It is easy to build a website with it because it comes with a huge range of features, templates and tools. It gives you plenty of options and capabilities to create the kind of website you want.

Cons

As a beginner the most difficult part was how complicated it felt at times. There were so many features and choices that I started to feel overwhelmed trying to decide what to include for my business.

Pros

Wix gives you a lot of creative control thanks to its drag and drop editor so you can position text, images and buttons exactly where you want without needing any coding skills. Also it takes care of the technical side for you including hosting, domain setup, SSL and security which makes getting a site live much less stressful. Another big advantage is the huge library of 800+ modern templates tailored to different industries so you're not forced to start from scratch. On top of that the platform includes useful built-in business tools like email marketing, SEO guidance, online booking and payment processing, all available from the same dashboard.

Cons

One downside is that once you choose a template and build your site around it, you cannot simply switch to another one later without manually moving everything over. The mobile version also isn't always perfect right away since the automatic conversion from desktop often needs extra adjustments and reordering to display properly on phones. Because of the fully flexible drag and drop design, pages can end up with heavier code which may lead to slower loading speeds compared with more performance focused builders. It's also hard to move away from it later since exporting your website or its source code to another platform or host isn't supported.

Pros

The interface is easy and simple to understand and it includes nearly all the features and components needed to build a modern website.

Its pricing plans are a bit confusing. It works well for a consultancy with around 5 to 10 people but it feels somewhat expensive for individual users.

It has been really helpful for building up a business online especially with the range of features it offers to support growth and improve your presence. Its marketing tools are set up in a simple way which makes them practical to use and keeps the experience decent for customers as well.

The thing that can be frustrating is that it occasionally runs into bugs or freezes for a bit. Usually though a quick refresh fixes it and everything goes back to normal.

At first the platform felt very simple to use but after spending more time with it, I started noticing quite a few limitations. I'd recommend it only if you need a basic website without too many expectations.

To me the biggest downside is definitely the overpriced plans. The setup is user friendly enough that you can build a customized, working website in just a few minutes and the free plan makes it possible to create, test and even publish without needing to enter a credit card upfront.

One downside is that once you pick a theme, you're basically stuck with it and changing layouts later means rebuilding the site from scratch. The mobile version also needs separate manual adjustments in another editor to make sure the desktop design displays properly on phones. Another limitation is that it does not let you export your site code or database so moving everything to another platform like WordPress isn't really an option.

I find it surprisingly easy to use. As a first-time user, I was able to figure out most of the features quickly and customize everything to fit our needs. It also offers really good value for the price especially compared with other platforms that cost much more.

Since I am still new to it, I honestly haven't run into anything I dislike yet. I haven't had any problems so far and I also haven't needed to contact customer support at this point.

With Wix Studio, Velo, CMS, Business Solutions, Multilingual and built-in SEO all working together, I can create anything from simple business sites to more advanced corporate platforms without needing a stack of outside tools. One of the biggest benefits is how fast I can deliver projects while still keeping the final result professional. Hosting, security, SSL, CDN, backups, analytics integrations, forms, automations, CRM and email marketing are all part of the same ecosystem which saves a lot of maintenance effort. It also keeps getting better through regular feature releases, AI tools, stronger responsive options and good performance improvements. Running an agency, that means I get to spend more time on UX, design and strategy instead of dealing with servers. On top of that support has been reliably helpful whenever I have reached out and the documentation is thorough enough for both newer users and experienced developers.

Cons

At this point there really isn't much for me to criticize. It has come a long way compared to where it was a few years ago and the platform keeps improving with updates that actually matter. Every now and then I have run into small UI quirks or minor editor bugs but they've never impacted live sites and were usually fixed quickly through support or later updates. If anything, I'd just like to see even more advanced APIs for developers, extra customization in some of the Business Solutions and continued refinement of the Studio editor as new features roll out. Those feel more like small wishlist items than serious drawbacks.

Putting together and launching a professional, stylish website with it felt very user friendly and easy. The platform keeps improving and over time it has become even more easy to work with.

You do end up paying a little more for the convenience. If you already have the technical skills, there are definitely cheaper ways to build a site.

Developers who want deeper customization may be disappointed because access to the core source is limited and custom database setups are still quite restricted. Cost and ownership are also concerns as you cannot export your site to move it elsewhere, premium add-ons for important business features can get expensive and you're locked into its hosting instead of choosing a cheaper third-party provider.

Building a site with it is very approachable thanks to the simple drag and drop editor and the huge selection of customizable templates. It makes web design something just about anyone can handle. There are times when you run into a limit and a certain customization just cannot be done unless you start working with Velo, their developer platform which kind of undermines the whole no-code idea. The editor may also become laggy as the site grows and it isn't always obvious what to do about it. On top of that once you choose a template, changing to another one basically means rebuilding from scratch which makes that initial choice feel like a big commitment. Page speed also isn't always as quick as you'd want especially on mobile.

There are too many AI features and they feel confusing and disconnected from each other. The AI assistants are supposed to support business growth but ours keep sending blog and social media content that has nothing to do with our product and even ends up promoting other products online.

Wix gives us a lot to work with when it comes to design and the platform seems very capable and flexible overall. The support agent who helped me was patient, professional and stayed with me until the issue was properly escalated. I also liked that my concern was documented and that I received a ticket number for follow-up.

Recovering a domain tied to the wrong account was confusing. The recovery form seems to be built more for login problems than for domain ownership situations so it was hard to tell what the right steps were. A separate process for domain ownership recovery or at least clearer instructions, would make this much better.

Pros

Running updates on my own without having to call a web developer has been a big advantage. The templates look professional and they fit really well for presenting a catering business. I also like the built-in SEO features which help with getting the business noticed on Google. Connecting it with the tools already in use like contact forms and marketing features, is pretty easy. Having hosting, security and site management all bundled into one platform keeps things convenient. It also gives enough flexibility to present different services, from weddings and corporate catering to private chef dinners and seasonal menus. On top of that adding blog content and photo galleries is useful for showing past events and helping with search visibility.

Cons

At the same time there are definitely limitations. SEO has come a long way on it but it still doesn't offer the same level of flexibility as a custom WordPress site if the goal is to rank aggressively for competitive searches like Denver wedding caterer or private chef Colorado. Design flexibility can also become an issue later because once a template is selected, changing to a different one usually means rebuilding a large part of the site. Costs can add up too especially when premium apps, additional storage or more advanced marketing tools are needed. Page speed is another drawback since some of its sites load slower than well-optimized custom sites which can hurt both user experience and rankings. Certain functions also depend on third-party apps which adds recurring fees and sometimes extra complexity. And if the site ever needs highly customized booking tools, catering calculators or one of a kind integrations, the platform starts to feel restrictive. There's also the issue of platform lock-in because exporting the site to another platform while keeping the same design isn't really possible so moving away from it would mostly mean starting over.

An affordable website builder that's easy to use and works really well for most website needs. It's not the best fit for highly advanced or complicated sites but for typical use cases, it does the job very well.

There are some visualization problems especially with embedded forms on the mobile version of the site. The layout can also be problematic on mobile sometimes forcing users to scroll down before they can see any actual content.

Pros

Putting together and updating landing pages with it has been really easy without needing a developer involved. The drag and drop editor works well, there are plenty of professional, modern templates to choose from and adding custom forms and similar elements is very simple. It saves us a lot of time whenever we need to launch campaigns quickly or make content edits on the fly.

Cons

It works perfectly well for basic, marketing focused websites. That said once you need more advanced functionality, it starts to feel limiting. If you're trying to scale, adding custom features or building more complex, developer-oriented layouts can be a challenge.
