supports self-paced learning

Pros

It brings together any number of users around a shared learning objective. It also supports self-paced learning through a calendar-based setup tailored to each learner. Being able to build courses and adjust them according to different skill levels helps us clearly identify where team members are falling behind and what each person needs to focus on. The gamification piece is another nice touch since it gives learners virtual rewards and recognition for the effort they put in. The standout feature to me is how deeply you can explore courses and learning content while also encouraging an informal learning culture through user interaction like comments, videos and course posts. That more social and informal style keeps learners curious and encourages them to spend more time in the LMS.

Cons

The biggest area that needs improvement is the mobile app UI especially in Go Learn. It would be much more useful if admin features were available there too since many of us are constantly on the move and would rather have the app mirror more of what the desktop version can do. There are also some limitations with homepage widgets in the mobile app and features like the activity feed do not offer the same experience as they do on a PC. On top of that, I'd really like to see an option for course deadline notifications through push alerts, email or Slack. That would make it easier for learners to stay on track and finish their courses before the due date.

Proactive support

Pros

Whenever I need assistance, it's really simple to set up a meeting and get help over a call without waiting long.

Cons

I'd personally find it more user-friendly if there weren't quite so many configuration options for everything.

Extremely customizable

Pros

The platform is incredibly customizable which has let us build employee and customer learning experiences exactly the way we wanted. It has also made it possible to grow a consistent training program in a virtual environment.

Cons

Because there are so many features and customization options, keeping up with updates can be challenging. To really get the most out of the platform, it helps to have a dedicated team managing and supporting it.

Docebo is a cost-effective customizable powerhouse LMS

Pros

Docebo's control and customization options are exceptional. We've tailored it extensively to our needs and appreciate the white-label experience.

Cons

The main drawback with Docebo, for me, is the additional cost associated with modules like social learning and learning insights. Since we didn't initially purchase these, securing separate budget approval is now necessary.

Satisfied with the reporting features

Pros

The content I build in Docebo turns out really polished and the interface feels user-friendly for both whoever is creating the material and the people taking the course. It supports learning object uploads in a variety of file types and putting everything together inside a course is pretty smooth. The quiz and assignment tools are excellent and I've also been very satisfied with the reporting features.

Cons

A few of the more advanced tools aren't especially user-friendly right away. Observation Lists for instance, took some extra guidance from Docebo Support before I fully understood how to set them up and use them properly.

Still feels like a beta product

Pros

There's at least some flexibility with custom CSS and a custom dictionary which helps. If you're willing to put in a lot of work, you can make the interface somewhat more user-friendly for learners.

Cons

After many years of using Docebo as an admin and training thousands of learners on it, I can honestly say very little has meaningfully improved. Even now, the platform still feels like a beta product. When new features get introduced, it takes years for them to slowly add things that really should have been there from the beginning. It often seems like the developers have never seriously worked with another LMS because so many decisions in the L&D and eLearning space feel outdated and backwards. Then they spend the next few years reworking the same buggy, counter-user-friendly approach they launched in the first place. The company seems far more focused on IPO goals and flashy new features that attract prospects than on supporting existing customers. Once those prospects become paying customers, it becomes obvious that a lot of those shiny additions have little value in the everyday reality of using and administering the system. I can maybe see it working for very small organizations with minimal needs but for enterprise use, I wouldn't recommend it at all. I'd only start advocating for Docebo if they finally tackled the massive backlog of feature requests and put real effort into improving the neglected core LMS functionality. Instead of pushing money-grab extras like Coach & Share or Shape, they really need to fix the foundation of the product.

Freedom of using different content formats

Pros

its wonderful how much freedom there is to build courses using different content formats, whether that's files, videos, text and more. It makes creating training materials much more versatile and useful.

Cons

support for smaller companies can feel limited at times. Update processes could also be more efficient and smaller teams not having access to a sandbox is definitely a disadvantage.

Flexible UI for every audience

Pros

Found it to be very customizable. You can tailor the UI so different audiences get the experience that fits them best. And if you'd rather not spend time building out pages and menus yourself, there are default options available to use instead.

Cons

Because the experience is so heavily customized, you have to create your own user guides. Every company's platform ends up being unique so there aren't standard help documents available for end users.

Huge resource library

Pros

Getting up to speed with Docebo is fairly simple and there's a huge library of resources available that really helps with learning the platform in depth and troubleshooting when something comes up.

Cons

Some of the recent updates have made the platform feel less user-friendly and a bit harder to navigate. Instructors now need to enroll themselves and manage courses through the admin menus which means having to relearn that workflow. The reporting and analytics are decent but it feels like more effort has gone into data visualization than into making the core reporting tools more practical. For example, you still can't run a simple report showing all courses in the catalog by session date and time.

Lets us build custom pages

Pros

Lets us build fully custom pages, structures and workflows to fit exactly what's needed. The live chat support is also a big plus and has been really helpful.

Cons

The backend can feel overly complex and inconsistent at times. For example, on the admin side, you can't easily see which courses are included in a catalog even though that visibility does exist for learning plans.

Well-structured interface

Pros

The interface feels user-friendly and the overall user experience makes the platform simple to manage day to day.

Cons

An area that could be improved is how administrators handle power user role management, along with having more options for triggering surveys.

