Customizable to fit our needs

Pros

It is highly customizable. Really lets us shape the system to match our company culture. Our core specialist has been incredible too, always handling whatever we throw at them with professionalism and making us feel like a priority. What I love most is not having to juggle multiple vendors anymore for HR tasks. This platform has everything we need in one place, which has been a game-changer for creating a unique employee experience.

Cons

The support process is pretty frustrating. Whenever I contact our account manager, they make us create a case for almost everything instead of just answering simple questions directly. It would be much more efficient if they could handle basic inquiries through email without having to wait for a specialist assignment, especially when dealing with urgent issues and time constraints.

Gives us complete visibility of employee performance

Pros

I'm excited about building this comprehensive HRIs and payroll solution, even though we're just getting started. Finding a system that finally handles electronic timesheets properly has been huge for us. Sure, there are still some kinks to work out but the advantages far outweigh any issues. Our managers now have complete visibility into their team's work info and history, which never happened before. We rolled out performance management in 2020 and added a goals process the following year. Honestly, we've barely touched what this platform can do and I'm looking forward to discovering more automation opportunities that'll cut down on admin costs. The Learning Management module is coming later this year too. Having all our global employees in one unified system is incredible. The support team deserves a special mention, they're absolutely brilliant!

Cons

Biggest hurdle has been figuring out how to set up everything properly. Our team finds the interface pretty complicated and not friendly at all. Getting our WFM Time module configured to meet our financial reporting needs has been a real headache, though we keep adjusting things to make it work. We really need a company-wide calendar that shows when people are out on leave. The TOA feature drives me crazy when I'm looking at employee profiles, something as basic as checking 2020 leave records becomes a nightmare because once you look at one transaction and go back, all your filters disappear and you have to start over. It's frustrating and eATs up way too much time.

Can customize it right from the beginning

Pros

The way everything connects together including employee info, pay, performance reviews, benefits makes my job so much easier. Instead of juggling multiple systems, I can handle most HR tasks from one place, which really helps our daily operations run smoother. What I appreciate most is how customizable it is right from the start. You don't need to spend months setting it up or hiring consultants to make it work for your company.

Cons

The main thing that bothers me is not being able to log in as an employee when I need to troubleshoot their issues. Other systems I've worked with had this feature and it would be really helpful here. But honestly, nothing's a dealbreaker with this platform.

super easy to handle

Pros

Payroll engine works really well and my team finds it super easy to handle. Managing employee information is simple and I rarely get questions from staff about how to use it.

Cons

setting Benefits Prime up was a nightmare from start to finish. The sales team really oversold the shopping cart and life events features without properly explaining the massive backend work required. They didn't adequately cover how billing actually functions or what the technical requirements would be. Our data integrity issues during setup were absolutely terrible. We lost trust in the system almost immediately. I still can't wrap my head around how data transfers from Core to this platform and somehow becomes completely different. My own dependent who wasn't supposed to have life insurance coverage suddenly got enrolled when everything moved over. The auditing process we had to go through afterward was absolutely ridiculous and time-consuming. I honestly wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

simple and detailed solution

Pros

I like how user-friendly it is and everything is in one place. Since we rolled out Employee File Management, it's become even more of a complete solution. Our team doesn't need to juggle multiple logins and I can pull up any employee information quickly without hassle.

Cons

I find the Business Intelligence reporting a bit challenging to work with. While I'll admit I haven't spent enough time really digging into all its features, navigating through it and creating reports isn't as straightforward as I'd hoped it would be.

Flexible and intuitive

Pros

The platform feels really intuitive for both employees and managers to navigate. Right out of the box, it handles almost everything we need, plus there's tons of flexibility to customize things for our specific requirements. What really stands out is how well the UKG team's culture aligns with ours, that work hard, play hard mentality. Their loyalty shows and you can tell their employees genuinely enjoy working there, which translates into them going the extra mile for us as customers.

Cons

Managing this tool requires juggling multiple logins across different platforms including UKG Pro Portal, Backoffice, Citrix and success Portal. Each one has its own security setup which feels clunky and disconnected. While tech-savvy admins can handle navigating between them, having a single sign-on would make life much easier. The reporting side is also frustrating since some modules need joins while others don't, making it harder to create streamlined reports when everything isn't in the same environment.

I don't like the recent changes

Pros

The ease of use really stands out to me. It's simple to learn and get up and running. Haven't encountered any major problems that weren't sorted out quickly and efficiently. When I switched from another company recently, the user friendly interface made that transition much smoother than expected. My previous workplace used more of UltiPro's features than we do now and I found those additional capabilities to be really impressive as well.

Cons

I'm not thrilled about the recent time management updates. The formatting looks clean and efficient but feels like change for change's sake to me. I can see how the other current modifications might improve the overall process though. Beyond that, I don't really have much else to gripe about.

Customizable software with good support

Pros

Platform configuration is my absolute favorite feature. Being able to customize so much of the system for our specific needs is incredible. Plus, you can actually report on those customizations, which is really helpful. The customer service team has been outstanding to work with. My third favorite aspect would definitely be the reporting and dashboard capabilities.

