highly configurable project management tool

Pros

A great project management tool. Setup and day to day use are quick and I really enjoy tweaking the layout so it matches whatever project I'm working on. The interface is also pretty clean which makes it easy to stay on top of what's next.

Cons

There is a learning curve at first but it should be manageable and you'll likely get comfortable with it after a bit.

great data entry and collaboration features

Pros

My school doesn't take advantage of many of its features but I genuinely like how simple it is to enter and organize our data especially with multiple people working on updates.

Cons

For the way we're using it, everything fits perfectly there isn't anything worth complaining about.

I use it for everything

Pros

We've ended up using this for basically everything. If you already know about this tool, you'll get the idea it's flexible enough to act as almost any tool you need. Common setups for us include marketing task management, document and resource listings, recruiting and survey forms, content planning, a lightweight CRM for organizing contacts, research documentation, simple data visualization and even expense tracking.

Cons

Some of this platform's premium features aren't super obvious so it's easy to get stuck relying on the free options without realizing you've hit a capacity limit. That said, after using it with the free plan for about 2 to 3 years across two different companies, things have been working well overall. I also use it personally for school applications, job hunting and keeping track of documents and resources.

great templates

Pros

If you want a cleaner, more polished step up from Google Sheets, this is the way to go. The built in base templates make it easy to get a table, Kanban board, calendar view or gallery view set up for the same dataset you're trying to manage. I use it for both work and personal tracking, everything from monitoring the status of video production for my company to logging the movies I'm watching, keeping tabs on personal goals, running a personal to do list and planning trips. It's also a strong option for team collaboration. Tasks can be assigned, monitored and marked as finished in a single shared hub and you can customize views so each team member only sees the information that matters to them.

Cons

Feels a little limited compared to some alternatives. In a lot of cases, I'd rather use Notion instead, mainly because Notion's pages feel much more flexible and adaptable and I haven't yet found an equally malleable counterpart in this.

Project tracking that's flexible

Pros

Helps me keep track of all my ongoing projects in one place and it's been working really well. The interface stays fairly low key and I can update things like statuses without hassle. Progress sharing is also a plus I can send updates to whoever I want and keep everyone in sync.

Cons

The free plan is pretty restrictive and only includes limited functionality. I'd love to see more flexibility in what's available without needing an upgrade.

My team's go to tool

Pros

Our team at Kindred relies on it every single day and it's become our central spot for data, collaboration, task management and even some scheduling. It also helps everything stay connected across the board which is a big reason we keep using it consistently. On top of that it keeps getting updated with new and improved features and we're always finding ways to roll those in. What really stands out is the flexibility of different views for the same information. Some teammates are most productive with a more traditional "Excel style" layout, while others do better with a more visual setup that makes it easier to spot what matters. Airtable lets the whole team work in the style that supports their success and it genuinely feels indispensable for us we couldn't really function without it.

Cons

A few things would make this program even better. For starters, customer support feels a bit limited: there are tons of online forums and resources for basically any question but we can't schedule a call with a support rep. I know email support exists and they do respond but resolving issues takes noticeably longer more like 2 3x the time compared to the quick back and forth you'd get on a phone call. It'd also be helpful to have the option for a Zoom call with a representative to discuss ways to optimize our base but I'm not aware of a way to do that. Lastly, there's no built in way to link emails, texts or phone calls directly to a base. That kind of integration would be a huge win for our workflow being able to merge our email server with this is on our "dream list." It's not required for us to keep using the platform but it's definitely something we'd love to see.

highly customizable

Pros

A really strong tool for shaping workflows around our organization's exact needs. I especially like that we can personalize and keep an eye on multiple datasets and even the free tier includes useful redo options. The view setup is also refreshingly constrained in a good way it gives enough flexibility to look at information in different formats without feeling chaotic. On top of that the interface looks clean and there are plenty of spots to do graphic related work and manage messages. It feels a bit like planning tasks with scribbles on a blackboard, except everything runs online with real time updates. Pricing is also budget friendly for teams of different sizes and it scales well as requirements grow.

Cons

Layout and overall flow can feel pretty generic so it may not fit every type of application. I'd also like to see stronger math/logic options for instance formulas that depend on filters (like aggregates) are more complicated than they should be.

colour coded tables help with organization

Pros

The ability to color code tables and columns, plus setting up multiple views, makes it really simple to organize information and keep everything readable.

Cons

No real complaints here. We did notice that monday.com can handle a lot more between different teams which is why our group ended up adopting it as the internal go to tool.

