Simple to use interface

Pros

I was stuck using separate Excel files and keeping information shared or updated in real time across different locations (or with different people) was a constant struggle. This makes that process simple, when I make a change, it updates across all the workspaces automatically.

Cons

Nothing really stands out as a downside for me so far. The interface is simple to get around and there are lots of options to customize your tables and data views to match exactly what I need.

Adaptive project tracking

Pros

Started using this software last year, mainly to keep tabs on projects that are actively being worked on and those that are already completed. The customization is a big win, adding new fields and setting up new views is simple. Sorting projects is also really convenient so I can pull together the information I need without digging around. I also appreciate how regularly updates are rolled out, including features like creating personal views.

Cons

The one feature I'm not crazy about is that you can't freeze a view. That means other team members can change views and it can be a pain trying to get back to the original setup.

powerful automation for workflows

Pros

Automations have been a big win for my business. Since we're a small team handling a really large customer base, being able to automate workflows takes a ton off our plates. That means we can spend more time on the tasks that can't be automated. The weekly digests are a perfect example. We send different messages to customers based on different views and each group gets the right data. For our day to day operations, automation is the real deal.

Cons

I don't have much to complain about regarding its shortcomings. The only thing I can see being tricky for new users is that you still need a solid amount of Excel or spreadsheet know how especially when it comes to formulas. It isn't as friendly in that area for people who aren't already comfortable with Excel sheets so that learning curve could be a downside for less experienced users.

easy to customize

Pros

Learning it feels really simple and there are plenty of ways to customize how you view and present information. You can switch between different formats like grid, gallery, Kanban and more, plus move into charts, reports and forms when you need that style instead. There's also a strong range of integrations and automation options which makes it easier to connect workflows rather than building everything from scratch. It's a tool you can start with for free and then expand as you go and the pricing makes sense as you scale since it can quickly pay for itself.

Cons

Offline access isn't available so if you don't have internet you can't use it. Also if you want to bring in occasional or partial collaborators to a paid workspace, you have to cover the full per user cost for them there aren't true part time collaborator seats. That said, there are workarounds for sharing or bringing in certain information even if you're starting from a free account.

Excel like look with stronger features

Pros

It mostly feels, at least visually, like an Excel workbook which is huge for me since I'm used to organizing ideas and planning projects in grid form. It keeps that familiar structure but the moment you start adding data, it really upgrades what you can do with it.

Cons

Unfortunately it doesnt have the flexibility of Google Sheets or Excel with things like merging cells or visually aligning/intersecting specific rows and columns in a way that isn't driven purely by the data. I'd love a toggle or option for an Airtable style view that behaves more like a flat Excel sheet when you need that layout.

onboarding was quick

Pros

Doesnt take long to learn and start using. I also appreciate the flexibility it gives for setting up different ways to solve a problem. A big win is how well it integrates with a range of other apps which helps cut down on repetitive work.

Cons

It can feel a bit time consuming at first while you get the hang of it. Also, database access isn't available offline. Aside from that, it's a solid tool.

Not powerful enough

Pros

Pretty easy to figure out how to use most of the templates and features. The setup felt well suited for very simple, direct tasks where you don't need a lot of complexity.

Cons

Once you're looking for something more dynamic especially for a team like ours, it starts to fall short. We ended up needing stronger tooling which isn't really the tool's fault so much as it's just not what we required. I also wouldn't suggest the project/task tracking features for more involved workflows.

solid API rate limits

Pros

I've been using it to host my database for an Android app and it's been a really good setup overall. The API rate limiting is excellent and has helped a lot with keeping requests under control.

Cons

Importing and exporting data feels pretty difficult. It also runs slower compared to tools like Google Sheets and Excel.

Handles data well

Pros

Switching between a tabular view and a Kanban board for the same data is handled really well. Our team has long needed a Kanban style view for how we work but we also want a table view when we need the bigger picture. This manages to bring both of those together and it bundles that with several other useful features.

Cons

Dashboarding option feels fairly new and still doesn't go as far as we'd like. Also, the row limit is a bit restrictive for our needs.

My Airtable review

Pros

Fully loaded for a wide range of people including hobbyists, creative nomads, small business owners and students. It feels like the platform was built to cover different needs so that everyone can find a place for it.

Cons

There's a learning curve before you can really get the most out of the dashboard. Beginners might struggle at first.

Makes monthly planning fast

Pros

Has quickly become my go to tool for monthly content planning. Coming from Google Sheets, it still feels familiar but everything is set up and managed way more smoothly like a big upgrade. You can configure the cells exactly how you want, drop in visuals, set dates and add comments and channel details in just a few clicks. I honestly haven't finished a full month's plan this quickly since switching.

Cons

When a layout includes lots of columns some of the side panels can make the plan harder to scan and you end up scrolling quite a bit.

more structured than a spreadsheet

Pros

I like the way it organizes everything, it feels more structured than a typical spreadsheet setup. Collaboration is also a big win since it's easy to work with others and even push data into the tables automatically which makes ongoing management a lot simpler.

Cons

Would be great to have more options for the table/static web page views especially if they could support filtered views for end users. Managing duplicates can also get a bit tricky.

I use it everyday

Pros

This is one of those tools where I can mostly only point out drawbacks and even then I still use it every single day to run my business. It's not as powerful as a true database product like Caspio (there are plenty of things that don't behave exactly the way you'd expect) but it's a very handy, web based database. Creating views is simple and you can sort and display information in whatever layout is most productive for your work. Hiding fields, grouping by a field and generally shaping the interface around your needs feels like its strongest point. The field types help a lot too. Checkboxes, multi select and single select fields, autonumbering, plus a nice range of colors so you can quickly scan what matters. Collaboration is also where it shines, it pairs really well with Make (ex Integromat), Zapier, Jotform and similar automation tools which makes this a practical hub for day to day planning. I wouldn't rate every single feature as perfect yet it's still the app I rely on daily to plan my jobwork.

Cons

Deduplication is the big pain for me. I need to deduplicate all lines with one action and there isnt an option like "dedup all". Instead, I have to do it one by one and it even asks me to confirm each time. The merge option is also buggy. Automations have a lot of issues as well. It's supposed to run JavaScript code but that functionality isn't working reliably. On top of that combining tables and fields is "handy" in theory but when you're doing multiple things, it turns into a manual process one by one. There's no real bulk option to apply a rule across multiple items at once which is frustrating. Still if your use case is more on the smaller side, it's probably the best option out there.

powerful templates

Pros

Working in project management and planning nearly every day, this has been a standout for me especially the huge range of powerful, detailed templates that help you organize projects quickly. There genuinely feels like there's a template for almost every need. On top of that the templates are highly customizable and I really appreciate the amount of detail you can view all in one place, without having to jump between tools.

Cons

The only downside I run into with any data heavy software is the amount of effort needed to keep things current there's a fair bit of ongoing input and document maintenance. If the documents aren't updated regularly, they quickly fall behind and that can lead to inaccurate data showing up in the workspace.

flexible data organizing tool

Pros

Compared to tools like Notion, Google Sheets and Trello, this platform feels much more flexible. Being able to store organize and communicate information in a bunch of different formats is genuinely useful. The way it handles data access also stands out especially versus Google Sheets since it lets me protect specific data points.

Cons

I'm not using nearly all of what it offers yet, maybe around 30% of the features so far. The mobile experience still isn't as smooth as Google Sheets. Better documentation or more easily accessible video tutorials would make it easier to ramp up and get more out of the platform.
