can be a bit of a hassle since you have to go through a few extra steps, including dealing with links and verification codes.

A must-have payroll

Pros

From payroll to time-off requests, this software keeps everything organized in one place and feels like a must-have. I can get to what I need quickly whether I'm on my phone or using a computer which makes it really convenient day to day.

Cons

I genuinely love using this software. There are still a few parts that could be more user-friendly but nothing is difficult enough to cause real problems or make it unusable.

Sudden price hike

Pros

We used it for more than five years and were very happy with it. Up until about three months ago, I really didn't have any complaints.

Cons

About three months ago, the pricing suddenly doubled. At this point, it just doesn't feel worth the cost anymore especially when there are similar options available for half the price.