Pros

I like how all my projects get organized by due date or publication date so I can quickly see what's coming up.

custom boards

Pros

One standout feature for me is how I can personalize each board. It also makes collaborating with my team really smooth projects stay in sync, we can discuss work together and we can use shared notes without having to jump between tools. It has been especially helpful for planning my monthly social media posts in advance. That upfront planning keeps me organized and lets me publish on time instead of scrambling at the last minute. Overall, it's helped me work more methodically and stay more cooperative with the way I handle tasks.

Cons

Every now and then, the experience doesn't feel as user friendly as it could. When I build a new template, I often end up browsing through dozens of existing ones just to spark ideas which can be a bit time consuming. There's also a learning curve setup and the process can take a while so patience is helpful. Once everything's configured though, the interface is usually pretty user friendly.

integrations made research simpler

Pros

Mostly use it to manage my user research data and it's very easy to use. The platform includes the features I rely on daily like linking records, a solid set of apps, helpful data visualization tools and integrations with other tools I already use which has made the whole workflow feel a lot lighter. I'm especially enjoying the newly added Interfaces feature since it fits nicely into how I present and organize information. Overall, it's saved me from constantly wrestling with messy Excel sheets.

Cons

One missing piece is text formatting. Sometimes I really need to emphasize part of the text in a record (for instance making it bold) but there's currently no text formatting option to do that.

We could not be as cohesive and productive without it.

Pros

Here at Kindred, we just love Airtable and use it pretty much each day. It serves as our central location for data, teamwork, task management, some scheduling, and just all-around connectivity. We are constantly looking to integrate new and enhanced features, so it is constantly being updated and upgraded. The ability to examine the same information from many perspectives is fantastic for our team. While some team members believe that the traditional view makes them the most productive, others find that more visually appealing perspectives make them more successful. As I have previously stated, Airtable gives our entire staff the freedom they need, and we could not function without it.

Cons

In my opinion, there are a few things I would like to say that may improve Airtable. For instance, even though there are a ton of online discussion boards and resources for any query you may have about how to improve Airtables performance for your team, we are unable to get on the phone with any customer support agents. Call me old-fashioned, but I find it to be a real drawback when I cant just pick up the phone and ask a few brief questions. They do respond to emails, but it normally takes 2-3 times longer to address a problem that way.

useful templates but onboarding takes time

Pros

The majority of the templates and features are really useful which makes it a solid option for day to day activities.

Cons

Comes with a noticeable learning curve for both admins and users. That curve took quite a while to fully work through and it slowed down onboarding for new staff especially when they don't already have experience with data management tools.

helpful task tracking

Pros

Our team mainly used this tool to stay on top of current tasks and the bugs that still needed fixing. The colorful interface paired with strong collaboration options made it simple to assign work across categories like "Urgent," "In Progress," and "Complete," while we also kept long term projects moving in parallel.

Cons

Ran into some trouble trying to use every one of Airtable's features through their API. On top of that pricing can climb quickly as the team expands and starts needing more resources.

Good for project tracking

Pros

Packed with flexibility and it's been really easy to mold it into what we need. We've used it to manage projects, tasks, vendors, contacts, team members and deadlines all in one place. It also lets you connect information across different bases which is a huge plus. We've tried switching to other tools every six months or so but nothing matched everything we were trying to handle so this stayed our choice the longest. The best part is that you can customize it so it can basically handle "just about anything" through its setup and automation options.

Cons

Getting started takes some time since there's a learning curve. Once you get the hang of it though, it becomes a lot more powerful and you can accomplish a ton with it.

huge variety of features

Pros

Comes with a bunch of features that really help me keep work schedules organized. I especially like being able to personalize lists, have task start/end dates update automatically and switch between the different views that make the schedule feel easy to read. The project dashboard pulls everything together so you can see the key details, the actions that still need to be done and when they're due. It's also flexible enough to match our specific needs so the setup stays aligned with our mission instead of feeling generic. On top of that the team can collaborate right in Airtable sharing updates and getting notified when the master work plan changes, like new jobs or change orders.

Cons

The only part I don't care for much is how colleague alerts work. If I don't get a response, I have to send a new alert the next day and that turns into something distracting and a bit annoying at times.

helped me with product marketing

Pros

A solid tool for businesses that sell products marketing becomes a lot simpler and teams can handle similar workflows in a more organized way. For example, a company selling body products could guide employees on how to merchandise items by sending them messages through it. It also supports automation so communications can go out faster and tasks don't get delayed. On top of that it's really handy for managing business inventories.

Cons

Since it's still pretty new for many people, getting around the platform can feel a bit confusing at first. Finding your way through its setup and screens may take some time until you're used to it.
