“Frustrating waiting time
Pros
The way all the features connect really works well for us. The recruiting and onboarding tools have been fantastic additions to our workflow.
Cons
Support response times are really frustrating. I've waited up to 2 weeks just to get an initial reply on some tickets, which is way too long when you need help.

“Helpful, but not efficient
Pros
I really like that it covers everything from recruiting through onboarding without effort. Being able to build and run BI reports on our company data has been a game-changer for how we make decisions and measure outcomes. The BI community and the scheduled knowledge hours are such useful resources when I need guidance or examples. The support team gets a shout-out from me, they're consistently responsive and patient whenever we reach out for help, which makes a big difference. I also appreciate the ways information can be shared across teams, especially the Community Broadcast and Document Acknowledgement features that keep everyone informed. File management is smooth, documents seem to flow naturally from Core into the right places. The Performance Management area simplifies putting together and scheduling reviews for staff. Besides, the LMS stands out for me, tracking training and having automatic renewal notifications based on our rules has really aligned processes across our agency and reduced manual follow-up.
Cons
Onboarding existing employees feels way too long and drawn out from my perspective. Time and attendance tools also need improvement, they don't meet our needs yet. Pulling accurate data from BI reports can be maddening, even after training it's hard to get the numbers I expect, although the BI community does help when I can get time with them. I've noticed programs don't always sync correctly and there is no alert when something fails, so we only find out when data is missing and end up spending time hunting down the problem. Community Broadcasts should allow attachments and let us edit without having to resend everything, copy/paste is unreliable as well. Distribution in Performance Management feels clumsy until you learn the quirks. I would really welcome clearer EFM reporting guidance and simpler methods to update file mappings between CORE, Document Acknowledgement, and EFM.

“Great if set up right
Pros
I'm really impressed by how clean the adjustment management flow is, it guides me through picking employees and other criteria, then automatically takes care of notifying UKG. SUI changes pushed via the Customer Success Portal happen very quickly and efficiently, and I appreciate the email updates that keep me informed as my cases progress. The Rapid Response Center's callback option is a thoughtful feature. All in all, the payroll gateway sequence simplifies my work a lot with clear, interactive steps that make tasks feel simple.
Cons
Since the homepage redesign in November 2020, I've found it much less interactive, using now takes significantly more clicks which is especially frustrating when updating earnings or deductions in the Gateway. The amendment process also needs improvement. While the Manage Adjustments menu gets the job done, I don't have a reliable way to monitor credit adjustments or receive prompt alerts when cases are closed. It would be really helpful to have some automated invoice creation and email notifications so I can keep proper records of payroll changes. The Gross Up tool drives me nuts, every time I save a 'Post Only' line, the tax figures recalculate, and I end up having to call support to get it reopened because I can't delete or override entries myself. On top of that, the open/close pay run controls offer very limited reporting, so I can't properly review what's been entered before finalizing and closing the batch.

“Easy access to frequently used features
Pros
Quick access to my most-used features through the gadget setup makes navigation really smooth.
Cons
It's challenging to build complex reports when you're working with multiple data tables. The process gets pretty convoluted and time-consuming.

“Inflexible system with bad support
Pros
The time tracking connects straight to payroll processing so I don't have to juggle two seperate systems..
Cons
The system is rigid when you need to make modifications. They basically have a one-size-fits-all approach to everything and if your request doesn't fit their mold, tough luck. Customer service shows zero understanding or willingness to work with you on anything.

“Makes everything more engaging
Pros
Really appreciate how interactive this platform makes recruitment and lead conversion processes. The benchmarking analysis it provides is very thorough and detailed, which has been invaluable for our workflows.
Cons
Integration with advanced sales management services is pretty challenging and I've found that most integrations don't allow you to use customized templates when distributing messages through different channels.