Cons

The main downside is that while they do listen to feedback and make improvements, there's no guarantee your specific suggestions will actually get implemented. It can be frustrating when you need certain features but have to wait and hope they'll prioritize your requests.

Consistent upgrades

Pros

What I appreciate most is how they consistently roll out meaningful upgrades with solid documentation and great support for enhancements. People Analytics is a bit complicated at first but once you get the hang of it, the reporting capabilities are extremely powerful and really beneficial for our needs.

Cons

Compensation module could use some work, and I'd love to see better features on the administrative side of onboarding. More customization options would be great, especially for the platform-configured pages when managing talent through personal development. The personal development functionality feels too basic for our needs. Setting up the workflow approval process is confusing and tricky to implement. I'd really like to see improvements there.

Top-tier support

Pros

Customer service here is top notch. I've been working with them for over a year now and it's night and day compared to my previous HRIs vendors. The support team really knows their stuff and they're super understanding when I run into issues. Every time I reach out, I get top-tier help that actually solves my problems. Since implementation, things have only gotten smoother and I keep discovering new ways to make the most of what they offer.

Cons

The performance review setup could use more flexibility and isn't as user-friendly as I'd hoped.

Multiple useful modules

Pros

Great how flexible and customizable this platform is for our organization. It offers multiple modules like Core HR, Time and Attendance, Onboarding and Benefits Prime, so we can pick what actually fits our business needs. Each module is also customizable. Core HR lets you create platform configured fields that are tailored to what you need. These fields are reportable and can automatically trigger workflows and notifications, which is really handy. The customer service is excellent too. Our ERM and customer service reps are personable, understand our business and always help us get where we need to be.

Cons

I'd love to see more resources allocated to things like UDEs building so they can wrap up faster

Lets us buy modules we need

Pros

Appreciate being able to buy just the modules that fit our specific needs, plus the customer success portal makes it easy to get help and stay updated on new features. The user community is another big plus. People are really willing to share their knowledge and reporting tips that help with daily tasks.

Cons

What frustrates me most is finding bugs in the latest modules and then having to wait around for fixes. The community does pitch ideas for improvements and we can vote on what matters most to us but I've been waiting three years now for my top pick to actually make it into the system.

Can do almost anything with this tool

Pros

The payroll functionality is rock solid and delivers accurate pay information every time. Integration with Payment services for taxes and garnishments keeps everything running smoothly without hiccups. What really makes this system shine is the Cognos Business Intelligence platform, it's flexible for accessing and reporting data, from simple queries to complex multi-query reports. Your only real limitation is your imagination and how well you know the reporting tool. Having all that data housed in one place with such a powerful tool to extract meaningful insights is honestly one of the biggest strengths here.

Cons

My biggest frustration is definitely the turnaround time on tax amendments and service requests. When it comes to tax-related cases, especially amendments, the wait can be ridiculous I've seen amendment requests take up to 2 years to get addressed. I know there's a backlog they're working through, but this really needs improvement. The service request process is also painfully slow since it's fee-based and you have zero control over timing. You're basically at the mercy of their staff availability and even once they start working on your request, any programming refinements can drag on for months. While the support model itself is solid, the speed just kills productivity sometimes.

They value our feedback

Pros

Integrated approach really cuts down on duplicate data entry, which saves me tons of time. Being able to send feeds to other systems and vendors like benefits providers is convenient. I find the interface pretty clean overall and I appreciate how the team actively listens to user feedback and rolls out improvements and new features regularly.

Cons

Integration between our Core and WFM systems isn't as smooth as we'd hoped. We can't make cost centre changes until the actual day, even though future dating is enabled elsewhere. The time solution just doesn't support it. This creates issues since we need the costing to flow into payroll for employees who have one-off changes from standard costing. The allocation tool works great for standard cost splits but it doesn't help with our specific situation. The payroll side is pretty unforgiving too when it comes to timing and making adjustments. Some changes have to be done through the back office while others go through the web interface, which gets confusing.

Expensive for us

Pros

The payroll process flows smoothly, especially when working through the backoffice. Most of the reporting features are excellent and provide solid insights. However, I feel we should have access to every field across the entire system since it's our own data after all.

Cons

They don't listen to user feedback even though they have a voting system for suggestions. The company makes assumptions about what we need instead of actually asking us. Their pricing has become ridiculous. We're paying for their expensive sponsorships and fancy conference entertainment. As a non-profit, we pay the same rates as for-profit companies but get no additional benefits. We're actively looking at other vendors that are more cost-effective.

Updates based on suggestions

Pros

It's interface feels really natural to navigate and whenever I reach out for support, the response is quick! What I appreciate most is how they actually listen to user feedback and roll those suggestions into their updates. Plus, the UKG Connections Conference is absolutely incredible!

Cons

The only thing I'd mention is the recruiting portal isn't a full ATs system but we solved that by integrating with Greenhouse through their partnership program and everything works perfectly now.

Best report generator I have seen

Pros

The Cognos Business Intelligence reporting feature is amazing. I've worked with several report generators over the years and this one stands out as the best I've encountered. When someone needs specific data or information, I can pull it together quickly without any hassle.

Cons

I can't really think of any major issues. Like most software companies, they charge extra for add-on modules, which is pretty standard. Would be nice if everything came bundled together in one package though.

Pros
