“powerful but complex”
Pros
Everything is in one system which is definitely a plus although the software still feels overly complex for even the most basic tasks.
Cons
For the price, this software should make simple tasks much more manageable. Paycor also takes quite a bit of time to learn and the learning curve is far from quick.

“Layout makes sense”
Pros
Right away, the layout makes sense and doesn't take much effort to navigate. The main dashboard covers most of what I need day to day, depending on how it's set up, including things like the punch clock and benefits enrollment.
Cons
Security is definitely strong which is important and absolutely necessary but it does feel like I'm asked to reauthenticate and verify my account pretty often.

“Simpler in comparison with other systems”
Pros
Compared with other payroll systems I've used, this one feels much more user-friendly and logical. The layout around profiles, pay and deductions is simple and there are also plenty of sections for assigning org codes and handling allocations. It covers what we need it to do and when questions come up, support usually responds fairly quickly. The only time it tends to slow down is during tax season, when getting a live person can take around 15 to 20 minutes.
Cons
We ran into an issue with multiple 401(k) codes. The system didn't roll them together into one total so we had to manually monitor the amount for a couple of employees. It was frustrating although it didn't create a major problem for us. On the positive side, the report-writing features are still better than what I've seen from many other companies.

“Valuable resource for employees”
Pros
Having one place to clock in and out, manage timesheets and review workplace benefits has been really useful. Signing in is simple and the paystub details are laid out clearly which makes everything easy to understand. The system feels user-friendly overall and is a valuable resource for employees in just about any kind of workplace.
Cons
An area that feels limited is updating personal information. Even for basic profile changes, employees usually have to contact the system administrator which is often someone in HR at the organization.

“effective reporting features”
Pros
Being able to switch between users without leaving the same screen or tab is really convenient. The reporting features perform well, the app is very user friendly and the LMS learning pathway system is an excellent resource.
Cons
It’s a struggle to get timely responses from our account reps when tickets are submitted. There have also been a few odd glitches that show up now and then although they usually resolve themselves.

“Easy to make edits”
Pros
Keeping up with each team member's hours has been very simple and making any needed edits or updates is just as simple.
Cons
At this point, nothing really comes to mind as a problem or something that needs attention. It's been an excellent software tool.

“Keeps my employees updated”
Pros
It does a solid job of keeping my employees updated on everything they need for payroll. My staff and I can communicate hours, payroll requests, time off and important documents that need signatures for payroll and insurance and it keeps all of that in one place.
Cons
The online login can be a problem for my staff from time to time and using or managing it on a mobile device is difficult. Outside of that, we really have not run into any other issues.

“Saves HR a lot of time”
Pros
From the employee side, it has made receiving paychecks and direct deposits really convenient and manageable. It definitely seems like it saves HR a lot of time as well.
Cons
There is a bit of a learning curve because there are quite a few different options to sort through but the core features are upfront and fairly accessible once you start using it.

“Easy to figure out”
Pros
It has been incredibly simple to use and employees have had no trouble figuring it out either. It saves me a lot of time when I'm reviewing hours and processing payroll.
Cons
I'd really like to see a way for employees to adjust their own hours without needing administrator access. It would be even better if those changes could be flagged for me to review and approve.

“helpful onboarding and reporting”
Pros
Handling HR tasks in our non-profit office has become much more manageable with it. Every summer, we bring on around 150 new employees and it really helps organize all of their onboarding paperwork. From the admin side, the platform is fairly user-friendly and the reporting tools are especially powerful.
Cons
The time and attendance area feels somewhat complex especially when time card edits are needed. It would also be really helpful if the system let us send reminder emails directly to employees who still haven't finished their onboarding requirements.

“Customizable homepage”
Pros
Being able to customize the homepage is my favorite part of the software because it lets me put the most important information front and center as soon as I log in.
Cons
Navigation has been the biggest frustration for me. It's not especially user-friendly, even for someone who works on a computer and deals with new software regularly. I've spent more time than I should searching for things that really ought to be easier to locate. That said, it's possible our HR team didn't set it up in the best way.

“Detailed solution”
Pros
Everything in one place is my favorite thing about it. I can check pay stubs, update personal details like my address and emergency contacts, request time off and even use it for clocking in when that's part of the job. It's also really helpful that Paycor clearly shows PTO as it builds up, assuming that's how your employer has it set up.
Cons
I don't really have a complaint about it. The only part I wasn't crazy about was depending on it to punch in since it can take a while to boot up the computer, get everything running, log in and then finally clock in.

“dedicated customer support rep is a plus”
Pros
Having a dedicated customer support rep made a huge difference and ours was outstanding. Even when they weren't available, the backup team was also incredibly helpful. The platform is user-friendly and there's plenty of training available to help you get comfortable with it. For HR professionals, the webinars are an added bonus since many qualify for SHRM and/or HRCI credits. Paycor itself, along with its add-ons, is among the strongest options out there.
Cons
Paycor really fits small to mid-sized employers better and doesn't seem as well suited for larger organizations. Since some of their tools like the ATS and LMS, were acquired technologies, the backend integration can make certain functions and reporting feel a little complex. Also, after their most recent upgrade, running some reports became less simple than it used to be.

“Convenient for monitoring my hours”
Pros
Keeping tabs on my hours is really convenient because it records every minute I work so I always know exactly how much time I've put in. It also shows my used sick and vacation time along with what I still have available. Whether we can actually request time off in the app depends on the company but it's nice that the feature is there. One of the best parts is being able to preview what my paycheck will look like the night before payday. There's also an option to clock in through the app which would be especially useful when working remotely.
Cons
Every now and then the app freezes but I can usually get back in without much trouble. Occasionally the information isn't fully up to date though that tends to be corrected pretty quickly.

“Hassle-free clock-ins”
Pros
Being able to clock in and out for shifts without hassle is really helpful and setting up employee schedules for upcoming dates is just as convenient.
Cons
Since Ximble was acquired by Paycor, the online scheduling tool has had a frustrating glitch that won't let you properly edit scheduled times. The updated time doesn't actually save on the schedule so I end up having to delete the original shift and build a new one from scratch which takes up a lot of extra time.

“Limited functionality”
Pros
At the most basic level, it does let you pull up your paychecks when you log in but there really isn't much functionality beyond that.
Cons
Showing the paycheck is pretty much the only thing it handles. It almost feels like you have to go through a VPN just to view your own pay information which is frustrating. Even downloading and printing your own paychecks is harder than it should be.

“Dedicated profiles for employees”
Pros
Each employee has a dedicated profile which makes it really convenient to keep everything in one spot, performance reviews, disciplinary notes, compensation details and the rest of the information I need. The system is also fairly simple to work with overall.
Cons
The toughest part for me was learning and navigating the Time and Attendance feature. It took a lot of calls and emails with support before it finally clicked but once I understood it better, it was fine. Running reports was also one of the more difficult things for me to figure out.

“smooth tab navigation”
Pros
Navigating each tab is very simple, whether you're setting up employees or updating and maintaining their information.
Cons
Updates tend to create errors or cause other issues and it doesn't seem like everyone is being clearly informed about what is changing or why. Lately, when those updates trigger problems in other areas, they also haven't been able to resolve the questions or errors we've been running into.