“Reliable payroll, fragmented reporting
Pros
For our core HR and payroll functions, UltiPro has been incredibly reliable. Payroll accounting runs perfectly smooth, we haven't had a single issue in three years with that. The system does a great job keeping everything organized, with all employee records and data centralized in one place. The BI features are also effective for the executive team's standard reporting needs.
Cons
the system has a major blind spot. It's surprisingly difficult to create unified reports because you can't merge data from the core system with data from the UTA time-tracking module. Since 75% of our staff are hourly, we rely heavily on UTA but pulling meaningful reports from it is a real challenge. The data feels buried, field names are unclear, and the process is far more complicated than it should be, which makes presenting detailed information to leadership a constant struggle.

“customer care has gone downhill
Pros
I can access this from anywhere since it's web-based, even on my smartphone. The mobile app has been extremely useful for our team. The functionality makes sense and new users pick it up quickly. Cognos reporting is incredibly helpful too. We need so many different year-end reports that the standard ones just don't cut it. The versatility of the Cognos report writer really helps us customize everything to meet our specific needs.
Cons
Since the merger, customer support has really gone downhill. I submitted a ticket almost two weeks ago and still haven't heard anything back from the team. This is frustrating because support used to be one of there strongest features. Also, the process for submitting cases has gotten more complicated and the category options are limited now, which makes it hard to properly classify your issue when requesting help.

“Incredible support!
Pros
Customer service here is absolutely incredible. When I'm dealing with what feels like a crisis, the support specialists have this amazing way of keeping me calm and grounded. They get back to me quickly too, which really helps when I'm stressed about an issue.
Cons
The WFM feature is pretty frustrating since it's clearly still being worked on and crashes way too often.

“Customizable HRIS
Pros
Really impressed with how flexible this HRIS system is. You can set it in tons of ways to make it work exactly how your company needs it to.
Cons
Sometimes there's a lag between when compliance changes happen and when the system gets updated to reflect them.

“excellent for daily operations
Pros
The web interface and backoffice give me quick access to all the tools I need for daily operations.
Cons
The reporting and business intelligence features are really confusing and hard to figure out. When problems pop up, there's often no clear explanation of what went wrong or how to fix it.

“Lets us login from anywhere!
Pros
I appreciate how easy this tool is to navigate plus it lets our team log in from different locations without putting other sites data at risk.
Cons
Reporting features feel pretty limited, especially when it comes to labor and cost breakdowns. Could definitely use more depth there

“Training helps understand it better
Pros
I like how thoroughly they explain each module's details and processes, plus the training they offer really helps us customize everything to match our organization's specific needs.
Cons
Development timeline for certain releases feels too long and I think some features should get higher priority in the roadmap.

“cleaner, simpler interface but still prone to glitches
Pros
Interface looks much cleaner and navigation feels more simple than before.

Had a few glitches this week, especially when trying to access payroll initially, though I believe it was a system-wide issue.

“Top HRIS out there
Pros
I can honestly say this is the best HRIS I've worked with. It is so easy to use and the menus and wizards are really well designed. The major releases and updates they roll out are so good! What really stands out is having the BI tool for custom reporting, plus being able to build our own APIs through Informatica makes data movement and reporting so much smoother. All the modules like LMS, Performance Management and Recruiting are easy to implement and actually enjoyable to use.
Cons
The downtime and slow performance really hurt productivity. When users can't access what they need, my inbox gets flooded with complaints and I spend way too much time playing customer service instead of actually working. It's especially frustrating when core modules crash because everything grinds to a halt. Having BI reporting locked to Internet Explorer for months was absolutely brutal.

“Beginner friendly system
Pros
It is welcoming for newcomers. From a user perspective, the design and overall experience hits exactly what you'd want, particularly given our hiring workforce. Having pay statements and W2s accessible online is fantastic for the same reason.
Cons
Standard reports can't be exported to excel format, which is really frustrating. We ended up needing alot of custom interfaces built just to get the system working the way we actually need it to.

“essential self-service system
Pros
The manager and employee self-service features are excellent. Both our management team and associates would be really upset if we ever tried to remove this system. It's dramatically cut down the time we spend on reviews, terminations and transfers.
Cons
The configurability options are pretty limited, though I can see they're working on making improvements. UKG keeps pushing forward with updates, which I really appreciate.
