good setup but limited data value

Pros

For our operation installing the hardware and software was easy and setup was fairly simple overall. We also experienced very few outages. The idea of tracking machine metrics isn't anything new but moving management and production teams from paper reports to a cloud-based system was a logical step and made practical sense.

Cons

We stopped using it more than two years ago so I would expect some improvements may have happened since then. The core issue with this approach was that production staff had to immediately log in and manually choose reason codes whenever there was inactivity. If they didn't do it right away, the data became unreliable. We couldn't get staff to consistently follow that process so in the end we never really got the value we expected from the system. I'd only use software like this if either you just want to track runtime versus idle/off time and don't need detailed reasons or if those reason codes can be pulled automatically from the machine status indicator or controller. For example, machine warm-up can appear as RUNNING which means operators can work around the system unless you add extra hardware and even that isn't foolproof. Customizing reports was also difficult. Since the platform was hosted in another time zone, that created additional reporting problems. We originally chose it because some of our machines are not Okuma, Okuma Australia didn't have software expertise and the lower cost plus a simple 12-month trial subscription made it worth trying.

helpful reporting for team updates

Pros

The reporting tools especially the scheduled reports, have been really useful for our Group Leaders when sharing updates with both management and employees.

Cons

A few of the date-related features and certain data options could be better although some of that also depends on how the users are working with the system.
