Mar-Kov has become an invaluable tool for our batch manufacturing processes. What I value the most is its ability to handle the complexities of our industry with great robustness. Having formulations, production processes, and inventory management integrated into one platform has significantly streamlined our operations. The real-time tracking and traceability features have greatly improved our quality control and compliance efforts. I must also mention the exceptional customer support from Mar-Kov, as they promptly respond to our inquiries and provide effective problem-solving solutions.

Cons

Initially, I found Mar-KOV Recipe Manager to be quite complex, requiring a learning curve. However, investing the time to understand the system has proven to be incredibly valuable, opening up numerous opportunities. The initial effort spent on learning is undoubtedly worthwhile due to the benefits it brings.

Pros

With Mar-Kov, there is no need to manually fill out forms. The entire process is automated with predefined specifications, such as analytical test parameters and physical parameters like temperature and pressure. The platform has been designed to minimize the possibility of errors by preventing them rather than correcting them. I would also like to highlight the excellent traceability system provided by Mar-Kov, which has proven to be the best tool for conducting annual Mock Recalls at SDB Products. Our external auditors, both ISO and customers, consistently give high ratings when reviewing our Mock Recall records. I am confident that our auditors are recommending the Mar-Kov system to other manufacturing companies as a means of improving their current systems. In my experience, Mar-Kov is one of the best ERP systems I have worked with in both Europe and the US.

Cons

Occasionally, when I need to verify a formula and export it to Excel, it includes unnecessary information like prices that I have to manually delete before printing it out for the physical verification process. Currently, the R&D chemists are responsible for conducting formula verification, but I used to handle it from 2020 until the summer of 2021.

Pros

Personally, my favorite feature is the Plan Tracing Set Viewer (PTSV) because it allows me to manage the inventory planning process. I can forecast sales of finished goods, procure raw materials and packaging materials, and track the manufacturing process. The PTSV provides valuable insights into potential issues and their anticipated dates. I have set up all the necessary data, including lead times, testing lead times, and minimum stock levels, to obtain this accurate information.

Cons

Our unique product and manufacturing style sometimes pose challenges for the support team to resolve our issues quickly. However, having one dedicated Account Manager has been helpful in the past, and I am confident it will continue to assist us in the future. Additionally, with data in CMS dating back to 2014, the set viewers can become slightly sluggish over time due to the volume of data.

The platform's customization options allow us to maintain a simple workflow. It seamlessly integrates with our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Control Points (CPs) for our HACCP plans. The lot tracking capabilities are truly impressive, allowing us to trace any combination of raw or finished goods throughout our entire supply chain, from in-stock inventory to shipping and final destination. The software offers numerous features that enable us to grow alongside it. Moreover, it provides excellent analysis and reporting of goods costs.

Cons

To date, I haven't encountered any issues. Why spend money when you can get the same quality for free? Mar-KOV offers excellent value compared to the competition.
