“Excel-driven tracking that delivers”
Pros
Being able to use macro-enabled Excel workbooks as databases has been the standout feature for us. It lets us build process-specific, customized sheets for each workflow and the right person, usually the Process Owner, can take care of the data entry directly. That has helped cut down on incorrect entries and the feedback is immediate since charts can be set to refresh at timed intervals so the Quality Management Group always has current information available. Another feature that has been really valuable is the ability to attach annotations to data points. As the dataset expands the system continues to track those notes and points of interest, including issues, observations and similar items. Setup was also fairly simple especially with support from the IT department.
Cons
Honestly the only real downside that comes to mind is a few quirks that show up when the product is used alongside Excel. Aside from that, the other concerns I have raised have been escalated appropriately and addressed either through fixes to reported problems, like visual bugs, or by turning them into new features.
