rigid and frustrating for adjustments and remote workers

Pros

Processing payroll is pretty simple most of the time

Cons

The system won't let me print instant checks for direct deposit employees. Everything has to wait until the next payroll cycle. Once a check is posted, I can't make any changes to it, which is really frustrating. Simple adjustments like moving earnings between codes take way too many steps. There's also issues with how taxes are handled for remote workers in Ohio and Pennsylvania since they're tied to work locations. The tax filing services could use some work too.

Ease of use stands out

Pros

I like how configurable the portal is and how user friendly it feels

Cons

I can't really find much to complain about but if I had to choose something, the UltiPro Time and Time Off and Allowances portal could use some improvements. That said, with the Kronos merger, there are so many time system options

Best HRIS in my view

Pros

The Business Intelligence feature is excellent. You can build and customize reports in countless ways. Data analysis is crucial for any successful business and this platform delivers everything you need. After working with several HRIS packages, this one stands out as the clear winner.

Cons

Would love to see better integration between the reporting systems across UTM, Core and Ultipro Learning platforms. Right now I have to pull certain reports from all three seperate systems since they're not fully available in BI yet. Hoping this gets improved in future updates.

payroll, HR, benefits, time tracking and reporting at one spot

Pros

I find it really simple to use and handle day-to-day tasks. Having payroll, HR, benefits, time tracking and reporting all in one place is a plus. Everything connects perfectly so I can pull comprehensive reports across all areas. What I particularly appreciate is that there's just one version of the platform so when I'm troubleshooting with other users or reaching out for support, we're all working with the same system.

Cons

I can't really think of anything negative about it. Just wish I had more time to dig deeper into all the features and really maximize what this system can offer.

Saves me a lot of time!

Pros

It is very well integrated and easy to use. This platform has been a huge time-saver for me during open enrollment periods, managing benefits, processing payroll, handling events and working with UTM features.

Cons

The tax payment processing is a little slow and we often get hit with late penalties while waiting for cases to go through.

Helpful Customer success portal

Pros

Customer success portal is really helpful and I appreciate having manual and quick guides available to walk me through everything.

Cons

Functionality restrictions at different organizational levels can be pretty frustrating. You can't always apply business-level features where you actually need them.

Helpful mini tutorials

Pros

I like how easy this is to learn on your own, plus the mini tutorial videos really help you figure out different features throughout the system.

Cons

Finding certain features can be tricky since they're sometimes buried in menus

Great for auto-filling reports

Pros

Love how it automatically fills in text fields by pulling from past reports when you check the history section.

Cons

I'm not a fan of being able to log in from multiple devices with the same username. The most recent changes end up overriding the original documents.

Too expensive for my liking

Pros

I find it simple to manage. Everyone picks it up quickly and navigates through without any difficulty.

Pros

For our crew working on-site, I find the interface very easy to use, everyone learns it fast and moves through it simplely without any trouble.

Cons

I'm concerned about the pricing, it's quite high and I've experienced excessive turnover among their support and account management teams.

Horrible workforce management and time tracking features

Pros

Excellent software! I love how easy it is to use on a daily basis. What really stands out is the massive selection of reports available, plus the ability to customize them exactly how you need.

Cons

The workforce management and time tracking features are terrible! Really excited that Kronos bought them out though. Can't wait to get their expertise with payroll setup and time management systems!

Highly professional team

Pros

I've been using this for 5 years now and it's made everything so much easier. It's quick to navigate and convenient for tracking down whatever your looking for, whether that's running reports or updating employee tax configurations. The efficiency really shines in our hectic accounting environment, making processes much faster. The support team has been professional and helpful throughout and even though I haven't met most of them in person, the people I communicate with regularly feel like valued colleagues.

Cons

Compensation policy really needs work. It feels pretty gimmicky for our company. While it works fine for developers, programmers find the setup process to be a real pain. Not everyone's happy with how they handle problem-solving either, though they seem to be working on a replacement solution.

Pros

Found it to be user-friendly. There are helpful demos and instructions right on the side of the screen whenever I get stuck or confused. What I really appreciate is being able to handle benefits, recruiting, I-9 forms and even send background checks all from one place. It's great that employees can use the mobile app to update their personal information without needing my help.

Cons

The reporting feature is pretty frustrating to navigate. I have to try multiple search terms just to locate the report I'm looking for and even then the data isn't always current.

Pros

Great experience of five years

Pros

I've been working with this system for 5 years and really appreciate how user-friendly it feels. Whether I'm generating reports or updating employee tax configurations, navigation is straightforward and finding what I need happens quickly. In payroll's fast-paced environment, having tools that streamline processes really boosts efficiency and that's exactly what this software delivers. The support team has consistently been professional and very friendly.

Cons

Tax issues may take long for the customer support to sort out. I've dealt with slow turnarounds for years when submitting cases through their portal. While I've noticed some improvement lately, there's still room for better response speeds. We also had problems with garnishment processing that got so bad we decided to handle it ourselves internally.

Set up was smooth, really pleased

Pros

This was our company's first HCM system so getting data collection and setup right was critical and UltiPro made it easy for everyone on the team. The design team got buy-in from employees pretty quickly, even with the high price point. From a management perspective, updates and maintenance are refreshingly simple. The whole thing was built to let administrators jump in and make customizations. We're still really happy with how the set up support went.

Cons

The system lacks proper change tracking and documentation features. When something gets modified or updated in the curriculum, there's no way to add notes explaining why the changes were made, which makes it hard for other team members to understand the reasoning behind updates.

Improving user experience is their focus

Pros

The mobile experience works great for both staff and admins. Very easy to use. Having everything centralized in one place is convenient, plus the integration capabilities with other programs like profit retailers really adds value. This tool has helped us organize workflows significantly by eliminating tons of paperwork through automation. I appreciate how they're constantly improving the platform and rolling out new features without charging extra. The team actually listens to user feedback and focuses on enhancing the experience consistently.

Cons

Managing compensation feels pretty gimmicky for our organization. While it works okay for administrators, the setup process is a real headache for them. Their problem-solving approach isn't great either, though I hear they're working on a new solution to replace it.
