Pros
Appreciate how the security roles let me control who accesses what information. Their support team is really friendly and responds in no time.
Cons
Org chart feature is pretty disappointing. It won't print a standard box layout for our entire company which is something we really need. Also, when you submit service requests, it takes forever just to get them scheduled and then even longer to actually get the work done and delivered.

The customer service team is great and their training programs are top-notch.
Cons
The system has so many features that it can feel too much. A roadmap or guide would really help. We've been using it for 3 years now and I'm pretty sure we're not taking advantage of everything it offers.

“good platform with some hurdles
Pros
It has automated our most important processes, it has saved us an enormous amount of time. The compliance tools are a standout for me: W2 processing, EEO-1 handling and 1095 processing all flow far more smoothly than they used to. One of the best parts is being able to access and control our data directly instead of constantly putting in requests to IT for reports. Previously we'd submit a request and then realize we needed extra details, which triggered a never-ending back-and-forth that dragged everything out.
Cons
We've hit a number of frustrating roadblocks because of the platform's limitations. Many things we assumed would function properly out of the box simply do not, so we've had to invent workarounds for capabilities that should be standard. Mobile access was particularly disappointing, we chose this system partly for mobile use, yet during implementation we discovered that adding a single customization (hiding holiday bonus checks) completely disabled our mobile features which was a major letdown. The biggest ongoing challenge, however, has been the component company transfer process. In our healthcare organization about 150 employees move between entities each year and that complexity wasn't something we anticipated until implementation. Now those transfers are a manual chore despite having automated much of everything else. Every potential new feature ends up being evaluated through the lens of "how will this break our transfer workflow?" which has introduced more manual work rather than reducing it. Even the compliance tools that function well become harder to manage because the transfer implications complicate things.

“Modules work so well together
Pros
Different modules integrate so well with each other. The reports are detailed and you can pull data from virtually anything. What really stands out is the variety of workforce solutions it covers, addressing so many different operational challenges.
Cons
Getting support can be hard since the case system doesn't always function properly and I often have to be persistent to get the responses I need.

I appreciate how this company consistently seeks new approaches to prioritize their users and put people at the center of everything they do.
Cons
The high turnover among their support staff is really frustrating. I've had 4 different account reps in just the past year which makes getting consistent help with rapid response and other services pretty difficult.

“Our single solution for time & attendance, payroll and HR
Pros
Everything including time tracking, payroll and HR functions is at same spot. It's been great being able to scale this across our different companies without any hassle.
Cons
The system could really use more fields for customization and integrating with our other company systems has been challenging.

The versatility really stands out to me. It is a powerful software that handles everything I throw at it. What I love most is how payroll recalculations happen instantly with no waiting around. The Learning Center has been a huge help for getting up to speed with new features.
Cons
Response times for support calls are pretty slow. Getting everything set up took way longer than expected. When tax issues come up, they drag on forever without much progress. Communication is basically nonexistent and you're left wondering whats happening most of the time.

We only need basic features. These features are simple to use and the support we get is great.
Cons
User access levels are pretty confusing to set up. I really wish there was an easier way to give someone high-level access without them being able to see personal info. Right now it feels like you're either stuck with basic access or full admin privileges. There's no middle ground that works well.

“Customer service stands out
Pros
Customer service is definitely the biggest advantage here. When I submit cases, response times are excellent and they really make sure I'm getting everything needed for my issue or question. The system has tons of add-ons that make it much more comprehensive. Manager self-service has been a lifesaver for mid to larger organizations and the workflows these processes can handle are helpful.
Cons
With so many products and hundreds of features in there system, improvements can take forever. I've seen them launch new products without making all the functionality reportable in BI, which creates real problems for us.

“Strong HR core, weak time tracking
Pros
I really appreciate how simple it is to set up different business processes. Everything follows a clear wizard format that makes configuration much simpler. The training resources are excellent and those hands-on learning center sessions during knowledge hour have been helpful. The BI reporting capabilities are solid and I love that the web interface has a modern feel while still letting you switch to the classic view when needed. The automated alerts and burst features are real time-savers and having monthly reports run automatically has definitely boosted our productivity.
Cons
I'm not a fan of how time tracking is handled here. Really wish the main system had built-in time entry features. The UTA and UTM modules don't match what most other platforms offer and tracking hours feels way more complicated than it should be. The mobile app for time tracking is pretty much worthless since none of the rules from the core system carry over, makes it completely unreliable for actual use.

The support team is always available when I need help with questions. I rely on the Ultimate folks pretty heavily to double-check my work and make sure I'm on the right track.
Cons
Managing time effectively with this system can be quite challenging and I'm hoping to see what benefits Kronos might offer instead.

I appreciate being able to handle HR tasks and payroll all in one place. We've also brought in modules for tracking time and attendance, plus file management which has been really helpful!
Cons
The date formatting isn't flexible enough. I really need it to be configurable by role rather than system-wide. Without that feature, we can't implement this globally across our organization like we'd want to.

“Excellent support with plenty of features
Pros
Hands down, the customer support is the best part. Whenever I file a ticket, responses come quickly and they make sure I have everything required to resolve my problem or question. Beyond that, it offers a huge range of add-ons that broaden its capabilities. Manager self-service has been a real lifesaver for our mid-to-large teams, and the process workflows it supports are very useful in keeping things running smoothly.
Cons
Because they offer so many different products and hundreds of features across the platform, enhancements often move at a glacial pace. I've watched them roll out new offerings but fail to expose all necessary functionality to our BI tools, which has caused significant headaches and operational challenges for our team.

“Interactive but missing key features

I've had a great experience with the support team here, every person I've contacted has been knowledgeable and genuinely helpful. The interface feels thoughtfully designed and navigating around is simple, tasks are usually just a couple clicks away. I also appreciate how simple security management is, because it makes life easier for our HRIS group when they automatically assign roles to new employees based on their job classifications.
Cons
the APIs have been a real pain, they're hard to integrate with and often unreliable for the things we need them to do. It also lacks many of the custom options our business depends on. Because we represent several unions, our setup is heavily customized and that affects how we run payroll calculations. We're still forced to perform a lot of processes manually while current audits run through the workflow system.

I find the BI reporting to be reliable, and I'm fond of the web UI's design while still able to flip back to the classic layout when necessary. Automated alerts and burst delivery save a lot of time, and having monthly reports execute on their own has improved our team's efficiency.
Cons
Not a fan of how time tracking is implemented here. I wish the core system included time entry capabilities. The UTA and UTM modules don't line up with what most other systems provide, and logging hours ends up being much more convoluted than it needs to be. The mobile time-tracking app is essentially useless because none of the rules from the main system sync over, which makes it completely unreliable for use.