Can be tailored to fit branding needs

Pros

It has worked really well for us because it can be tailored to fit our internal branding needs and the Salesforce.com integration lets our learners access training right where they already spend their day. The Go.Learn app also gives us a solid ready-made mobile option and the experience stays consistent with what users see on a laptop. On top of that, the gamification tools have been helpful for boosting learner engagement. From the admin side, setting up programs organizing content and managing learner groups is very manageable and does not require advanced IT expertise. Their support has also been excellent across the board, from the dedicated onboarding specialist to the accessible technical support team and the highly responsive customer experience manager who consistently helps make sure everything runs well.

Cons

the standard mobile app is not available in the Android marketplace in China. Docebo did provide a workaround but it is more technical and needs dedicated IT support to get in place.

Increased user adoption

Pros

A big plus with Docebo is how modern the interface feels. Our organization has responded really well to it. We moved over from a platform that offered little to no customization so being able to brand it in a way that reflects our company culture has made a noticeable difference in user adoption.

Cons

Where it falls short is compliance functionality which feels very limited. We need recurring training on set schedules like annual and biannual completion and trying to manage that in Docebo has turned into a very manual process. The platform only permits one course completion per user which makes this even harder. Support has also been disappointing since ticket responses take far too long. It's frustrating to keep chasing updates after being told issues would be resolved quickly and I've had one ticket sitting open for more than a month without any resolution.

Exceptional support

Pros

It is quite simple to get the hang of. On top of that, the training team was phenomenal and did an excellent job guiding us through the entire process.

Cons

The usual implementation timeline is fairly long although the team worked with us and helped us get launched faster.

Great support throughout rollout

Pros

Starting with our first LMS was a bigger project than we originally expected and the implementation took quite a bit longer than planned. Even with that, Docebo stayed consistently supportive from start to finish. We had steady help not just from our customer success team but also from extra resources that assisted with our Salesforce integration.

Cons

I'd still like to see more support geared toward system power users especially in the form of educational materials. Right now, those resources seem to be limited to superadmins. It would be really helpful if some of the content in Docebo University could also be shared with power users.

They take feedback into account

Pros

They take user feedback into account when improving the platform. Updates feel considered and the service is incredibly fast and efficient which makes a big difference in the fast-moving environment I work in. Their support setup has also been genuinely helpful. I meet with my assigned support contact twice a month and they're consistently available to answer questions or point me toward the right resources so I can keep things moving. On top of that, the help desk feature for Super Admins is really useful when quick, on-the-spot questions come up.

Cons

If I had to point out anything, it would be that some of the technical terminology can be confusing if you don't come from a tech background. Terms like SSO, API and similar language don't always feel user-friendly. There were a couple of times when I had to ask the help desk to clarify what they meant. That said even though it was a little confusing at first, it was still simple enough to ask and get the explanation I needed.

Tracks what each trainee has learned

Pros

Running training is much easier when I can track exactly what each trainee has learned and it gives me that level of control. I'm able to assign each person the specific work they need to focus on while also monitoring their knowledge along the way. Being able to create certificates for every group I graduate is another big plus. Overall I think it's a really solid choice for training.

Cons

I'm not sure whether this feature already exists but it would be very helpful if I could generate course progress reports for specific groups only. Right now, whenever I need to check a group's scores, the system gives me results for the entire site instead.

evolving platform

Pros

it covers most of what we need and it keeps improving with new updates month after month.

Cons

A few use cases still aren't fully supported yet. On top of that, having access to a consulting service would really help with more specific scenarios especially around rules, APIs, enrollments and catalog visibility.

Best-in-class knowledge base

Pros

Right away, the Docebo Knowledge Base stood out as the strongest LMS support resource I've ever worked with. Whenever the product changes, the documentation keeps pace with virtually no delay which made a huge difference for us. Because of that, we were able to get our senior administrators trained in just a few weeks instead of dragging it out for months. Being able to quickly look up answers on your own really puts you in charge of how information moves through your organization. With Docebo, the possibilities feel almost endless and really come down to how creatively you want to use the platform. After two years of using it, my opinion has only improved. Docebo continues to get better over time. Their shift to a more agile development approach means major features are being released roughly every six weeks. The platform feels like it's constantly evolving, with regular updates that make it more user-friendly, more user-friendly and packed with truly top-tier functionality.

Cons

Because Docebo is cloud-based, any changes you're hoping to see have to be reviewed carefully with their full customer base in mind. On one hand, that's a real advantage since it keeps disruption to our setup very low. On the other hand, it can also mean that a feature or improvement we want has to sit on the waitlist until enough other customers are asking for the same thing. One thing I'd really like to see is a simple button in the staging area that clearly shows upcoming changes. Right now, the admin menu just labels things as "New," and you have to dig through the menus yourself to figure out exactly what has changed.

They keep rolling out updates

Pros

Docebo does a really good job with ILT and ODT training management. The platform comes with strong features for handling both and they keep rolling out updates that make the overall process better. On top of that, their team is very reachable and usually responds to support tickets really quickly.

Cons

One thing that gets annoying is the platform's pop-up guidance messages. They explain how to use certain features but they show up every single time I log in. Having to close them over and over just to get to the interface can be frustrating.
